Devenney’s Irish Pub

Staying a few days in Orlando and wanted to catch the USA v Costa Rica match. I ordered the steak and Guinness pie and I was not disappointed! The meat was perfectly cooked and the flavor was excellent. My companion ordered the fish and chips and also had a great meal. Our server was attentive and friendly. All in all I had a great experience at this pub. I would recommend it to anyone looking for some traditional Irish/​UK cuisine.

Ww went for dinner at Devenney’s, My wife ordered fish and chips, which came on a plate with wax-​type paper underneath the food that had print on it that looked like newspaper. Very original I thought, until my wife realized halfway through the meal that the paper had disintegrated under the fish and she was eating paper with her fish! Needless to say she lost her appetite. We notified the waitress who said she had never seen that happen before and as a result gave us a discount of TWO dollars off our $ 30 bill. My wife ends up eating paper and we get $ 2 off the bill. Really…

Great food Great wait staff !! One our regular places ! The fish and chips are authentic and tasty.

This is a four star review because the food was three stars but the waitstaff were five. It was «fish n chips night» so it was packed. They only had three people serving as waitresses, hostesses, bus people and bartenders. It was crazy to watch, and admirable how quick they were! The food was very good and may have been our poor choice (burger and pot pie). The Shepards Balls were amazeballs. Rebecca was a delight despite the chaos. We will definitely be back.
Definitely avoid Friday nights. It is also karaōke night but no one but the host seems to sing. She turns the sound system waaaaay up to the point where the waitress couldn’t understand we wanted cheesecake, not the check, and that actually lost them money. Ears bleeding volume, and there are so many times you can hear a person butcher Adele songs.

Great experience, service, and food. We live nearby and happened to see this and saw delightful reviews. It’s great to have a local spot that isn’t a chain! If you are über hungry order the Shepard balls! They come out right away and are the perfect way to start a meal. I had the fish and chips and was surprised that it looked legit like a fish (which makes sense!). It was fantastic in addition to a huge portion size. We have finished our meal with the chocolate cheesecake which is so dense it goes a long way. Kudos to our two servers who worked as a team and treated us like royalty.
I repeat, great atmosphere (loved the playlist), food, and service. We’ll be back. Thanks Julie!

I’ve been looking for the perfect fish sandwich in Orlando for days and finally found it. Thanks guys.

I had fish and chips which were outstanding. My girlfriend ate chicken tenders, which were possibly the best that either of us have tasted. The service was pretty poor, but they were busy. I think the bartender may have been new, she seemed super distraught when we came in, and we saw her get visually overwhelmed a few times. Our server knew how to handle stuff and was stuck picking up the bartenders slack for the 2 hours that we were there (which was about an hour and fifteen minutes longer than we would have hoped). Our server was unapologetic about the service, but I appreciate the fact that she didn’t feel compelled to explain herself to us, seeing as she was dealing with a full restaurant of drunk people nearly single-​handedly. It’s hard to fully appreciate the bullshit servers go through unless you’ve done it yourself. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who has some time to spend on a meal, and I will definitely return next time I’m craving delicious bar food.

I dint know what to expect. We were taken there by our next door neighbor. We were introduced to the owner, a delightful young lady who served us food and libation. The place and food took us back to the UK where we spent 2 months visiting our son.
The food was genuinely delicious and so was the libation.

Had the bangers and mash and a couple drinks. Very good and a great value. Server was very nice and attentive, great on recommending that entrée.

Devenney’s does what it does well; a great little Irish pub with many traditional Irish/​English/​Scottish menu items. We tried the Scottish Eggs and the Shepherd Pie Balls for appetizers. Scotch Eggs were hard boiled eggs wrapped in sausage and lightly breaded and fried. I know, it’s hard to imagine, but try it, it’s good!
We shared a Devenney Burger and the Famous Irish Rueben. The corned beef Rueben was delicious, but only needed a little more dressing. The Devenney Burger was great and had a spicy deli-​style mustard that made it work!
In traditional Irish pub style, Guinness flowed freely with some other beer options as well. The wines were more limited, but they had the traditional «house grapes» available.
My son had the Fish & Chips, which is touted as «best in Florida»! That’s quite a boast, but we can say that it was very good. The fish pieces were large and not overly battered. The fried batter was tasty, which really makes the dish.
Overall, a great find in the neighborhood that I highly recommend.

Nice décor, it looks like a good bar for hanging out. We stopped in and I had the shepards pie, I’m not sure if it’s authentic but it was delicious.

was fantastic when first opened, but the 4 owners (yes 4) were much too difficult and the chef left and it went down hill ever since. Don’t bother

I wad so skeptical when we walked into this place. I never have been to a bar with such great food. I had the Spicy Brian which is a buffalo chicken sandwich, and my Dad and boyfriend had the fish and chips. It was all great. Definitely the best, spiciest buffalo chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. The fish and chips were also really good. Live music came in towards the end of our meal and it was actually nice. Beatles songs and other oldies really well covered buy some guy on a guitar. Not super loud, we could still talk and a few people were quietly singing along and bopping to the beat. Don’t underestimate this place!

Great burger and my husband loved his fish and chips. Seriosuly, why isn’t egg on every burger? The beer selection was more limited than I would have expected, but the service was decent. We would definitely eat here again (although it’s waaaaaay out there!)

I wonder at times how this place stays open. It’s never really busy at times and when your drive past it you don’t see anyone there like you wonder if it’s even open anymore. It might be partly due to its location and ability to get to it.
The place is a little small. Reminds you of the pubs you would find in the touristy sections of the UK. Not a bad thing at all
The food well it’s ok. Portion sizes are leaning toward the small side with mediocre flavour. That is if they have the items you want. Been a few times different days of the week and then tend to be out of this or that.
Found glass in one of our parties beer from clearly the broken glass it was poured on and served. Beer was replaced but really didn’t seem to care or warrant much of any concern. At least comp the beer that you could of injured someone with.
So the attention to that detail is lacking. Just not one of those destination locations it’s more like yeah I guess lets go here type of place.

While we were a party of 30 people and they took our reservation 2 hours before we came, the service was very slow and I don’t think they were ready for us. They also never answered my phone call again to change the reservation after I called 15 times with no answer! We were never able to get drink refills when asked so everyone from our party continued to go to the bar for drinks instead.
However, the food was fabulous but they were out of many things we requested from the menu and it took quite a while for everyone to be served.

Absolutely the worst experience I could imagine! Waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for appetizers and 2 hours until the last member of our party was served (yes, 2 hours).
The owner’s reply was «we were slammed» yet the restaurant was half empty!

Great little irish bar and eatery. The beer prices are good and the Irish food is on point. No Breakfast for you folks looking for and english breakfast but the shapers pie and bangers and mash are very well done. I’m excited about going back to try several other dishes

We came here to try something new. The atmosphere was great and authentic. We order the NY strip and build your own burger. Bothe were very very good and fresh. I ordered Scottish egg and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. But I did order a pint of harp it was a little expensive for 5.50. Overall great place and should be busier with grey food an friendly staff. We will be back.

Mark A. & I were lucky enough to find this pub on a Thursday night after one of our many Disney trips. Why lucky? Because it was trivia night! Although we came in during the 2^nd to last round and couldn’t jump in, I had fun trying to think of the answers myself. There were a couple Disney questions… right up our alley! The DJ/​Trivia Master also plays a song in between questions that may or may not be a clue. How fun! During tally time, he plays some pretty bomb music. I was having a blast singing along.
After a long day of being out in the sun, we weren’t too inclined for any alcoholic beverages, so I can’t speak for that. BUT I did order the sampler platter: potato skins, stuffed mushrooms, chicken tenders, and onion rings. Chicken tenders and onion rings are practically the same everywhere, so nothing to note there. The potato skins were great! First time I’ve seen them come with pico de gallo on top. Stuffed mushrooms, though, not my fave.
So the food is only ok, but the environment is such great fun! (At least on Thursdays, anyway.)
