K&W Express

The food is consistent with other K&Ws and have never had a bad meal here. The staff has always been curtious as well. My only issue is that nothing is ever available on the drive thru menu. It gets quite frustrating at times.

It’s a shame that the food at this place is so inconsistently crummy because the staff are consistently friendly and the dining area is consistently clean and cheery. Cheap prices! So what’s crummy about it? Well, the fried okra is almost always cold and greasy and sloppy. By sloppy, I mean it’s all torn up like someone had batted it around before placing it into the serving dish. Definitely old tasting too. The mashed potatoes aren’t so hot either. Sometimes they are real potatoes sometimes powdered sometimes no salt sometimes too much salt. I think the problem here is that they don’t do a big lunch business and probably hold the food over until the evening so as not to waste it. My advice is to look the food over before getting in line.
Probably won’t be back for awhile.

K & W Café in Clemmons, located on Amp Drive, just off Lewisville-​Clemmons Rd, has improved in several ways since it opened. Food is now served in real plates, and real flatware is provided instead of plastic. A good variety of entrees, vegetables, and salads are offered on the cafeteria line, and more desserts have been added recently. The only problem our family has encountered recently was a lunchtime visit when the food was not even slightly warm. We asked to speak to the manager and suggested that he check the temperature of the water in the steam table. He found that the steam table was not even turned on. He was non-​chalant and certainly not apologetic. about the oversight. that day. We were the first customers to complain about cold food aparently. I wonder how many customers ate a cold lunch and never returned.

Three stars for the over the top service. I didn’t even know this place was in town. It kinda sits off the main street behind other businesses but i was happy I found it. My family is a huge fan of K&W. Anytime we get together which isn’t often enough we meet at a cafeteria. Great food, great selection, usually fast service and great prices. Where else can you go and get anything ya want for lunch or dinner readymade? I usually go with the fried cod, mac and cheese, and mexican corn bread. Can’t seem to stray from that.
But this restaurant is different. It’s designed to be a pick up or drive thru with a small dining room. And that’s ok.
My complaint is that when I was dining there I overheard too many employees discussing their personal lives. (It was between lunch and dinner) A lot of employees walking around chatting and one girl (off duty?) in the booth in front of me discussing her sexual preferences on her cell. I didn’t mind so much but an older couple sat down beside me and Im sure they werent as tolerant.
This won’t keep me from visiting K&W in the future as I will come back to this one. Maybe mgmt. needs to have a little more control of their people. Off duty/​off premises.
