Great selection. Bring the cheese because you’re going to find a bunch of stuff that you want. Vinyl only. Always playing good tunes. Smallish spot, so it’s not overwhelming and easy to flip through. For travelers who like to hit up local record shops in different cities, this would be a must-​stop in Cleveland.

A «boutique» record shop = everything in the store is worth owning. No filler, No garbage. Expect to spend no more than 1 – 1.5 hours here. New and Used LPs and 45s. Imports and strange pressings. Fair pricing. Great place to find the unusual sounds.
Steve, the shop owner, is good for recommendations and has never steered me wrong.

Store advertizes as being open until 8pm. Drove all the way there to shop, arrived at 7:45, and the store was dark and closed despite the sign on the door indicating they are open until 8pm. Evidently they just close whenever they feel like it without any consideration for customers who follow their posted hours. A terrible business practice. Guess they aren’t interested in making sales.

Hausfrau is the kind of place that makes it easy to buy records. The shop has an awesome selection! The prices are good. The place is a really cool size with great LP racks that are very easy to look through and see virtually all the albums. Best of all the owner knows his music and he can always record an artist or album that I am completely unfamiliar with and i know that I can take it home w/​o any hesitation and it is always solid. The Dub selection is really strong and World Music is unique and different.
Saturday, I picked up two great LP’s both were recommended by the owner and I was very pleased. Fred Locks’s Black Star Liner-​dub and Mdou Moctar’s Afelan! They have adhered to my turntable.

The only thing about this place that isn’t absolutely amazing is that it’s a bit pricey. Not necessarily unfairly, but pricey nonetheless.
That’s the bad, and with that out of the way, I can say, this is a great place. It’s the microbrewery of record shops. It doesn’t have a massive selection, but the selection is not only better, but almost handcrafted. I can’t be certain, but it’s the kind of place that feels as if the owner has listened to every album in the shop and has selected it to be there on some sort of merit. In that, it feels less of a record shop and more of a personal record collection that happens to be for sale.
I live out of state and only found out about this place right before I moved, so I’ve only been able to go to the shop twice. Each time, I walked out happy. The first with a count basie album labeled «great shit» on a sticker, and the second time, with a Kraftwerk album. The Kraftwerk album was in a little bit of bad shape and the guy behind the counter worked with me a bit on price which was awesome.
Unlike the travesty that is record revolution in Coventry, this isn’t a bullshit shop that’s trying to sell the image of nostalgia through records, but rather it’s a place that wants to sell you the record you want. And to top it all off, they have a listening station so you can try out your selection before you leave the store.

He pretty much only has good stuff so, you don’t have to weed through a bunch of crap Emerson Lake & Palmer and their ilk. This is the best place to find a record that you have never heard of, but then come to find out you can’t live without. The owner will let you listen to most things before you buy them and is great at making suggestions. He also seems to get his hands on copies of reasonably priced, sometimes somewhat more standard albums, that you have been avoiding buying online/​not finding in real life, for years. That might be a confusing sentence.

This place is TINY. But believe it or else, I have been in smaller ones. Very nice selection, not too many commons. Cool clerk, cool location. Low low prices. They give out Facebook updates of stuff they get in from time to time which is what prompted me to go in the first place. If I was just starting out in this hobby, this would be a goldmine. I, having been collecting some 20 years now, am really hard to impress or surprise. But a young cat could make this a good starting point much like I did with Platterpuss back in the 90’s. It has that feel to it.

Check out Todd, the cat… Todd is an awesome watch-​cat? Yes, he is the best watch-​cat in the neighborhood. Probably the only, therefore, either way he’s the best.
Cool local record shop, great selection of Dub, Reggae. Only records here, no CDs, cassette tapes, 8tracks, MP3 downloads. None of that shit, Vinyl ONLY!!! It’s very important we keep record shops open, it’s to date the crispest clearest music you can listen to. Can’t beat old, original shit man, just can’t do it.
So, if you’re into Reggae and have a record player, you have to come here. Unless you don’t like good music, then in that case you shouldn’t have a record player and should not waste anyone’s time on the commute.

Hausfrau Records stocks new/​used punk (and its various offshoots), minimal wave, reggae/​dub, lounge muzak, experimental stuff, & some rock/​soul/​jazz. Vinyl only (w/​the occasional cassette tape thrown in the mix). A listening station is available for your sampling pleasure. Cool selection! Cool cat!

If you listen to vinyl, this is the place to go find some great records. There is a listening station where you can check out your selections. They only carry records here. Don’t come here looking for bootleg CD’s of DJ Evil Dee XXL mixtape from 1998. The Reggae/​Dub record selection is awesome.
