I paid $ 110 for a room that should have cost about half that. It was a busy night, and many hotels in the area were sold out. Given that supply and demand affects hotel rates, this was not the first time I’d ever been charged the high end. It happens. And that’s not the reason for the one star review. After a fairly decent sleep, I woke early in the morning to the room phone ringing. Voice on the other end: «Who are you… what room are you supposed to be in?» Me: «Umm, I’m in the room I was assigned to. You know, the one I was given a key card too?» The woman calling me then explained she was calling from the front desk and their paperwork was«all messed up» and according to her information, I was supposed to be in another room. Bear in mind, her phone call did NOT start with«Hello» or «this is the front desk» or «sorry if I woke you, but I’m trying to figure something out». No, somehow her confusion was my fault and I was being scolded. Upon check-out I stopped at the front desk, where I met Kelsei(forgive me if I have spelled her name wrong). She was the one who called me. I asked for a receipt as I wanted to make sure I wasn’t getting billed for two rooms. She acted like I was crazy for suggesting any such thing could happen. But after her wake-up call, I wasn’t so sure. She went on to blame the night manager Jeff who had checked me in. I happened to have liked him very much. Kelsei’s attitude was awful, and to be frank, the situation did not bring out the best in me either. To Kelsei’s credit, I noticed she was running the front desk AND cleaning the rooms. This particular hotel is waaay too large to have a morning manager who is also the cleaning lady. If a manager/owner should read this: please get some help and maybe some training for your staff. There are some indications this hotel is trying to rise above the flea bag level. Some walls in my room and in the lobby had recently been painted, and my bathroom was really clean, but my room still had a sofa that was SOOO filthy, dirty, old, and stained that I wouldn’t even ask Kelsei to sit on it. Again, for the manager: if a piece of furniture is disgusting, just toss it. It detracts from the other efforts to improve the hotel. My room would have looked ten times better without the sofa in it.

We stay here while traveling to see family in the area. The hotel overall is nice, clean and all around a good stay. I don’t there there’s too many options in the area and when we are here, we really spend more time with the family than at the hotel. It’s nice, I would hope their breakfast would be a bit more. That’s about all though

Returned to the motel after picking up dinner to eat in my room, I asked the front clerk if I could get some milk from the breakfast area to go with my meal. She said that’s for breakfast but I could sell you a couple. Wow, talk about cheap.
