Gator’s Dockside

Beer was cold but so was the wings and chili.
Usually the waitress are very nice but this time not so much. They must cook up a batch of wings then when people order they put the sauce on.

Great place to grab a drink and watch the game. Eddie made us feel welcome as we are new to the area. Great personality behind the bar and we often stopped in just to see him We found out he is no longer there and may have to find a new bar as the service is not the same

Good service. Never went dry with my sweet tea. Had the chicken wings which were really nice also had the gyro (don’t recommend) tastes like store bought. Will go back again for lunch.

I always end up sitting at the bar because the service is a lot better. The drink specials are pretty good, I don’t ever eat here but I heard the food is pretty good! 3 stars because the bar tenders are ALWAYS amazing and sweet!

Service is bad took over ½ hour to get a drink and another ½ hour to get my order in.

One would think that a restaurant decorated with giant stuffed gators and serving actual gator dishes would be more memorable, but at the end of the day, it was just an average dining experience.
The food was fine, nothing too memorable. The burgers were on par, but not unique. Of course we tried the gator tail appetizer, which I was surprised to find wasn’t that great. In fairness, it was my first time eating gator, so I have nothing to compare it to. But now I have the impression that gator meat is chewy and lacking in flavor.
The restaurant itself was sufficient, with friendly people and prompt table service. The menu selection is decent with fair prices. The environment is slightly fun I suppose, what with all the neon and gator related kitsch, but in the end the colors and patterns made me think of the early 90s… which may or may not be a good thing.
In conclusion, I wouldn’t mind eating here again, but probably wouldn’t unless prompted to do so.

This is my sixth visit in 2.5 years. The first wasn’t that great but that was long ago. The service is above average as is the food. Maybe smaller portions but how much do we really need?
Ok for kids. My 3 year old is happy just sitting at the video games in the game room.
Today at 12:30 on Sunday the place is half full and filling. That’s a good sign.
Lastly they provide a military discount. Something that Buffalo Wild Wings doesn’t. A great replacement for Bdubs Clermonts horrible service and food.

Food not impressed, not bad, but either good. The service was slow, very slow. I understand was a very busy nighy, UFC fight, but they were understaffed. There was only one bartender at the bar, and the waitress kept forgetting our drinks.

I am a regular at Gators. I have tried a number of items on the menu but I am absolutely OBSESSED with their Scooter sauce! Wings are always delish and salad is always fresh. Great service. Fun atmosphere. And very reasonably priced. They have different promotions for different nights — kids night, wing night, ladies night etc. Good spot!

Service is slow all the time. And the servers I’ve come across are not very friendly at all.

Good atmosphere but the food was horrible. With large party food was coming out all different times.

Eh it’s a gators dockside. Kinda like a lower budget Ale house with out all the atmosphere. I think this place is only capable of 4 stars. Eating gator tail. Always a treat. Happy hour is 2 41 on select draft n wells.

My husband and I walked in tonight, waited at the front for literally 10 mins with no service. The place was dead only about 5 tables, so no excuse for being busy! I would give them –5 stars if I could. Don’t go to gators dockside in clermont… so we went to Buffalo Wild Wings instead. Way better service and food!

I would love to have something positive but after so many times I was so pleased at this spot so I went with high expectations on my Bday and ordered all you can eat wings. Service was ok not great but the food was horrible the wings were dry and over cooked and I tried several times but left very dissatisfied. For this reason I am writing a new review with less stars.

We used to LOVE this place when we lived in Gainesville. This one used to be at least decent. We went for the wings. The Scooter ones — grilled and some breaded too. I tasted one and it had that funky chicken has been left out smell. Not sure what it was… I didn’t get sick but they just didn’t taste right. Oh and the fries were awful. They felt like the weird veggie fries you get that taste like styrofoam. They looked like potatoes but tasted like nothing. Hard to explain– they just were not good.

I really wanted to like this place. The name, décor — it should be a great Florida restaurant. It is not. The rating is the fact I cannot recommend this place to anyone.
It’s a noisy place with pool tables that intermingle with tables that diners are attempting to eat. We stopped at dinner time and it was not busy.
The food is just horrible. We were there for happy hour and tried couple of their specials. They were highly breaded tasteless small portions of nothingness. The wings were pricey and tasted like Banquet fried chicken dinners.
The waitress recommended nachos were perhaps the biggest disappointment. There were plenty of plain tasting chips, but it came with what tasted like a generic version of Hormels Chili out of the can, and not enough cheese to cover the top. The kicker — they served it with two small ‘to go’ envelopes of sour cream. They are too cheap to dish out a generous portion from the kitchen.
I will give the manager an atta boy for coming by to check on our table. But he needs to get in the kitchen and revamp the menu along with separating dining from entertainment areas.

I’m not sure why there are so many of these restaurants still in business in Central Florida because this place is just plain awful. My husband and I got the gator bites, fried shrimp, and chicken tenders. All of these items were covered in this hard, tasteless, 2 inch thick breading that made everything inedible. My chicken was fatty and full of chewy tendons while my husband’s shrimp was chewy and plain gross. I won’t even fill you in on the gator bites just trust me when I say that they were disgusting, despite being in a place known the world around for alligators the meat was in no way fresh. We will not be back, such a waste of money!

Came here a couple times with friends. Have yet to have a decent meal/​experience. The last time we came it was wing night. There were 3 of us at a table and we all ordered beers. 20 minutes went by and no beers. I finally got up and tracked down our waitress and 2 of the 3 beers arrived shortly after.
We ordered wings and waited another 20 minutes and no wings arrived. Also that other beer hadn’t shown up and neither had our waitress. After nearly an hour we walked up to the bar, paid for our two beers and went down the road to another chicken and beer restaurant.
Id chalk this up as a fluke bad night except the same thing literally happens to is a week earlier (except we went 1 hour with no beer or food).
Also as mentioned the bathrooms are generally dirty, the food is generally greasy, and the patrons are generally drunk and rowdy around the bar and pool table/​arcade area.

Came here last week for all you can eat wings.
They offer wings in breaded fried, unbreaded fried, and grilled varieties with about 15 different sauce options. Everything I had was delicious. They also had a good deal on pitchers of beer. Service was good and I was very satisfied.
My only issue was that even the hottest wing sauce wasn’t hot at all. I would say their hottest sauce was somewhere between a B-​dubs medium and hot.

Was just there this past Saturday and had an awesome time. Great place to watch the MMA fights as the place gets packed! For a city as «empty» as Clermont its really a good time and place to come out and meet other locals.
Mondays are all u can eat wings and they have two good quality pool tables and a good arcade for kids.
It’s a bar with bar food… what more can I say.
