I love this bar. It’s tucked away in a quiet area of Clark-Fulton and its one of those places where nothing changes… and that’s a good thing. Expect country on the jukebox and on stage on weekends. People of all ages feel comfortable dancing the old fashioned way. It’s very sweet to see elderly couples moving across the floor when the band plays. It’s a house band, by the way, and the drummer used to be a grandmotherly woman in seasonal puffy-painted sweatshirts. Brass tacks… it’s cash only, they have a limited selection, and make sure you bring plenty of quarters for pool or erotic photo hunt on the max touch. Actually, don’t. I don’t want you hogging my game. Sidenote: This isn’t an ironic bar, no one will appreciate you rolling in ten deep with a bunch of west 25th bros looking to slum it for a night.

Tina’s Nite Club and Corky’s are synonymous with Karaōke in Cleveland. Dunlaps is a true country bar that is more geared towards heartbreak and sad song singing. My heart has been roughed up and I am glad that Dunlaps exists for times like this. I am a man of conviction. I sang Frank Sinatra’s My Way last night as an anthem of self. A few songs later I sang Tuesday’s Gone by Lynard Skynard to symbolize loss. Before I left, I sang Funky Town by Lipps Inc in my best falsetto. I may get knocked down but I get back up and maintain. Thank you for the catharsis Dunlaps. I needed that last night.
