Willette’s Shell Service

This humble she’ll gas station has a full tow service since the 1960’s and will be able to assist any automobile issues.
We were given tips on properly putting on chains on my gti, got the correct tighteners and will promise to drive up to 25 mph with chains.
Also, want to thank Pete and Joe of Roslyn for helping us out with our #2chains. We would have been screwed without their expertise and assistance!

Took care of our oil needs promptly in a pinch. A great stop along I-​90 should you need any impromptu car repairs.

These guys mounted 2 tires on my truck– I made it less than a block before one of those tires had a catastrophic failure. Tire is completely flat. I walked back to the shop where they refused to help me change the tire out for the spare without charging me $ 100/​hr– just so I could get it back to them to find out what happened.
I walk back to the truck, change the tire and return to their shop where we find a shiny new wheel weight impaled in my brand new tire. Just like the half dozen laying on the floor of their shop where they mounted the tire.
The tire cannot be repaired due to the size and shape of the hole, and they refuse to replace my brand new mud tire with less than 20 revolutions on it, saying that the wheel weight could have come from anywhere and that they weren’t liable for it.
No recourse, I just have to eat it. However I’d rather stuff burning hundred dollar bills where the sun doesn’t shine before giving them another cent.
Avoid this establishment like the plague, they’re devoid of anything resembling ethics and make Carnies look reputable and trustworthy by comparison.
My sincere apologies to all the meth addled vagrant performers that travel our fair country for my unfair comparison…

If you’re in Ellensberg, which you should not be unless you have a friend that owns a cabin on a river, and you discover a slow leak on a Sunday, you’re pretty screwed. No one in Ellensberg fixes tires on a Sunday.
But if you can make it the fifteen miles back to Cle Ellum to see these guys, they’ll do it quickly and inexpensively. And that’s this week’s Sunday Travel Tip Of Highly Limited Applicability.

This place has saved me several times now. I have a car with ‘run flat’ tires and Willette’s (the first time) successfully patched my tired. The second incident, I unfortunately had to be towed to Ellensburg to get a special, stocked tire. I just want to say the old fashioned service/​hospitality I truly appreciate. The bathroom was not a masterpiece, but cozy and warm. The vending machine outside offered me my favorite diet coke for only 60 cents. Cherry on top was when they offered me their 2015 calendar — packaged in a nostalgic envelope equipt with a ‘Willette’s’ pen. I love these hard working people and refer them often. They provide all kinds of car service and towing. Thank you for saving me Willette’s!

Charged my wife $ 850 for a battery and an alternator. Parts were $ 230 at the local auto parts store where they purchased them. Not many choices when you are broke down but I recommend getting an estimate before you have them do the work.

Had a flat tire at Wish Poosh campground, pretty much a bummer. We had planned on doing a long trail run before heading back to Seattle and figured that plan was shot and the day (Sunday) would be spent dealing with the tire.
Put on the spare and drove to Cle Elum looking for options. Found Willette’s on our phone and called them up. They said they were open and to come on in. We went in and service was friendly, fast, and great price. We were out the door and back up into the mountains for our run.
Willtett’s saved the day in many ways.

Discovered I had a punctured and completely flat tire after running over something in the campground of the Gorge after Sasquatch Music Festival. After changing to the spare tire myself, we searched all over Ellensburg and Cle Elum for a tire shop, because I had to drive all the way back to San Francisco that day. Willette’s Shell was the only place open on Memorial Day. We were immediately greeted when we pulled in. They had the same size tire (though not the exact tread.) The friendly gentleman replaced the tire and double-​checked all the other tires within 20 minutes. Great customer service. Very fast and efficient.

We had a slow leak in our tire on our trip to Chelan and stopped here for help with our three children. There were lots of helpful and friendly workers who helped us right away. They were even really helpful when our treat got stuck in the vending machine! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
