The pork chops I had for dinner were excellent, lean and nicely seasoned. I ate one and doggy-bagged the second one for another meal. The vegetables offered that evening were a combination of broccoli, carrots and cauliflower with the option of choosing one, two or all. I chose the broccoli which was bright green and cooked to the right amount of doneness. The next morning. I ordered blueberry pancakes for breakfast. I doggy-bagged one of them immediately because they were H-U-G-E. The pancake was loaded with fresh blueberries. The waitstaff were pleasant and accommodating. Sabina waited on us at dinner. I don’t remember the name of the waitress who served us for breakfast. She was equally pleasant and accommodating. For a casual dining establishment, this one earns a solid 5 star rating.

I had read about the restaurant on Unilocal and decided to give a try while visiting a friend in Clearlake. We were going to have the Prime Rib. The menu said it was served on weekends. Upon entering the restaurant I saw a Daily Specials white board that said no prime rib tonight. Strike 1. I ordered the salmon since it was also pictured on Unilocal. When the salad come it was old not fresh. Strike 2. The salmon was overcooked and dry. Strike 3.

We live in Clearlake and were in the mood for some steak and seafood. We were on our way to Lakeport(½ hour drive) to check out a new joint when we popped in here on the way out of town to check out the menu. We had eaten at Anjali’s only rarely in the past so had no idea what their Friday specials were like. Boy were we glad we stopped! The salmon was cooked perfectly, juicy & flavorful with a wonderful crisp on the outside edges perfectly seasoned with lemon pepper. The clam chowder was excellent as the waitress advised, creamy and hot. My husband’s prime rib was cooked perfectly as well just bursting with flavor. The portion sizing was dead on, we had some leftovers but not too much. They were very nice in splitting my children’s adult order ordered for two children giving each child their own side and plate instead of handing us a plate and knife and telling us to split it. You can tell in the pictures the chef took pleasure in making our food with the personal touches of parsley sprinkled on the edges of the plate to make it look more artistic and the way he set up the design. Both orders came with home cooked vegetables(better than I can make at home) which were juicy and flavorful all on their own. Add to that the service was excellent, waitress kept our glasses full. I can’t understand why the place was so empty on a Friday night but I can tell you that we will be going back!

This place is pretty good, but a bit uneven, overall a bit basic in food, and a bit drab, stark, and generic inside. However, we were fairly dubious about the place when we first arrived and overall it was a pleasant experience, making this a reliable place to go when in Clear Lake. We were there for lunch on a Saturday. The food included really good hamburgers, good fries, and a simple but very good, basic tuna sandwich. Iced tea was unusually full-bodied and flavourful. However, fried shrimp seemed underwhelming, seeming a bit like frozen; chicken cordon bleu sandwich was not at all chicken cordon bleu since it was not fried or breaded and did not have ham or cheese. Instead, it was little more than a basic piece of grilled plain chicken breast with some sort of dressing, lettuce, tomato, and basic bread. It was reasonably good, but not what the name indicates and very bland and boring. Coffee was decent but thin and basic. They have no soup on weekends, allegedly because of the time to make it, but that seems odd. They have desserts, apparently, only at dinner, which also is unimpressive. Service was effective enough but not great, a bit unhelpful. The place is sparse, plain, and drab inside, but ok. Again, to sum, this place is reasonably good and does some things well, while nothing was bad. My wife wants to give it a 3.5 but I think that 3 is reasonable absent further experience. My sandwich would rate probably a 2.5 and I would not get it again if I had a choice, but it certainly was not actually«bad.»

Great service from Joel at the bar. I had chicken Marsala and Pinot noir. Here’s a place to set into your Garmin.
