We had a really excellent experience working with Eugene to find the perfect vintage stove for our recently remodeled kitchen. He was extremely helpful in taking the time to look at stoves we had found on Craigslist to find something that could be restored the way we wanted. We ended up purchasing a stove from the store that Eugene had already restored himself. He even made a few house calls to make sure everything was in perfect working order. We really love the stove and would absolutely recommend this shop.

A great place to find a decent used washer and you might stumble along a 50’s antique stove while you’re at it. Lots of stuff to look through, the owner is a fair guy that will make you a deal on the spot. Definitely worth stopping in.

This is an interesting place. Cara is dead on when she said that this place is «literally a hodge-podge of cool stuff piled on top of each other into a maze that’s almost impossible to get through.» It’s one part used appliance store, one part cheap furniture/mattress store, and one part antique store. I ended up here because I needed an old insert for a non-functioning fireplace – something to make it look cool in its non-functioning life. After calling around, this place actually had what I needed. I was actually surprised since my house is one of the older Ohio City homes and finding anything original for this place is a huge hassle. When I arrived, they had the piece pulled for me and ready to roll. They let me inspect the item measure it, and what have you. I’m glad becuase I doubt I would have found it in the maze of stuff. That place is packed. But, if you know what you need, they know where to find it! If you don’t know what you need, it’s still not a bad place to peruse since you never know what you’re going to find. They also had a wide selection of used appliances and such. Most of it were cheap units that I might not trust. I’ll probably just stick to this place as a spot to buy old-home items. But who knows – if my washer or dryer ever breaks and I need something quick, I know they have options.

Melikey antique furniture stores without hefty, inflated antique store price tags – and this store is just that. Sure, there were a few items that were a little pricey(like these corner book shelves that were $ 350/ea.), but really everything else was pretty negotiable and, well, cheap! They even had a porch swing that I’m still considering coming back for and it’s only $ 40! Umm, lay off it – it’s mine. They also have lots of appliances, antique and new, as well as new mattresses for a pretty teeny price. I’m tempted to also go back for their bed frames, since mine is on it’s way out. And for only $ 20 – 25, you really can’t beat that. I’m excited to come back when they get some new antiques in, but for the time being this place is packed with interesting things. I say packed because it’s literally a hodge-podge of cool stuff piled on top of each other into a maze that’s almost impossible to get through. That’s how you know it’s going to be good. Like I mentioned before, the gents there seemed relatively open to negotiation on some of the antique furniture pieces, so don’t be too shy to ask. If you can get past the pure terror of hanging out in the neighborhood, you’ll definitely be rewarded with treasures for cheap.
