This is by far the best pizza place in Clayton. Sure, it’s located within a BP station, which seems a little sketchy to some; but don’t let the location keep you from eating here. I recommend going with the pepperoni and pineapple pizza, and the barbecue chicken pizza. Two are the best kinds of pizza there. The staff is always friendly when you walk in too. They also deliver too!

I won’t lie, the garlic knots are gross. But everything else here is SO good! The pizza is always tasty. The salads are good. The subs are always fresh, plus… The staff is amazing. And they deliver. SCORE!

I know… I know… you are thing Pizza at a Gas Station? But, yes I’m telling you — if you want a break from the chains — Check out Ray’s. My family and i tried them from a word-of-mouth recommendation and they are great! Something about the Pizza Ovens they use gives them a great flavor that differentiates them from all others.

Second order in a row over 39 minutes late with cold pizza and wings. Enjoy the wait… food was great first time only got worse. Waste of time and money.

I was a big fan of this place, but the last couple orders have been off. Late deliveries and such. Today’s order may have to be my last. By the time it was delivered nearly 90 mins after ordering, my pizza was cold. My Caesar salad came with Italian dressing and a live bug in it. Not a great experience.

Pizza was pretty good — but I ordered chicken parmesan and it was horrible. There wasn’t even spaghetti with it — yuk.

Yes a tad pricey but ray makes the absolute pizza and Lasagna bolenase in johnston county. He makes great wings but not the best in JoCo. He uses stone ovens so the crust is crispy, and he does dones of charity workcand is the only delivery place that delivers to all of clayton.

Ray’s is now our«go-to» place for pizza in Clayton. Service is quick and friendly, you can order online, and the delivery drivers arrive on schedule. The pizza is a medium — thin crust that is cooked well. The sauce has a nice flavor and they don’t skimp on toppings, Frankly, I think that they are about the best option in town.

The pizza is real good but so are the subs, chicken tenders and fries! The loaded French fries are good also.

Had Ray’s for the first time yesterday, ordered two 8″ pizza’s(one works one meats), a cheesy pizza fry and an italian cold-cut sub. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t very impressed; the sandwich tasted like one of those deli sandwiches you get from the grocery store or the gas station; the pizza was alright, when we got it, it was still hot, but once it stopped being piping hot, the crust turned into a cardboard-like flavor, which felt almost store bought. Unfortunately there’s nothing about the food that would have made me think«oh, I got this from Ray’s».

We just moved to the area and had to try this place after all the great reviews on Unilocal. My family lives in Connecticut so we eat some pretty incredible pizza on a regular basis. We were definitely not disappointed, but you have to love it for what it is. This is not wood fired, authentic Italian pizza. But it’s a huge step up from chain pizza joints. The crust was great, and they make the dough fresh daily which always makes a huge difference. The staff was super friendly and even gave us a free dessert since it was our first time there. The best part of the meal for me was the garlic knots. Oh my goodness you should try those. Nom nom. Better than the pizza. My biggest disappointment was when I asked on the phone if they do a Margherita pizza and was told«we don’t serve alcohol». Yikes. Some basic pizza knowledge is good if you own a pizza place. But overall, we’ll go here instead of Little Caesars next time we need a quick dinner.

Ray’s is fresh pizza! The toppings are under the cheese, which makes each slice super fantastic in your mouth. I think this is now my favorite pizza place in Clayton. As long as they remain consistent with their quality, I won’t go elsewhere. Follow-up: This only pertains to the large pizza’s, not personal lunch-time pies. Those are a bit too greasy.

Basically, a Papa John’s pie. AND spotted 2 – 3 operational health violations during the 20 minute wait for the pizza.

Best gas station pizza I’ve ever had. In fact Ray’s just has good pizza period. It’s especially nice to have such a good pizza place so close. Typically you’d have to go into Raleigh to find this quality of food. I would have given them 5 stars except they really slumped on the chicken topping on my 3 topping pizza. They gave me plenty of veggies, which I love, but chicken is one of my favorite toppings so it’s really disappointing when there’s not much of it on my pizza. But they do have a great crust, which is imperative in a good pizza. Also the service was great. We walked in, ordered & it was ready super fast(only about 10 minutes). All in all I would definitely go back there again. Rays offers good food at a very reasonable price.

I’m a very big pizza eater. I LOVEPIZZA! Now that I gave you my qualifications here it goes. Yes Ray’s Pizza is inside of a BP gas station(or is it a gas station inside a pizza place? lol) and YES Ray’s Pizza is tasty. Living in Texas for 5 yrs than moving here changed my out look on eating from a place that’s inside a gas station. The reason I had to give it a 4 out of 5 was because I ordered a EX-Large 3 topping pizza($ 12.99 w/coupon) and they kind of shorted us on the chicken topping. Other than that The pizza and service was great. We walked in ordered our pizza, watched some T.V., and about 10 — 15 minutes later we got our pizza. If your on the fence about going to Ray’s just go and try it. I’m sure you will enjoy it and for the price you can’t go wrong. Bön Appetit

I was taken here for the first time a couple months ago. Yes, I was initially skeptical, pizza from a gas station grill? YOUBETCHA!!! I don’t mind admitting I was wrong about my culinary prejudice, Ray’s is AWESOME. I’ve tried the pizza and the calzone and loved both. I’m told the wings are just as good but I can’t seem to get enough of the pizza. Find this place… it’s worth it!

To quote Eddie O, «I think you need to eat somewhere twice. I’ve eaten there twice and the food is phenomenal.» U turn, u turn, four more u turns(we are lost) — Ray’s isn’t the easiest to find, especially without this crucial piece of information: ITSCONNECTEDTOTHEBPSTATIONONTHECORNER! Gas station pizza you scoff… that’s right — fill’er up, get a 6 pack of cold ones, and a pie, a good pie, no, «a phenomenal pie for that matter» raves Eddie O… I’ll admit I was skeptical at first but my veggie pizza was pretty darn good. Eddie O, who is not observing«Meatless May» got sausage and jalapenos, apparently they use fresh jalapenos so that pie was pretty darn hot spice wise. Snickers or Milky Way? Those are your cake choices — your rich(and quite good) cake choice. Eddie O says(hey shouldn’t he write a review?!) He’s «never going to pizza joint x(name shielded to protect the innocent) again.» Well there you go folks, Ray’s Pizza.

Small pizza joint attached to the BP. I ordered over the phone for takeout. Tried this for the first time last night. Great pizza. Cooked perfectly. Done in 10 minutes so it was piping hot. Service was great. I just wish I had gone sooner. support the little/local guy.
