Updating the review: I’ve been back twice since my initial review, and both times, the dryers overcharged me. I loaded money onto the laundry card and knowing it had happened before, I checked the card after putting it into the dryer slot for minutes. You have to take it out and put it back in for each 7-minute spin — the dryer was supposed to give me 5 free dries(35 mins) and both of these last times, it charged me $ 1.00 for the 5th dry. Okay so «it’s only a dollar» but like the late Donna Summer, I work hard for the money, so each dollar is important. From now on, I’m going to go elsewhere where I can get truly«free» drying of my laundry.

I have been going to this location for about two months now, and love it! Service is great, the store is clean, and the machines are always up and running.

Spins is a solid laundromat. Always clean and well maintained by the staff with an assortment of various load size washing machines. They also accept credit cards, which saves on the hassle of having to save up quarters.

I cannot yet afford to purchase a washer and dryer for my home, so I’ve been on the prowl for a decent laundromat. After a month-and-a-half of bad experiences, I have finally found a place I enjoy(relatively speaking) doing my laundry. Spins Quick-n-Fresh is a new(about 1 year old) facility on Lorain, just down the block from several antique stores and Nunzio’s Pizzeria. My experiences in other West Side laundromats have been a bit depressing… with a 1:1 broken-to-working machine ratio being the norm, and housekeeping generally a bit on the questionable side. Spins is spotlessly clean and the machines are in terrific(read: working) condition. The attendant on duty was continuously sweeping and cleaning the floor, and even asked me if I felt like it was too warm inside. I was shocked. A huge plus for this place is that you can leave your sack full of quarters at home. The washers and dryers at Spins operate with a free and rechargeable laundry card, available for purchase inside the building. The machines that dispense the cards even accept credit/debit cards, so if your wallet looks like George Costanza’s(or mine) – chock full of receipts and no cash – you can still do your laundry without running to the bank. The only drawback is that the vending machines that sell detergent and sodas do not accept cash either, and one must use his laundry card to buy such sundries. Spins claims to have FREE dryers. One still has to use the laundry card to activate the dryers, though Apparently, the card knows if you’ve paid for a washer, and thus qualify for free drying. This was difficult to verify with use of the card, however. I’ll have to check my balance the next time I return. All-in-all, a pleasant find.
