I would give this place no stars if I could. I am currently in a billing dispute with them where they billed a credit card of mine that WASNOTAUTHORIZED. Do not let them swipe your card! If you do and they say the card did not go through, call your bank/card merchant immediately so that they can’t fraudulently charge you!

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights around New Year’s. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. We had a mini fridge and microwave. Bathroom was pretty small. Continental breakfast each morning. The first morning was the best because it included fruit and yogurt… the next mornings did not have these goodies and we were left with make your own waffle, bread, pastries, boiled eggs, OJ, and milk. Staff was friendly. Parking lot was in definite need of snow removal. About 30 minutes away from Snoqualmie. I was a little worried about train noise based on reviews, but we only heard the whistle twice during our stay.

I do a fair amount of traveling and stayed in many econo type hotels. This one just isn’t that great. We’ll start with the good: –Friendly staff at check in –Inexpensive in relation to other similar type hotels. –Decent comp breakfast The not so good: –The room had a fair amount of ‘bits’ between the furniture and bed. –The shower head was at about 4 ½ FT. I can’t figure out why they do this at some hotels. –The shower curtain was too long by about a foot and was dangerously slippery when stepped on taking a shower. –Couldn’t ever get the room cooler than about 80, even with AC set on 65. –Fitted bed sheets are too small for the tall mattress resulting in them pulling off at night. Then bunching up around you. And finally it has been mentioned in other reviews. Trains. I really don’t think it would make a difference where you are staying in Cle-Elum on this one. You are going to hear the trains blasting their horns throughout the night waking you up with each passing. Overall a pretty disappointing night of not so much sleep. We’ll make our way further to one of the other towns along I-90 next time.

Stayed one night over the first weekend of October. I was grateful to find a room at a later time. The desk person was very professional, efficient, and quick. Was a little surprised to see food still in the common area. Room was relatively cheap(about $ 100,) but it was disappointing. As I settled down for the evening, I noticed that my bedding and a chair cushion seemed stained and the toilet seat unclean. There was a hole in the wall opposite the toilet and another over the shower, both poorly repaired. When I went to get breakfast, it seemed generic and lacked anything hot other then coffee, despite hot breakfast being on their sign. As I left, I overheard other guests commenting about how the side and back entrances were left unlocked overnight, which made me uncomfortable since there was only one lock on my door.

Three HUGE things to note Train at 1:30am Train at 2:30am Train at 3:30am The train horn was like it was going to go through the side of the building. No earplugs could suppress it. And the horn didn’t honk once, it was continuous. This really was a rude awakening. Next the side doors are not locked so anyone can walk about the hotel if they come in them. I minused 3 stars for the trains but I add one back on for a clean room. The next problem, there was no remote to the TV! So you couldn’t watch from bed. This also sucked. The TV is huge with the tube on the back. So whoever said this place was remodeled must be in another decade. The amenities of a fridge and microwave were good yet the tray in my microwave had been replaced so it wasn’t what was supposed to be in there, so it didn’t turn. So I had to open it every few seconds and turn. The fridge ran all night(yeah I could run after it but after the sleeplessness from the trains, no). The doors to the room have a key like a flash drive. It’s weird and my door didn’t shut al the way unless you really pushed or pulled it. There was no double lock so this freaked me out too. All in all I would’ve just liked a clean room and a good nights sleep. At least I got one.

We called ahead and reserved the last room for last night. It was a little pricey but we have two dogs and they waived one of the pet fees. It is a huge room with soft comfortable beds and a nice shower with good water pressure. We had a problem connecting to the WiFi and called the front desk. He fixed the problem promptly. Seems to be a safe area and this is by far the most luxurious econolodge we’ve ever stayed in. Kudos to the cleanliness and the friendly service!

There’s nothing fancy about this place, but it certainly does the job and it does it well. Clean rooms with AC, friendly staff(they even let us go check out the rooms to pick which one we wanted) free breakfast(waffles, cereal, muffins, toast coffee, juice) and reasonable prices. We paid $ 84/night for the queen room. Not bad. If you’re driving through Cle Elum then this place is A-OK. Also a plus, the Cottage Café is right across the street and open til midnight. They have some good food.
