It’s alright — that’s it. We tried meatloaf, catfish, chicken tenders, and mac/cheese bites… all were so-so in regards to flavor and texture. Meatloaf was really finely ground, so it was kind of mushy. Fish batter was kind of plain, but the fish was a good, plump fillet. Portions were good and service was good. Cute restaurant, but prices are too high for so-so food. We paid $ 40+ for 2 adult entrees, 1 kids entrée and 1 appetizer — no drinks.

We saw this little place when we stopped to get gas. For a Saturday night, they weren’t extremely busy. We were seated right away and everyone was very friendly. The service, food, and cost were great. We only had one small complaint, it was very cold inside. Granted, it was only 12 degrees outside, but it was still difficult to take our coats off when it was time to eat. With having two small children, the waitress even let us know before leaving that Tuesday nights were kids eat free night with the purchase of an entrée. Overall, this place still gets a five star rating and we will be back.

Brunch was very good. Everything was clean and our waitress was fantastic. It’s a nice place to have dinner with friends. I’ll be back for dinner.

This restaurant is good considering other restaurants in the Winchester area. We usually go for brunch on Sundays. The food is tasty and the service has been good. Tonight we had dinner… fried chicken for my husband and squash risotto for myself. I can’t believe that they served a half a chicken fried(my husband ate it all). The risotto was tasty and there was plenty of it. We aren’t in an area to be described as a «culinary paradise» so I would recommend this restaurant.

So– this is a traditional country home-cooked fried food kind of place, but the interior is updated and it’s quite comfortable in there. Only complaints would be that it was a bit understaffed for the amount of patrons on a Saturday morning. That resulted in slow time to get the bill and water refills. My boyfriend and I split the frog legs. Very classic flavor, with a nice sriracha mayo dipping sauce. They were good. He ordered a burger and chips; I ordered chicken salad in a wrap and French fries. The burger tasted great, lots of flavor. My chicken salad was pretty good too. Plates were hot when they came out, so I was pleased. The Woolen Mills grill seemed to have a daily good wine and beer list, albeit not extensive, and the bar looked well stocked. There’s also a nice patio outside to eat on. The interior is all wooden and I liked it. I’m actually really excited to try the breakfasts and brunch. Our waitress did have a bit of over-disclosure about staffing, we thought, but she made up for our wait times and lack of refilled drinks by giving us a meal discount and a 10-off-30 coupon for the next time we came. We’ll be back.

I would give this a 5 star review for the quality of the food and the price, except for 2 minor complaints, which I will get to. But more importantly — the tuna melt was the best I’ve ever had. It’s so huge you can split it with someone. Great homemade potato chips, too. Was disappointed they didn’t have fried green tomatoes on a weekend, stating they would not have more til Tuesday. Just go buy tomatoes! You’re near so many farms! Well, anyway, the server was fantastic and my boyfriend had a headache and she was such a sweetie and offered him Tylenol. My other minor complaint was that the kitchen was a bit slow. But the server made up for it. I can’t remember her name. Wish I did because she was so awesome.

Fried chicken was very dry & mashed potatoes were not good. Pulled pork sliders had a funny taste. Crab cakes were good, but they were out of coleslaw and when asked if I could sub mushrooms instead, was told it was only«a garnish» and so it was just left off. French fries were ok. Ordered a salad and it came 5 minutes after our meals arrived. Tried to order meatloaf, but 10 minutes after placing the order, was told it would be a really long time and should probably order something else. Server was nice, but service was slow due to not enough help and the kitchen was slow, even at an early evening hour. Our bill was $ 68 for 2 adults and a child, not including tip. Appetizer, 2 sodas, 2 adult meals, one tapas, soup/salad…don’t mind paying more if the food is great., but food here is sub par. Only one stall in ladies bathroom had toilet paper and the bathroom floor was dirty. Very disappointing first visit. Will not return.

The shrimp and grits was not that great. I’ve had better before and it was also less expensive. However, the service was good.

5 of us for dinner before doing the Christmas lights at Clear Brook Park. We waited 45 minutes for our food and when it arrived the mashed potatoes and fries were cold and the chicken tenders were all bread. Beware of the jalapeño butter! Two other parties in the restaurant complained loudly about both service and food and were offered free desserts. We just paid our bill, left a minimum tip and won’t be back. We’re local so we’ll share our experience w/friends and neighbors.

Tried this place before going to the park for the Christmas light show. Not impressed. Won’t be back. Too much breading on the fried chicken and greasy. Frog legs were the same. Nice rustic atmosphere though.

We stopped here for late lunch on a Sunday and loved it! Beautifully restored building, cozy atmosphere, friendly and quick service. I got pork sliders and sweet potato fries as well as the macaroni bites. My fiancé got a burger. We enjoyed everything! We will be back.

Great little place on route 11. I had a burger which was delicious while my mother had a Reuben. My only issue is that our sandwiches could been a tad bigger and they skimped on the steak fries. Other than that, it was great.

Good food and plenty of it, but service was horrible. We had to wait so long for even drinks. Not sure but iffy going back.
