Stopped for a quick break on a road trip. The gas was cheaper than I had seen on the road yet. The place is busy with a little Subway counter tucked in the back. It still carries all the other gas station needs. They have showers and a game room if you need them. The bathrooms(women’s) was really nice and kept clean. Parking is too be desired but who is staying around that long?

I have been stopping at this Pilot Travel Center for years! Not because they had spray cologne in the mens bathroom,(newly remodeled) or plush toys and books on tape you can buy! I stop here strictly cause it’s right off the exit, the gas is usually cheaper and they have great COFFEE! Pilot easily has the best gas station coffee besides QuikTrip. The staff here is always nice and helpful, they have a Subway in house if your co-pilot is hungry and they have healthy snacks, like bananas, Cliff bars, and you can even make your own Oatmeal! Like I said the bathrooms are newly remodeled so they are nicer then before. It’s always very clean and a nice half way stop to Minneapolis from Des Moines!

As I stated in a previous review, I like truck stops. It’s a whirling dervish of changing personalities that makes for great shopping and people watching. So what makes them so great? Oh you know, weird trinkets, cheap cd’s, containers that allow you piss in them while driving. You know what I’m saying. It’s like an interstate version of Ax Man surplus. You can get lights, car dvd players, whatever. I personally am always on the quest of finding local brands of potato chips and jerky and I wasn’t disappointed. If you see a pilot store on your travels, it’s worth a stop.
