Many of you may not know this but Prince wrote many of his songs in regards to Mr. Hero. «I Wanna Be Your Lover» being the first hit dedicated to the Romanburger®. Mr. Hero has come along way since I started eating it as a kid growing up in Lakewood, back in the day. It was more or less a hangover food back then, now it is way less greasy, almost like they have your health in mind. Much is unchanged except stepping up the quality of the ingredient’s. They still use Orlando Bakery and I just recently found out they get their spice’s from Chef Cube. With an aggressive marketing campaign of Dante, the new Chef Spokesperson and countless athlete’s and a redesigned but mostly O.G. menu this local chain is poised for greatness once again! I’ve tried many location throughout my time and I have to say this one takes the cake right now. Friendly staff, quick and the food is always perfect. They are always pretty busy when I go there, and that’s at least once a week.

Today I tried Mr. Hero for the first time ever! I did not know what to expect but I do know it’s a chain around town, and I don’t hold chains up to too much. I called ahead and ordered the Buttered Philly Cheesesteak, I got there 5 minutes later and it was ready. The gentleman who owns this store was there and he is SO kind and welcoming. It’s as if you’ve been coming there forever. The store itself is small and there are no tables/chairs for you to sit. You will be taking it to go but who cares. The sub: absolutely delicious, cheesy, gooey, ooooeyyy goodness in every bite. The meat was thinly sliced to perfection. I ordered the regular size which is fairly small for most but just right for my level of hunger. It was about $ 7 for the sub and a drink together. I’d come back again.
