King Buffett

Stopped in with a friend on a little get out of town excursion, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food being served here. Wasn’t expecting too much in the line of flavor when it comes to a small town Chinese buffet, but I certainly got a surprise once I started digging in.
I consider myself well versed when it comes to Chinese buffets, as I have ate at quite a few around America, but was genuinely pleased with «most» thing’s being served here. The small unassuming exterior doesn’t quite give this place justice, as the food (for the most part) was quite exceptional. I particularly enjoyed the steamed shrimp and (k)rab medley, as well as the sesame chicken and black pepper chicken. Generally I’m not a big fan of imitation crab, but they serve the «higher fare» flaky fake crab meat here (quite the oxymoron), which I typically enjoy more. The sesame chicken was light, nicely battered, and pleasingly sweet. The black pepper chicken on the contrary had a nice peppery kick, but managed not to be overly dry as it usually is at most other Chinese buffets.
The only thing that I just absolutely did not enjoy, and is generally a no-​no for Chinese buffets anyways, was the sushi. I tried one piece of shrimp sushi, which was covered up in plastic wrap. I should have known better from the get go, but decided I’d give it a shot. I instantly regretted it upon biting into the rice, that tasted of age and had an off metallic flavor.
Other than the sushi being the only thing holding this place back from earning my five star rating, I’d certainly recommend this place to an out of town traveler whom is looking for a large fulfilling meal. I plan on dropping back in to give them another try some time when I drive back through Cleburne.

Some of the worst take out I’ve ever had and I’m not picky. Bad enough for me to set up an account here and write a review. Actually couldn’t eat it and I was a couple hours past hungry. Soda tasted like chlorine from the tapwater they pumped in. Disgusting. Shame on you King Buffet.

This place is amazing I am not big on american Chinese food but this place was wonderful. If they dont have it just ask and they will make it, everyone is extremely nice and very attentive. And for $ 7.99 a person including drink you cant go wrong if you like Chinese food.
