This bakery is the absolute best bakery… besides having wonderful childhood memories(my great uncle Ed and aunt Emilia owned McKean’s Drive In) the baked goods are amazing. I know everything is wonderful but my heart goes straight for the torchettis!!! I just need to have those things auto ship to me monthly!!! :)

We tried the donuts. Maple bar, chocolate bar and sprinkles. I also tried the peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. I wasn’t very impressed by any. The donuts seemed dense and not airy as they should be. I did enjoy a bit of a crispy edge. The cookie was a complete waste of calories! It lacked flavor and was like a poorly made sugar cookie. Disappointing. If you are going to try it, just get the day old. I bought«fresh» and day old donuts at 745am and it’s exactly the same.

Went in today and got a raspberry Danish and a chocolate chip cookie. The Danish looked big and beautiful but was totally hollow. The whole thing maybe weighed a couple ounces. There was more frosting on top than there was raspberry. Costco has way better Danishes in their bakery. The chocolate chip cookie was also big and beautiful but it lacked flavor. It was clearly made with margarine and white sugar. It just wasn’t as satisfying as it looked. I recently saw a meme that said: «There should be a refund on calories for things that didn’t taste as good as you thought they would.» That’s totally my take on this bakery. It’s one saving grace is that the service was spectacular. We were welcomed right as we walked in the door with a warm hello and friendly smile.

This place is a traditional must stop every time I’m out this way. Maple bars, eclairs, fritters, or cake donuts, all good.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I stopped in from out of town to get my little girl a snack and received nothing but attitude from the redhead working the counter. When I asked if I could also get a latte, I received nothing but silence and a look of annoyance. I thought maybe she didn’t hear me, so I clarified and asked for an iced latte. Then she repeated what I said looking put out. I told her to forget the latte and she sarcastically said, «I could of made it for you». Then when I get to the register to pay for two donuts, she acted like I was the stupidest person on earth for not knowing about their $ 4 minimum to use my debit card. After all the attitude, I left with nothing! I love to support small businesses, but not when they don’t value me as a customer. I’ll gladly take my money elsewhere.

They sell caffe vita coffee, which is always a hit. And everything smells wonderful. They have their famous garlic bread, which is loaded with garlic butter and everything not-so-good-for-you, and sell discounted donuts that are a day-old. I usually just get coffee here, but when I forget cash, I have to buy something else because they ask that you spend a four-dollar minimum if you use a credit card. So I’ll get a chocolate éclair, and though they are nothing like how the French would make them, they are yummy.

Best Bakery in the region. Maple bars are great. I love their Tollhouse cookies as well. Walk across the street and go to Owen’s Meats. It is as equally well as the Cle Elum Bakery is. Stop there every time I go to Seattle.

The Bakery House behind the actual bakery is a nice little place but have been out of menu items my last few stops. The soup is always a bowl of flavored water.

Terrific little bakery. It seems it’s harder to find independent bakeries like this anymore. Nice people. Large selection of fresh baked breads but the cookies and bars are my favorite. We often stop here and at Owen’s Meats, across the street, to stock up on goodies for road trips and camping trips.

Came in thinking we found the sweet spot of Cle Elum. However, we left with dry tasteless doughnuts and what tasted like day-old hard cookies :(Based on their large assortment of baked goods, it seems they aim to deliver on quantity rather than quality.

Visited the Cle Elum Bakery on the recommendation of a friend who suggested I stop in and try their torchetti cookies. So, of course, I stopped in and got a sampler that I tried with my friends. The verdicts: Torchetti cookies? Dry and a little light on spice. Probably good if you’re using them for dunking. The Tollhouse/chocolate chip cookies? Sure could have used more chocolate chips. The oatmeal cookies? Average. The divinity cookies? Sheer perfection. A crumbly, light butter cookie with walnut chunks. Delicious. My Sweetie opined, «I haven’t had a cookie like this since I was a little kid. I didn’t even know you could find them.» Well, you can. You just have to go to Cle Elum.

This is my favorite morning stop if passing through Cle Elum. The doughnuts are wonderful. I can’t pass up a REAL apple fritter. Yummm! I am a black coffee guy so all I can say is it was hot and good. Grabbed some cookies and a loaf of bread and we were set for the road. Everything baked is great. Service is a little slow, however, they were training someone new. We also picked up a couple of quiches and a breakfast burrito as we still had a long travel day in front of us. I would say they are all right but not great! They are cold and you have to heat them up in the microwave. This is a bakery so this is definitely their weakness.

This bakery and Owen’s are on our«must stops» whenever we are out this way. Our two must-have items are the cheesy garlic bread and divinity cookies. A few trips ago they were out of the divinity cookies. Holy first world problems people! The bf had a full on meltdown the likes of which I hope I never see again. That period of time will forever be known as «The Great Cookie Mishap of 2012». Forget the Mayans, I can predict when the world ends and I know for sure that it is the next time he doesn’t get those damn cookies. And yes, they are that amazing. Luckily they made some more on the last day of our trip. This last time I called ahead and they had them waiting as soon as we got to town. Apocalypse averted. You’re welcome… In addition to cookies and cheesy bread they also have some fantastic donuts and an assortment of jams and honey. The prices are fair and the employees are friendly in that genuine small town way. My only complaints are that they often sell out of things and they aren’t open 24⁄7.

I did a special order for bread for my wedding reception and everyone was very pleased! Fresh baguettes and pre-sliced cinnamon bread! It was helpful ordering in advance, all we had to do was pick it up. They also have DELICIOUS doughnuts there if you’re in the mood to splurge :)

Don’t know what all the raves are about. We were highly disappointed in almost everything we got — the Maple bar(tasted stale), totchetti, butter horn(tasted day old), choc chip cookies(yuk). It was a Sunday — so maybe thing was a day old… thus the reason our items were awful. However, they did had a saving grace — the Divinity Cookie — it was AWESOME(5 stars for the cookie — 0 stars for the rest). Therefore, I would stop here again but only to get the divinity cookie…

Latte: Double shot, Café Vita, perfect temperature. Awesome! Cherry danish: Perfect texture, not cake like or dry. Nice chunks of whole cherries. Fantastic icing. Divinity cookies: OMGOMGOMG: D I grew up eating these! Not the meringue like candy more like a light as air almost crispy but still cake like sugar cookie. Just like I remember. Candied fruit danish: Wow this thing looked weird but it was super delicious. It’s like a cross between a scone and the German holiday bread stollen. This is going to be my first stop after the pass from now on!

First of all, the owners are fantastic individuals and always go the extra mile to make sure we feel welcome. A family owned and run business– and incredibly yummy treats. We also enjoy the Bakery House Café next door. Delicious homemade soup and sandwhiches on fresh bakery bread… We stop each and every time we drive by Cle Elum on our way or even if its not«right on the way» to where we are headed… east of the mountains. It’s a great special treat for our whole family! Thank you, Ivan and Claudia!
