Chipotle Mexican Grill

The service is crappy wait in line 30 min while they do phone orders (that’s not right) then you ask for dressing for salad there is none made. This used to be one of the better stores in area not any more

I’ve got to give credit where it’s due — my last several experiences at the Steelyard Chipotle have been much improved.
The first few times, I’ve visited during off-​peak hours — the service was quick and friendly, and the store was clean. Big deal.
But last night we swung by Chipotle for dinner at the tail end of a serious dinner rush (right before 8pm). Line was to the door, full dining room — real tough situation for the line to handle. And you know what, they did great! The line moved smoothly, food swapped in and out seamlessly — great experience all around.
So now, I’m comfortable suggesting this location to everyone with only slight hesitation. But it does look like they’ve brought in some new people who have made a huge difference.

I love Chioptle ! I eat Chioptle at least 1 time per week. I don’t have much of a complaint for the food (except 45 minutes before closing. do not get food at this location. it is cold, and tastes horrible).
My biggest complaint for this location is the service– which leads to 35 minute waits in line. The staff is so mismanaged and for the most part does not care about their jobs. I have been in line numerous times where they had 2 people on the line and no person on the register because he or she had to sweep the floor, while the dining room is packed.
Also the attitude for most of the employees are horrible! I lived in tremont for a little over a year and traveled to other locations just to avoid their service.
The last time I talked to a manager, the manager could not communicate with me in English. I think a manager NEEDS to be able to speak fluent English in any English speaking countries.
Also, please don’t have a «no guns please» sign. It is not the proper sign to keep concealed weapons out.
Just the volume alone at the steelyard location will make it an extremely busy. There needs to be better management and hire a few employees that care just one bit about their jobs.

Needs a faster service. I understand everyone loves Chiptole but this location is always super busy. Maybe better management or even expand the food preparation line.

Need I say anything besides I LLOVE LOVE LOVE CHIPOTLE!!! So far the food at all locations has been awesome and id go for round 3 million in a heart beat. Go Chipotle!

While I’ve never been a fan of Steelyard (I lived downtown for 3.5 years and used this area for pretty much everything!), this Chipotle definitely does your burritos up right! The workers are very nice and do not cheat you at all. You’re not going to go through the line ordering a chicken burrito and then find yourself looking at them saying, umm, can at least get 4 pieces of chicken on that? Nope, you’ll get it loaded and you don’t even have to complain!
Yes, you’re going to have to wait a while due to long lines, but isn’t that expected at Chipotle anyways? I mean, it’s glorious food, have some patience people! One thing though, I would not order online from this location as it seems like they do not have a separate work station, which would then probably make your wait a bit excessive when you should be able to pick up your order when you get there at the time you selected for pick-​up!

This is my favorite Chipotle location, solely because of the food quality and portion size. They know how to cook chicken and their corn salsa isn’t frozen, unlike other nearby locations (*cough* Independence *cough*). And they really load you up with guacamole, which is especially great if you’re paying the $ 1.95 upcharge.
The only downside is their long lines at lunch, but this should be expected at noon on a weekday. Also, it appears they don’t have a dedicated work station for online orders, which is definitely a problem.

Great staff! Good attitudes! Fast and efficient. I can’t say that I’ve had any problems being served here. Of course I LOOOVE Chipotle!!! But that’s like any other normal American lol. Good spot to chill with friends, eating and enjoying each other’s company.

This location can no longer get anything right. The past FIVE times including tonight that I’ve ordered online, at least 2 or more things have been wrong with every single order. A managers apologies and the meal being comped can only go so far when even the comp isn’t properly prepared.

WORST! I waited in line for FORTY MINUTES only to have the girl tell me they are OUT of white rice since their cooker broke and that there’s no more chicken for the night because they ran out. There was no mention of any of them being out while I was in line, so I made sure not to waste anyone else’s time and let those in line know. Whoever the manager is needs to get their act together.

Glacial service. I spent 15 minutes waiting in line and by the time I reached the counter, the two women working the tortilla/​beans area turned around to talk to each other for several minutes, not even acknowledging the fact that there were at least 20 customers waiting. By the time I reached the cash register 10 minutes later, the employee taking payments could not operate the register and had to get help from two other people.
I recommend avoiding this Chipotle location at all costs unless you order online well ahead of time, or somehow enjoy subjecting yourself to Kafkaesque torture.

The food is always good. But again another failure on the pre-​order process. I placed my order 45 min early, and it still wasn’t started when I arrived at the scheduled time.

This is absolutely the worst Chipotle I’ve ever been to. Walking in I notice that tables weren’t clean and there was trash on the floor. Granted it was just at the end of the lunch hour, but when I left 25 min later, without my meal, it had only got worse.
My visit went like this:
* 5 min wait in line.
* Ordered a chicken burrito bowl, but they were out of chicken. The employee never said a word to me about it. He told the girl on the grill he needed chicken, so she proceeded to make a bowl of rice as other orders piled up. 7 min later she cut the chicken and my bowl was done. Not a word was said about my wait.
* I ordered an iced tea and paid for my order. Unfortunately, there were no lemons. I asked for some, and after a few minute search, was offered limes. It wasn’t that they didn’t have lemons, but no one (including the 5 people in back who were either on the phone or looked like they were doing nothing) wanted to cut the lemons. After an 8 min wait… I had lemons. Still, no one has said a word of apology, or even looked me in the eye.
* I’m sure you can guess what happened next. Yup, no ice. After informing the cashier, having her not acknowledge me and walk away to fight with another employee about who was getting the ice, and a 5 min wait, ice was finally brought out. Of course that was as the refund of my meal was being handed to me.
The only positive thing I can say about my visit to the poster child of what every restaurant should want to avoid being is that I got to try Penn Station Subs for the first time and they were pretty good.
There are a lot of restaurant choices in the area. Stay away from this Chipotle!!!

Best to avoid this Chipotle at all times. Not worth waiting in line for 20 – 50 minutes when you could go to Taco Bell just down the street for much faster and better service. By far the worst Chipotle to go to.

I don’t know why I continue to go here. The line is always ridiculously long, the staff is always non existent and the ones that are there are rude. I started ordering my food online and then skipping the line to pick it up. Well tonight as I made my way into Chipotle and skipped the line to go right up to the cash register, I was ignored for about 10 minutes and when they finally acknowledged me, my order wasn’t even ready yet. I had to wait another 10 minutes for my food and the girl who made it and rang me out (she is really short, wears a hat all the time and doesn’t even smile) didn’t even say thank you or anything to me. When I got home, I realized the bag was leaking because she put the bowl in sideways and there were no black beans and like 10 shreds of lettuce. This place is awful and you should avoid this Chipotle all together!

Wow this chipotle is busy!!! The food is pretty good as expected. Long line that takes a while to get through.

I love Chipotle, this is the one that got me hooked. Once upon a time they had a line to the door and were making burritos and bowls like an automated assembly line. Now that line is there because they can only checkout one person every 5 minutes. They used to give anyone who had a mix up a free burrito, now they have lost 2 online orders and their only response is «you’ll have to wait». I’m driving the extra distance to another Chipotle from now on. PS Read my 2011 review for my opinion on the FOOD of Chipotles in General.

I love chipotle, but this is easily the worst one I’ve been in by far. I’ve been there twice and won’t be going back again. Not only are they incredibly slow (waited 20 min), both of the burritos I got were about half the size of any other chipotle locations. Avoid this place.

They literally ring one person out every 5 min. The workers are so slow omg. I’ve been waiting for the past 30 min in line and I still don’t know why I’m waiting for. So many workers in the back and none on the line making food.

For some reason when I think of Chipotle, I only think of burritos. I forget they have other fresh, healthier options, but I won’t anymore.
After a tip from a colleague, I realized that in a time crunch, I could grab a quick and easy chicken salad that’s also paleo-​friendly. And although I don’t follow the paleo diet, I do like to integrate some of the meal ideas since I’m cutting down on carbs (but I refuse to give up dairy!)
Anyways, I haven’t been to a Chipotle in forever, so once I realized there was one so close to me, I decided to grab a healthy lunch. I ordered the chicken salad with fajita veggies, pico (or the chunky tomato salsa), corn salsa, hot salsa and guac to go. It was delicious, fresh and fast. The best part? I didn’t feel like garbage about what I was eating.
The staff here move quick. I came in at 2PM and there was a line. I was served and rung out within 5 minutes of being there – pretty great in my book.
Overall, for a quick and healthy (or not so healthy if you please) meal on the go, it works and it’s close to me.
