I feel compelled to write a review about this tiny card shop in the back of the Fifth Third Bank building, because it seems like I spend more time in here than any other store. It is a typical little convenience store with convenience items at convenience prices, meaning: they sell stuff that you need last minute, and you are paying for the convenience. Among those items: greeting cards(GREAT for the times I’ve forgotten to pick up a card and I’m on my way to a birthday lunch or something), drinks(who doesn’t love those giant cans of Arizona Arnold Palmers for a buck?), a limited selection of pantyhose(for the days you get a runner before your day has even started), and of course, lottery tickets. They keep«dream books» behind the lottery machine, so if are into that kind of thing, you can peruse them to look up key items from your dreams(in my case: cats, rats, twins and darts) for their numerical representation and then play them in the Ohio Pick 3. While I am a pretty pragmatic, non-superstitious person, I did do this yesterday and while I didn’t win anything, I did enjoy chatting, as always, with the very sweet Nielsens clerk. Overall, a great place to stop if you’re in the Gateway District and need a last minute item.
