3 stars because well the only thing that was enjoyable(for me) was the beer. It’s a hard place to find if you haven’t been before. It’s behind Cody’s, but oddly attached? Not sure on that. Nice outdoor patio and when you walk in you enter an awkward moment. It really is a spot for locals and regulars. The bartender was the only one working the floor and patio, it’s kinda cool they allow dogs inside and out. All I saw were little dogs, not sure big dog policy. So our first option was Red Robin, but my husband wanted to come here after he saw it on the list. I wasn’t feeling the food options. So my husband orders the Pub burger and a side of sweet potato fries. I waited a bit and before his food came out I ordered steak fries with queso dip. Literally over 20 minutes until they came out… and they were so overdone. I could tell before I even started to eat. I ate about 2 or 3 and could t handle it anymore. They were burnt and dry in the center. I’m used to a different type of steak fries. You know, the generic type you get at places or in the stores. But this was literally a potato cut length wise into wedges and fried up. My husband said his burger was ok for the $ 3 happy hour special. Come for their beer for sure. Can’t say I’ll be back.

This place is awesome! I wished I lived in Tampa so I could come here more often :) Had a graduation party out on the patio on a Saturday afternoon. Daniel was our server and can’t say enough great things about him! The food was good and so was the beer. We played games and everyone had a great time. It’s the perfect place to go hangout with your friends and family to just relax and have fun. I will make sure to stop here whenever I go visit my family in Tampa!

If you like hoppy IPAs, I’d stay away since not one of them was hoppy. If you like beers that taste like French toast, peanut butter donut or watermelon, then this is the place for you. They will give you samples in Dixie cups for how ever many you want, which is nice.

The Bloddy Marys were perfect as were the steak fajitas. Had a fabulous time out on the patio/beer garden. Can’t wait for our best frIends to join us out there next time with their 4 legged friend(the beer garden is DOGFRIENDLY). Our server was also the bartender, yet we were never neglected or wanting of anything. Truly enjoyed talking to «Bobby» and encouraged him to go ahead with that ‘Cigar Night’ plan! We will be back again and again — as soon as the weather cooperates.(Although the inside is nice as well.)

WEJUSTREALIZEDTHATSEADOGHAS A TASTINGROOMINTHEBACKOFCODY’S. This review is for CODY’S. This is a totally different place now. Came in to find it’s a chain restaurant that serves«some» Sea Dog beers. Ordered the blueberry, only to have Courtney come back to say they sold out last night-this was after saying it was the best seller — poor management if you run out of your best seller! No samplers, happy hour 2 for 1MUST be two of the same. Ended up drinking water. Husband ordered a beer that was okay. We ordered some wings a LONG time ago, still haven’t arrived… The unique appetizers of Sea Dog Brewery are gone, very run of the mill menu that could have been any chain. Haven’t seen our waitress for awhile, poorest service I’ve had on this trip! A runner just brought our appetizers, set them in front of us like they were dinners. Had to flag down someone and ask for small plates. My recommendation, avoid and drive over to Cigar City Brewpub for good beer, fabulous food and superior service.

Over the last few months, Sea Dog has been undergoing some major changes, we found them while they were in the middle of construction and they didn’t have a restaurant. So this review is based entirely on their beer room. First of all, Sea Dog does wheat right. Holy crud, I really do love all of their beers, if you stop by to try one out — ask for half blueberry and half sunfish, if you like citrus and refreshing wheat beers, this mixture won’t disappoint. The back room is all that has been open the past few months as they are remodeling, and you’ll find a big leather couch, a few comfy chairs as well as some traditional bar stools and tables/chairs. Outside is a little patio area where dogs are welcome, they have some big games and it’s a very comfortable little hang out spot. Between 3 – 7 Tuesday-Friday is happy hour, you can get $ 3 pints, so be sure to stop by and give it a try. My partner and I frequent this location and bring our books to unwind after work with a beer or two.

Outstanding food, beer, and service!!! Had their Oktoberfest beer and it was delicious. Would have love to try their hazelnut beer but they were out. Managers were always engaged with every table which I have barely seen in a restaurant. I will come back to try some of their other beers prior to leaving Florida. I highly recommend drinking and eating here. I have tagged a photo of the burger I had. Sorry I do not remember the name of it.

Pleasantly surprised by this new brewery here in town. The place was big and clean and had a nice feel to it. All the beers on tap were very good and we tried as many as we could with samplers. Decent food selection. Tried the oysters and enjoyed them. Looks like there is a nice outdoor area, but it was cold so we stayed inside. Nice private room in the back for large parties and good amount of new, flat screen TVs. Service was fine and actually met one of the owners and he was very polite. Wishing much them much success with their brand!

As a HUGE fan of Sea Dog Blueberry Ale, I really wanted to enjoy this gastropub. With many hard to find Sea Dog varieties on draft, it may make it worth your while, but the food is terrible. Eat before you go. The establishment is kid-friendly with a large outside dining area for more rambunctious, active children. On the day my family I visited during Spring Break, they were offering an egg hunt for children of all ages. A gift shop on site offers many items for the Sea Dog lover.

Rarely do I give negative reviews, but I truly feel the need to warn people about this place, where I encountered terrible customer service, a painfully slow and inattentive waitress who ended up mixing up our checks(badly), and really awful food. We had conch fritters to start, which were 95% dough and batter, where the outside was almost over cooked while the inside was practically cold. For my entrée, I went with the apricot chicken sandwich which had an amazing description but proved to be utterly bland and over-cooked. My boyfriend ordered the IPA chicken which he described, simply, as «gross.» I took a bite of his mashed potatoes, and found them to be cold. To end on a positive note, the French onion soup was pretty good… especially compared to everything else we tasted.

To make a long story short, I go here every Tuesday after my American Running Company/Sea Dog Run Group training run! I have my fave Sea Dog’s Blue Paw Wild Blueberry Ale as a reward! If you’re lucky, you can hit them when they are tapping a fresh specialty brew like a «mojito ale» or a «creamsicle!» I love the layout of the restaurant and we rock the patio! I can also attest to some great food here. The Lobster Quesadilla, Conch Fritters, & Chicken Wings(Blueberry BBQ sauce is crazy good!) are just some of my fave appetizers! The Lobster Bisque is very nice. Got salad? The Spinach, Strawberry, & Bleu Cheese Salad is my choice! I’ve had the BBQ Shrimp & Bacon Cheddar Grits and they are damn good as I’ve tried this dish in so many states, I’ve lost count! The Dog also has a Maine Lobster Roll. I’ve heard from people that live in New England think this is the real deal. I’m willing to try it AND the Lobster Mac & Cheese very soon! Even their pizzas rock hard! I must thank the entire staff & management. They treat our group right and when I’ve come as a regular customer. Sea Dog also jumped right in and is supporting the community in various ways! It’s one of my fave places to chill! Yes, they can be crowded on the weekends. That’s why I do the week nights! ;-P

I’ve been here 5 or 6 times now, and I went again tonight for the final time. I have been less and less impressed with each visit, and enough is enough. The reasons for harsh criticism are… 1) The food is WAY over priced. $ 12 — $ 15 for sandwiches and burgers? Way too high. In general, all the prices are $ 3 – 4 too high for bar food, especially considering the quality(see #2). 2) The food has never been great, and my experiences have ranged from pretty decent to not good at all. I don’t eat chicken wings, but my friends have told me their wings taste like they were right from a frozen bag and put in the microwave. I had the pretzel rolls tonight, and the cheese sauce was cold, lumpy, and too salty. It seemed fairly likely that is poured from a plastic container and into the microwave. Quite terrible. My «flatbread» pizza was a joke. It absolutely 100% was a frozen crust, with toppings put on. To even intimate that this is an authentic«flatbread» pizza is absurd. 3) The service is SO slow! Our waiter took our drink orders, then it took at least 10 minutes to bring our drinks. Then he disappeared for 20 minutes and he never came by our table or even looked in our direction. We finally were able to put it our food order… then our appetizers came out in literally 3 minutes. Microwaved? I dare say so. How could pretzels get baked and cheese sauce made so quickly without the microwave? When we were finally done eating, we asked for the check but it never came. 15 minutes later we asked again, and he finally brought them. The waiter walked by numerous times, never looked at us or picked up the credit cards. I had to walk over to the waiter station and give them to him. 4) Overbearing management /hostesses. We walked in and the guy holding the door greeted us, the hostess at the desk, another hostess just past the desk, and then another manager or something in the bar area. We had to say«hello, we’re meeting someone at the bar» 4 times. Two different managers insisted on coming to our table to ask if we needed anything every 3 minutes. It’s nice to be checked on, but we were continually interrupted by them and it really got annoying. 5) The beer was not cold. Something wrong with their refrigeration maybe? I don’t know, but it’s not cold enough. 6) The restaurant is too warm. Maybe it’s the open side of the bar that leads to the outdoor patio. But it was about 10 degrees too warm in there, and I had sweat rolling down my back. 7) Cigarrete smoke from the outdoor patio coming in through the bar. This should never happen. I don’t care where it is coming from, but I shouldn’t have to smell smoke inside the restaurant. There are a lot of reasons why I am giving a bad rating, but the bottomline is that the food is sub-par and it’s too overpriced.

Free drink ladies night on Thursdays? Yes please! My friend and I randomly wandered in here around 8:30 p.m. on a Thursday. The high tops are find your own seating and it was not crowded at all. We were quickly told that it was ladies night, which means $ 5 grey goose martinis, buy one get two wells, $ 5 frozen drinks and then at 9 p.m. there were free wells, house wines, and certain beers. Can you say winning? This was the perfect place to sit and catch up with your girl friends. It didn’t really matter to us that is was basically empty by midnight, we were entertaining ourselves. We also tried the buffalo dip. It came with pita bread(I think because it came off of the late night menu that starts at 10 p.m. or else it normally comes with chips), celery, and carrots. Usually I’m not a fan of buffalo sauce, but it was pretty good. I thought the blue cheese on the top really added something. I can see that they mean for this place to become a popular nighttime hangout spot. It is huge inside and there is a nice outside patio area. The decoration and vibe is really cool. I think once construction slows down around the area that more people will come and appreciate this place.

I’m not in Clearwater very often so I jumped at the chance to go to Sea Dog Brewing Company this past weekend when I was in CLW to go furniture shopping. I have been a fan of their blueberry beer for a long time, so I was excited to try the other beers and the food. I was not disappointed! I liked the atmosphere in here. This place is really large with a bar area, restaurant area, and private room. I asked for a beer flight with Raspberry, Apricot, Blonde, and Light. I especially enjoyed the Raspberry but all were good. I have been obsessed with French Onion Soup lately and this met my high expectations. For my main course, I had the Steak Tip Artichoke Salad. A Greek salad. With steak. Two of my loves combined. I would like to come back for Happy Hour sometime as they appear to have pretty good specials and I bet their dinner entrees are pretty legit! 4 stars!

We pulled in on a whim. I’m not a beer drinker but I love bar food. This place looked new and interesting. I had just gone to Tampa Bay Brewing Company the other day, so I could compare the food. Sorry, I can’t compare the beers. I’m not into that. The pretzel sticks are so so, but the cheese dip that comes with them is awesome. I ordered calamari but asked they omit the tentacles. I’m just not into them. They gladly accommodated me. They get brownie points for good customer service. We opted for some nachos and a pressed Cuban. I knew it wouldn’t be an authentic Cuban, but I wanted to try it nonetheless. The sandwich was pretty good. If they added some salami, they could get away will calling it a Cuban. As it stands now, its a decent ham, pork and Swiss cheese sandwich. But it was advertised that way so I knew it going in. B+ for the sandwich. The onion rings that came with it were AWESOME! The nachos were a different story. They looked beautiful. A+ for presentation. Take a look at the pics. But when we tried them the pulled pork was cold. Delicious, but cold. We told our sever and he immediately took them back and brought us another one. But the second order was also cold. Third time was the charm though. This time the pork was warm. The nachos are definitely a order worthy item. If they can figure out how to put hot(temperature) pork on them. We finished off the meal with an apple crisp dessert topped with vanilla ice cream. It was very good. So I am giving it 4 stars. 3 stars for the food, but an extra star for the outstanding service. Our waiter was very prompt and always checked up on us often. He comped us the nachos, which i thought was very thoughtful. I will come back to try the pizza and the burgers. They looked interesting. The place is huge and the atmosphere was a bit noisy with some DJ doing a trivia game and the music was a bit loud. But it’s a brew pub, so it’s supposed to be noisy.

I have been excited to try Seadog Brewpub since it opened because I am a huge Seadog fan. We arrived about 8pm on a Wed and while they were busy, there were not packed like friends have told me they normally are. This place is huge! You would have to have a lot of people inside for them to have a wait. We decided just to sit at the bar. We started with a pint each($ 4.50 each) and then decided to order some flights(I don’t remember how much they were). We were waited on by three different employees that were walking by behind the bar and they were great. They were also free with samples and recommendations. We decided to order some food and tried the pulled pork nachos. They were good, but not great. I did enjoy the bbq sauce on them and would like to try it on a burger. My Husband then ordered the Buffalo Chicken dip which he did not care for. He said it was too strongly flavored. We had another pint each and then headed out for the night. While we weren’t impressed with the food, we enjoyed the bar. We would definitely come back again.

Decided to try to give this place a try because it’s a newly opened restaurant. Love the design of this place inside and out but the staff was not desirable. I thought the food was overly salty so I wasn’t a fan. One major issue here for me was the bartenders. We decided to sit at the bar for a few drinks but everyone was using the excuse they were cleaning the bar instead of assisting us. There was well over 4 hours before closing time. When we decided to try the beer sampler of 8 and a martini all we got was unhappy faces and we clearly overheard the bartender complaining about how they hate pouring beers for the samplers. I suggest going somewhere costumers can’t hear when complaining. I also got my food without any plates or napkins until I asked a bartender. I would understand if the bar was busy but there was over 4 bartenders for a total of less than 10 bar costumers. We’ve got checked on once for our hour and half stay. Not a fan :(

This place is… AWESOME! Every time I drove past the building, I was excited to see that a new brewpub was opening up close to my home. I finally found the time to go check it out and boy was I pleased. When you first walk in, you feel like you’re in a microbrewery, which I love. The staff is friendly and promptly sits you down wherever you like. You have three choices to choose from, the bar area, the dining area and the quiet room. We chose the dining room and were very pleased. The setting is nice, but be forewarned, it tends to be loud in there. One of the positives is that there is no smoking.(I’m not a fan of the smoke filled pubs and bars). The menu is like your traditional pub menu, burgers, pizza and seafood. We went with the pulled pork bbq flatbread and one of the burgers. Both were delicious, the sea dog pale ale bqq sauce was spectacular. We later ordered the soft pretzels and cheese dip appetizer, the soft pretzel were rather hard than soft, you could tell that it was just pulled out of the freezer. By far the best part were the draft beer. They’ve got so many different house flavors to choose from that you’ll walk out broke. Pints go for $ 4.50 and $ 3 during happy hour. But the variety is great, so they pretty much cater to every drinker. I recommend to try the sampler, 4 smaller beers for $ 5 or 8 for $ 10. — — — — - Edit 7÷15÷2013: After a few times of visiting here, we’ve noticed that service is declining. There are times where we have waited 10 – 15 minutes before the waiter or waitress would come back to refill us. Looks like the glory of this place might be dying out for me.

Went out tonight to try the new place. Arrived at 5:50 and was already a bit crowded. With new restaurants come some hiccups as the host was very confused on seating and what tables were available. Understandable though. Took about 10 minutes for someone to come to our table but the server took our drink order which we sampled a few of the beers. We both really enjoyed the the Apricot, Blueberry and Raspberry beer but I also tried a few that I didn’t care for but that is personal preference. We took advantage of happy hour and ordered the soft baked pretzels with beer cheese that we really liked. The pretzels were hot and soft and the cheese had a nice distinct tasty flavor. We also ordered the buffalo chicken dip which had nice size pieces of chicken with a buffalo cheese sauce and served with warm flatbread that was equally as good. For dinner we shared the pulled pork sandwich was really good and had a side of fries which were good also. Overall we enjoyed it and even though some problems with hosting and serving we were ok with it especially since everything else what great. Will give this another try and maybe try some of the pizzas that we some other people eating which looked amazing.
