Boardwalk Pizza and Gyros

I honestly did not know you could make pizza dough out of powered chalk and water, or at least that’s what it tasted like. It was burnt, hard, flavorless, and super crusty. There were spots where it was so thin, that the crust tore away from the rest of the slice when you picked it up.
The most disappointing part was that the sauce and all the toppings we had were really good, but the actual pizza that they sat on was just gross. For the price we paid, it just was not worth it at all. I mean, the pizza was so tough that we could barely cut through it was a knife and fork. Trader Joe’s and Publix frozen pizzas both have better and tastier crusts.
Another let down was the seating. I thought this place was going to be a regular restaurant, but I think it’s mainly designed for mostly doing a lot of takeout business. There were like 4 – 5 tables inside and a few out on their porch. One of the tables was taken up by an employee folding delivery boxes, but seeing as this was during dinner time I couldn’t understand why it wasn’t done earlier in the day.
The seating area is like a thin rectangular hallway where every new group coming in, every person getting a drink, or everyone leaving passes right directly by you. So every few minutes you have someone dumping into your table, or standing over you, or trying to pass by another group going the opposite direction.
However, if you don’t mind overpriced mediocre pizza in an extremely claustrophobic environment then, this could be the place for you. Otherwise, I’d go somewhere else.

Boardwalk is the most authentic NY Style pizza you are going to find in Countryside. Food is always good, always fresh, and at a good price.

As someone who has worked in the food industry for many years, I normally never like to comment on a resstaurant based on one experience. Unfortunately this was a must, bad service from the start with my interaction with the cashier to my disappointment with the quality of the pizza. Cheap tasting ingredients and bad customer service. Do not recommend in the slightest.

Saw the reviews and drove out of my way for this pizza. The staff was nice but the pizza was greasy. I’m not a fan of this pizza or the crust.

I died and went to heaven! There pizza was outstanding. The pizza arrived earlier then I was told, the delivery man was very nice the pizza was hot and delicious. I have found my new pizza joint! Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu.

Yesterday, my work offered pizza from here. I’m not a huge fan of pizza, but after one slice of the cheese pizza I am HOOKED! I can’t wait to order a pizza from Boardwalk, tonight for dinner. I can’t speak for the customer service but the pizza was damn good! Everyone at work couldn’t stop talking about it! They say it’s Newyork style… What ever it is I want more!

They deliver and the pizza is excellent, great flavor. The only thing we had to do is reheat it. We have been there several times and even though they are close, it is always nice to be able to have it delivered.

Horrible experience the manager was very rude. Our pizza took an hour when they said 45 mins, when we called to find out where it was the cashier said it will be there any min and after ten mins no food. We called again just together the cashier to talk shit when she didn’t put us on hold and the manager screaming in the background it will be there soon, to waiting another 5 mins for the order to get here. I called to speak with the manager and he was very rude. I don’t know how you run a business being such an asshole. Never will I eat there again. Pizza was cold by the way

Always great food whether it’s a traditional cheese pie, a hearty calzone, or the gooey garlic knots. Antipasto salad is the right mix of meats and greens. Dino got the concept right and we’ve been coming since they opened their door a few years ago!

I really wanted to like this place. The staff was friendly and helpful but the food was just not that great. The garlic knots were extremely greasy and served in a pool of butter. The pizza we had was below average. I will say that they don’t skimp on cheese or toppings though which is nice. Would be willing to give them another shot. Maybe just get a slice or two before buying a whole pie.

I love the pizza here. It’s very tasty and the cheese is awesome. I also has the wings last time and they do make great wings. We come here frequently and like it a lot. Getting ready to order dinner now.

Have done many takeout pizza and gyros… and a few lunch specials with the 2 slices and a drink… best pizza around… pretty close to the NY pizza that I remember growing up… if you really like garlic… get the knots… amazing…
Go try Boardwalk Pizza next time you are wanting some!

The pizza here was pretty good. Definitely not the best but it is worth trying. I can say that it is one of the better pizza spots in the Tampa Bay Area. I like the fact that they offer 20″ pies, which not too many places around here offer. I would return if I’m ever in the area wanting pizza.

I was introduced to Boardwalk when visiting a friend they ordered delivery from Boardwalk. One bite and I was hooked.
Tonight, I headed back to pick my own large pie and same delicious result on a Friday night. Boardwalk also has an extensive menu of sandwiches. Open late. I’ll be back. Located in a shopping center directly South of Countryside Mall on the «boardwalk.»

The meat lovers stromboli was decent. The chicken parmegiana ziti was good. I dig the 50cent wing Wednesdays deal. And the pizza was… overall quality was… taste was… service was ok… but the wait for the food was a bit long.

Ordered several items to go… 2-​slice & drink deal ($ 5.99), very large slices; great deal! Cheesesteak sandwich, better than average. Buffalo chicken sandwich, good. Chicken Parmesan pasta, good. Antipasto salad. All food was in generous portions for the price, but the consensus from all of us was the taste was just ok, nothing spectacular. We did have to wait quite a while (about 45 mins) for the order, but Dino made up for it with an extra slice of pizza, which because of the slice sizes was pretty nice.
Staff was courteous, place was clean, and overall a better than average experience. Hence, 4-​stars. We’ll be back again.

I was craving a gyro over the weekend and I had been told this place had fairly good ones. I never got that far though, I came in, sat down RIGHT across from the front counter, made plenty of eye contact with a bald guy behind the counter and a blond girl also behind the counter… And waited… And waited… And waited. There was also a young guy flitting about the dining area, working. And I waited… Still waiting here… Made more eye contact with the people behind the counter and still no service, still no menu.
I got up and walked out.
While googling another place to get a good gyro in my area I saw the bald guy come outside on the boardwalk and call someone on his cellphone. I guess the other 2 or 3 customers still inside had to fend for themselves…
Meanwhile I went down to Louis Pappas Market Café and had a delicious gyro… in fact it is where I wrote this review. Sorry Boardwalk, I will NOT be back and I will STRONGLY recommend to family and friends to stay away unless they just dig crappy customer service.

I gave this place a second chance after eating here 6 months ago. I guess I was hoping it would be better the second time around. Sadly, it was not.
The pizza is bland, nothing special and the place is dirty, dark and small. The menu lists Sicilian crust pizza by the slice but for the second time in a row I was told «we don’t have any today». This time I asked «why not?» the girl replied «we only have it on Friday». Hmmm… That’s strange. It doesn’t say that on the menu or anywhere else in the restaurant.
Bottom line, until things improve here, I won’t be back.
