This place needs a staff overhaul and a cleaning crew. Clueless crew running this place. Plan to wait for an average meal.

Horrible service — out of everything. I mean, everything. Bathroom also didn’t have soap nor a hand dryer that worked. Slowwwwwwwww.

This is the most beautiful Mellow Mushroom that we have seen. Housed within an historic two-story southern, antebellum home, this vintage-style Mellow Mushroom is «guarded» by a Clemson tiger out front across from the veranda. Yes, a veranda, complete with ceiling fans on the porch, and orange and purple accents for Clemson fan appeal. We were in awe of this Mellow Mushroom upon driving up, and once inside our curiosity was peaked even more. The vintage home, is converted into a modern pizza eatery, with many of the home’s special features still in view, like the beautiful fireplace. To top it all off, the pizza at Mellow Mushroom cannot be beat. Hot, fresh, cooked to order, with as many pizza topping options as you can imagine. If you are in the Clemson University area I highly recommend stopping in to this MM location for lunch or dinner. Parking is available in their private lot.

Great pizza in a college town. Real laid back place. No rushing, friendly staff. It is pricier than other places, but you get your money’s worth. We got the house special. Fresh veggies, whole grain crust, herbs, applewood bacon. Really good. Plenty of seating. Inside, outside porch and a patio. That being said, there isn’t a lot of parking. It is an old house, and wasn’t meant to be a restaurant. Service was a bit slow, but it gets really busy on the weekend. Also recommend the hummus appetizer. Really fresh.

The pizza is good and our waitress was okay but it has been 45 minutes and no pizza and no apologies from the staff. I have even asked for our pizza in a box after 30 minutes and nothing but an okay. Finally got our food and still nothing about how slow it was.

Nice atmosphere and beer selection. However, service is rather slow. There are open tables so the restaurant is not packed. No excuse for the slowness.

I love the pizza at mellow, crust is whole grain and really improves the quality of the pizza. Some of my favorites are the Mighty Meaty and the Funky-Q Chicken. Pizza alone, 4.5 stars. The service here is a 2 though. Food always takes forever to come out. They have screwed up my order several times as well. Staff is made up of friendly college students, perhaps not quite cut out for food industry. I’ve given them so many chances, I wonder if anyone ever gets good service here. Just avoid the hassle and take-out.

Solid pizza, not life changing, but definitely good. The food alone is enough for 3.5−4 stars. Atmosphere is fun and they do a good job of making it feel like it isn’t a chain. Unfortunately the parking situation is so horrendous you would be lucky to ever see the inside of their restaurant. Until that changes I won’t be back.

Amazing people but the pizza can be pricey. Otherwise, the service is perfect and the food tastes good. Make sure to try the pretzel appetizers.

Only 4 stars because no WiFi connection as advertised. All employees asked me if I know how to connect then let them know. ATTENTIONOWNER, remedy this simple but necessary creature feature as you will lose customers. Don’t get the jerk chicken sandwich. This is overly spiced and dry. Get pizza! Friendly staff

After traveling across the southeast(and now in the midwest) in an effort to visit as many Mellow Mushrooms as possible, I have to say that this location was one of my favorites. Located right on Clemson’s campus, there is nothing better that sitting out on the deck with a beer, chillin out, and chatting while you wait for your amazing pizza. The décor here is young, fun: this joint would be the perfect place to sit watch a game in. A friend and I were here on a non-game day, but it proved to be laid back and a lot of fun. The service and food(of course) were great, and I would drive out of my way to stop in here again the next time I’m in the southeast. Go Tigers!

Your typical college pizza joint. The great thing about this spot is that it’s right on the edge of campus, but the downfall is it closes fairly early, even on game nights, which makes no sense. Pizza — beer = stay open late! The pizza is average, at best, but it’s a great place to watch games while you are waiting to go to any Clemson sporting event. The food won’t wow you, not in any way, but there’s usually cute college servers around, so how bad can it be?

Great pizza in S.C. The crust tastes good but it’s way too thick. Pizza shouldn’t. be 50% crust. Ingredients are fresh. Waiting time is too long. Staff is pleasant although they tend to forget a lot of things.

Tasty pizza &, friendly staff. It isn’t New York style, but it is delicious!

It’s not the best pizza in the area, but it’s second best for me. That said, they have a lot of non-pizza things that are pretty great. Wings and mushroom soup and salads. The ambiance here is really neat. They made it trippy and avante garde and still managed to keep the vibe of the frat house the building once was. Also, it’s across the street from Clemson, so if you’re a student of a teacher there I can see where this would be a go-to joint. Their beer selection isn’t as tremendous as other Mellow Mushroom locations but a discussion with a friendly staffer leads me to believe they are working on it and there are several empty taps waiting to be filled with something unique and exciting. Overall, pretty darned good.

It’s okay pizza in for not that much money. For that, it’s fine. But, the place is a little dirty and the service is pretty slow. I understand they have to take care of a lot of people, especially on game day, but there’s enough staff that it should run a little smoother.

If you have ever been to a mellow mushroom then you know what the food tastes like, they are all pretty similar in the kitchen. This one has an ambiance like no other and that is one thing I love about this chain. As you pull up, it looks as if a whole bunch of friends are having drinks and just sitting on the front porch of an old house over looking Clemson’s campus. A great place to sit if the weather cooperates. FYI: There isn’t much parking, but for some reason, I’ve never had any trouble. Ambiance: Once you walk inside you’ll know where you are. There is fungi memorabilia all over the place. Even the nooks and cranny’s are decked out. The food: A little pricey and takes a little longer because they actually hand toss the dough, but it is surely worth it. My go to dishes are the Kosmic Karma pizza and the jerk chicken sub. The Kosmic Karma, oh yeah, a red sauced pizza with mozzy, sun dried tomatoes, spinach, feta, and a nice pesto drizzle. Have never seen anyone not enjoy it. I would assume the jerk chicken«hoagie» pretty much explains itself. The beer: Whatever your heart desires. Not the most taps I’ve seen at a mellow, but plenty to choose from. I normally end up with a pitcher of sweetwater 420 in front of me at some point. The bathrooms?: Not normally something I review, but these are different. Well, the dudes bathroom is cool, I guess I’d have to sneak in to the ladies to give a full report. The guys bathroom is painted thoroughly with your favorite rock stars. Beatles, Hendrix, Marley, etc… All in all, one of my favorites, especially when I’[m meeting up with my fungi friends from the upstate mycological society, or with Tradd and Olga from mushroom mountain. Highly recommended.

Good food, pizza was good. Price was good too. They were busy so service was a bit slow; parking can be tricky but it’s well worth the wait.

This place was awesome, we all ordered different kinds of pizzas and they tasted great. The hummus wasn’t bad either! My only gripe was they give you soooo much hummus but not near enough pita bread, so they charge you for more… oh well, at least there was more than enough hummus! They do serve beer but I can’t remember if they had a full bar… I really liked this place and would definitely go back to another Mellow Mushroom if I see one when traveling.
