— If it’s NYE? I’m at Suite Sixx, but, any other weekend night I’m at Drop Bar. Lovely atmosphere great drinks with ACTUAL bartenders that know how to make many different kinds. They have good music, men that know how to act/dress, classy females Great place to try to meet a girl on Friday night(Not too crowded, good chance for one on one convo.), It’s a great place to go meet friends on a Saturday night, and on Sundays great day for a date. I’ve done all three. I love this place. The ONLY truly CLASSY place left on w.6th street.

Drop bar reminds me of a smaller version of some Las Vegas night clubs mainly because of the décor. I have to say, the décor is probably the best of all the dance clubs/bars in this area! I also loved the music! It was mainly top 40s. The lights on the dance floor were also really fun, especially after a few drinks: P When I came here on a Friday night at midnight though, there were only 3 people inside the bar. But the place pretty much filled up by 1am. Great music. Great drinks. Great service. Check it out!

Its a dance club… But the service is amazing, nothing like it on west 6th(you can actually get a drink!?). And the drinks are top notch. Have been going here off and on since it was the Mercury Lounge, and while décor has changed, its still the same fun but classy club.

Eh. I’ve been to Drop Bar three times — the first time, I had a blast. Loud dance music, club lighting, etc. I’m admittedly a huge EDM/club music fan, but I loved every song that came on. It wasn’t just the top 40 music, but Alesso, Afrojack, Showtek, etc. Good times! Unfortunately my friends don’t love this kind of music the way I do, so we only stayed for one drink and some dancing. The second time I went here, my roommate and I walked in and saw just a bunch of middle-aged folks and zero dancing. What? It was admittedly somewhat early in the night(10-ish maybe?) but we pretty much just walked out. The third time, my roommate and I went around 10:30 on a Friday. The place was nearly empty — she and I were the only ones on the dance floor. The DJ refused to take any of our requests, which was a little irritating. A few people trickled in, but we left around 11 to pursue more crowded dance venues(read: Barley House… yeah, I know). I’m willing to give Drop Bar more chances — perhaps the first night was a Saturday and the second two were on Fridays? The drinks are reasonably priced and I’ve never had slow service, but again, it was only somewhat crowed one of the three times I was there.

Be very careful at this place with your bartab. My acquaintance instructed the bartender to close my tab and transfer drinks to her tab. I got my card back. The bartenders screwed up and never closed my tab — in fact, they continued to charge drinks to my card, and I ended up with a $ 300 charge. This was all discovered after I disputed the charge. My credit card company can either pursue fraud charges against my acquaintance or I can get the money from my acquaintance. Neither are satisfying results given that the bartenders here screwed up by not closing my tab. Drinks were strong, which is nice.

This is a sexy ultra lounge with a euro nightclub feel. This is the perfect place to party for young professionals in their 30’s. Their not open during the week for happy hour and I don’t believe they serve food either. Great décor, if you like dance/house music you will love their DJ. Also, if you are with a group or just want to splurge, their VIP/bottle service section is second to none. This is a mixed crowd, maybe 25% of the patrons here are using their passport to get in, versus a drivers license. They make the best coconut ciroq and pineapple cocktail I can remember having, and you don’t need more than a couple to get you right. I just can’t get enough of this spot on a Saturday night, see for yourself if your into this sort of thing. This is my favorite club on W. 6th right now, ’nuff said.

There hasn’t been a time that I haven’t enjoyed myself. Good music, great service, strong drinks. Modern décor, lots of dance space. I like that the bathrooms are always clean, whether a Saturday night, or Sunday night.

I visited here on Saturday night with a large group. We pre-arranged for table service, and definitely got the VIP treatment. We had a large U-shaped booth towards the front, which was plenty of space to accomodate our group of 16. The price was great for the service we recieved. We each chipped in $ 23, and there was plenty of vodka(ketel one and absolut) for everyone to have as much as they wanted. The waitresses did a great job of cleaning up our tables, bringing out fresh glasses, ice, and mixers. They served our first few rounds of drinks, but then we were able to just help ourselves to the rest. We never had to wait long for the restrooms, which remained well-stocked and fairly clean all night, which is pretty good in my opinion. The small patio was crowded and very smokey. The dancefloor wasn’t packed, but was never totally empty either. Overall I think it was a really good choice for a group because it’s big enough for everyone to do their own thing, but small enough that it’s easy to find everyone again.

DECOR: I was very skeptical of this new spot because I did not think it was possible to improve on The Mercury Lounge(original design)… Mercury was one of the only nightclubs in town that was designed by a proper architect and interior designer, etc. but the décor is actually very well put together and the new layout(although almost exactly laid out like Mercury) is just different enough to create a whole new vibe. Two thumbs way up — gorgeous spot. SERVICE: Main bar was slow, made me curious about how functional the back bar is for the bartenders, OR they were just really slow bartenders. Mini bar near the dance floor was a better option and the bartender was a sweetheart. MUSIC/LIGHTS: Music was great, I was there on a Saturday. Best music on the street if youre into interesting stuff. Sound system was either not EQ’d properly, had limiters on it, or I dont know what. It was also a lot brighter than I like my bars, but thats just me. Those are my only complaints. I would have stayed longer if it weren’t for that… but I plan to stop back… maybe on a different day of the week. I am sure they are still ironing out some kinks. CLIENTELE: I was surprised that the Sat night clientele was just like the old Euro night clientele… not sure if its like that all the time or if it was just the night I went.
