Applebee’s

I eat here everything in in Cleveland TN. The service and food are above average and it’s never to loud. The bartender, Jeremy, has a great memory. He always remembers names and favorite drinks and meals of the regulars.

First I should explain, I am not a fan of chain restaurants. However there are a few on a very short list that I do enjoy, and it just so happens that Applebees is one of them. The restaurant in question isn’t a particularly rare animal in Cleveland, TN with its poor customer service and horrible management (which seems par for the course for most casual dining in town) but this day in question was the pinnacle of a long string of failures at this location. My order was simple two quesadilla burgers /​w fries, riblet platter /​w fries and coleslaw, and grilled chicken Caesar salad. So I arrive at the specified time given and park in the carside spot right at the door and wait 15 mins before anyone comes to the door, even though I had to wait I tip the young man who brings me my food and take off for home in rush hour traffic. Upon reaching home I discover that all of the fries are missing and zero cole slaw, so I call back to explain what has happened and am told «I’ll have it waiting on you» so I get back in my car to sit in rush hour traffic for some fries and cole slaw. So here I am sitting in the carside spot AGAIN and after 20mins of sitting (waiting on me huh) in my car the same guy comes out. He is very apologetic and says that the manager has given us some $ 5 off cards for our next visit. I very politely tell the food runner that he can take those cards back to his manager with a message for me. That my wallet and refrigerator can no longer bare weight of all the repeated failures of this location and he would be better served giving these cards to someone who would patronize this business in the future because I would no longer be. Those words spoken at an even tone seemed to upset the food runner and for that I am sorry, but for speaking my mind about such poor food quality and customer service I am not.
P. S. Just so you know I’m not full of hot air I am going to attach pictures of my wifes raw (Yes raw) hamburger and the Caesar salad that was dressed (for some reason) and placed with warm food to wilt.

Got car side service again. And again the sides were missing. Went back to get them and waiting 20 for someone to come out to the car and the food was cold. I got the quesadilla burger and instead of NO pink it was RAW in the middle. Pretty sure I will be sick tonight. Will never go back!!!

There food was outstanding and the atmosphere is so great but the service not that great it took our waitress about 45 min to get our change but other than that it was such a great place to eat! And I’m so going back! As soon as I can thank you Applebee’s nor this amazing time!!!

There were 6 or 8 «men» at the bar drinking and cursing loudly. «F» this and «F» that among other colorful phrases. No management in sight. Btw, this is at 4:30 on the afternoon.
Food came out, my son’s dish was stone cold. At this point we decided this visit was over. When the server finally came back, I asked for the check. She asked if something was wrong with my son’s food, he told her it was cold. Oh, I could have warmed it up…
We got the check, no apology, no manager, no offer to comp the meal, no anything.
I should have known better when the parking lot was so empty. Now I know.

I’m really surprised about the bad reviews on here. My wife and I eat here all the time and have only had an issue once and it was an honest mistake by the chef on a takeout order. If you’ve ever eaten at Applebee’s, then you know what the food is like. It’s great! Mark, the manager, is very friendly, helpful, and flexible, especially if a mistake has been made (it happens).

I know two people who used to work there, both said the food was frozen and the restaurant/​kitchen is very dirty, they also mentioned roaches… I’m never going there again.

I love to go here for lunch and get their chicken fajita roll up. I usually get fries to go with it and a coke. They also have a soup and salad combo for lunch. It’s unlimited too for $ 6.99. Their service is very fast as they seat you and someone immediately.

I come here and have a bad experience, avoid the place for a few weeks, then try again… with the same results. Food was cold, staff was MIA. I was with a group of six (family, no drinking), and we were here for almost two hours! Service was bad, food was average due to tepid temperature, and they were slow. Back to avoidance for a few months.

UPDATE 2014: This place literally sucks. Go elsewhere. Every time I go here something negative happens. Went for my bday this year and had to send my food back twice before I got something else. Didn’t even offer to comp my meal or give me a free dessert, and they knew it was my birthday. Also, if you check their health inspections they have had bugs before in the past. Save your time and go next door to O’Charleys.

My boyfriend took me a Valentine’s for dinner. It was busy but we got a booth in less than 5 minutes. Our server was overzealous but very attentive and helpful. Our food arrived quickly and our meal even came before we could finish the appetizer. The serving size was generous and it was piping hot. I always enjoy their food and it is great for the price. I am so happy we can get adequate service on such a busy day! I love how Applebee’s doesn’t change constantly like other restaurants and my favorite items are always on the menu!
Unfortunately I have to update my review after today. My boyfriend and I went in for Saturday lunch. When we went in the multiple hostess’ just stared at us. So I said Hi… and then told them we only had two. They seemed like they had no clue what was going on but we were finally seated. We browsed the menu and were ready but our waiter never came. There were two or three waiters in the area bringing drinks to people. We never even got to meet our waitress! I saw a large family come in some time after us, and after they all got their drinks I got up and went to Chili’s.
That’s ridiculous that I can get amazing service when it is packed on Valentine’s day but have to wait 10 minutes to not even get service on a normal Saturday.

The food is average if you can get any service.
