I’ve eaten here many times. It is always great. I really like the nachos with everything on them! The only problem I’ve had was I ordered water with lemon and I started drinking in, and noticed it wasn’t clear and tasted funny. I told the waitress and she said it was unsweetened tea… Hahaha. I don’t know how tea was mistaken for water when I ordered… If it WAS tea, it was pretty weak tea. ;-)

I’ve eaten here more times than I can count. I moved here from LA and love authentic Mexican. Since moving to Utah, I have eaten more Mexican food here than all the other places in Utah combined. It is definitely authentic. The carnitas is so so good. My in-laws are from south Texas right on the border and when I had this restaurant cater a dinner at my house, they were coming back for seconds and thirds and couldn’t stop raving how they haven’t had food like this since they moved away from the border.

Legit, Legit, Legit… And Legit. I don’t know how else I can say it. I grew up on the border. Brownsville, Tx for those who actually care to know. I grew up on Tex-mex. it was part of or school lunches, not to mention neighborhood and church bbq’s. Point is, I know my Mexican food. And I was so excited when this place was being built. It reminds me of this little restaurant in Los Fresnos– same look and vibe. And sooo good. I read trough some of the negative reviews, and then understood them: people complaining about quesadillas that weren’t crispy, or about rice or beans that«had no flavor». So, Let’s be clear: if you like the crunchy taco shells and red sauce you’d get on everything at Taco Bell or «taco cabana»(which someone recommended over this)– then you may not like this place. This just means you like Americanized Mexican food. Not Mexican food, not even Tex-mex. It’s all about the meat, tortillas, salsa, and the guacamole. Both of which are perfectly prepared here. Not sure what someone was complaining about with the salsa. It’s amazing across the board. The beans taste like: beans. refried beans, Mexican style. Meaning not all that weird red sauce that Taco Bell puts in everything. The rice tastes like: legit Mexican rice. Meaning it’s also not overloaded with sauces and flavors. It’s not meant to be! It’s rice! With a hint of seasoning. Anyway, if you want Tex-mex like the kind that I had growing up in Brownsville, Texas(google it), then try this place out. If you’re expecting flavors like Taco Bell or taco cabana, you’re likely to be disappointed.

Was ok — nothing grande about it. Pretty average Mexican food. The chimichanga was soft not crispy like I had hoped. The carnitas were pretty good.

Meh! I stopped by for lunch on my way back to work. The price was decent for a lunch menu(2 cheese quesadillas, rice, and beans) but the food was average if not below average in flavor. Presentation was poor(quesadillas were beyond soft with no texture; resembled the same liquidity texture of the refried beans). Preparation was fast since I went through the drive through. Since this was my first time I have nothing to compare to with any other visit to this establishment.

Was pretty disappointed. I got the chile verde burrito and it was pretty much all potatoes and rice. It was very bland. Also i have never had chile verde with potatoes which i found odd. It was almost like a filler to give you less chile verde. The staff was friendly but they did hover a little and was uncomfortable for me and my wife. My wife also did not enjoy her food. I would give a better rating if the food wasn’t so bad. Staff was 4 stars.

Not a great experience. First they brought out the wrong order. Secondly, out of the orders that did come out correctly they only came out partially correct. I had ordered the flour tortillas for the enchiladas and I got the corn tortillas. My wife on the other hand had ordered two corn tortillas on the side and got the flour tortillas. The waitress also forgot our drinks and I had to remind her to get them, and it wasn’t till the end of the meal that we remembered that she had also forgotten the drink that came with the kids meal so we got it to go as we walked out the door. All of this may be not a huge deal but when I got my enchiladas they were cold in the middle. The cheese enchilada in particular was not melted in the least bit. Cheese in a tortilla is not rocket science. Also, after the food came we had to go back and grab the waitress to get silverware. We won’t be going back.

Kind of serviceable but nothing special. Stopped in for dinner. The complementary salsa and chips was very minimal(a condiment cup size of red salsa and then a slightly larger container of house green). I ordered a carne asade burrito – the carne asada was pretty good but the burrito itself was very doughy. Guasamole was okay.

«Meh. I’ve experienced better.» Much, much better. I understand that I’m a native Houstonian that frequently devours legit Tex-mex. That doesn’t change that this is just bad food with zero effort from a chef and straight from a can. After a day at Antelope Island, we were hungry and the amount of open restaurants was dwindling quickly. I had promised myself that I would not attempt Mexican food in Utah again, but the reviews were so great that we decided to go for it. I started with a margarita that tasted like pure sugar with no alcohol, so I ask for a shot to put into it. Utah state law prohibits any customer from«having two drinks at once» so I could not get a shot to make my margarita actually have any alcohol in it. I understand that this is state law, but they need to make margaritas that have alcohol in them if they want anybody to order it. I switch to a bottled Bud Light since I know they can’t mess that up. The chips are okay. I’m holding a chip and see a little bug on it. It’s completely possible that I carried the bug in from my adventures on the island, so I just set it aside and grab a different chip. The salsa was something from a can and a mediocre canned something(there are so many canned salsas, just pick a good one!). I order a variety plate and my mom gets a burrito. I can’t remember if it was the rice or beans that had absolute zero flavor, but neither of them did a lot for me so I only had a few bites of each. The enchilada got two bites and I ate my entire crispy taco. It was messy, but I liked how the meet was prepared. It was mixed with a sauce, which really turned me off at first, but when I got rid of some of the peppers, the flavor was pleasant. My mom was a champ and ate a decent amount of her burrito. There was no comment about liking or hating it, she just shrugged when I asked then mentioned how the meat was prepared(translation: a positive for the meat prep). Meat mixture good, bottled beer good, other things bad. You’re better off going to a Taco Cabana.

We were in the area checking out Antelope Island and wanted a bite to eat for lunch. We got lucky when we chose this place. Fantastic food, inexpensive, and the people working there were really friendly.

I really like the atmosphere. The beans are really good, the rice is okay. The shredded beef is good too. The carne Asada is average. I would recommend the beef chimichanga. It’s loaded with guacamole an huge! The margaritas are pretty good and food portions are good size. The only thing I didn’t like was the cheese enchilada. It had no sauce on it and I was kinda disappointed and the taquitos didn’t taste fried– more of a baked texture. Overall it’s pretty good Mexican food for being in Utah. I will be back!
