Titans Gym

I couldn’t agree more with Marc B. This place is awful. I was in town for work and saw that this gym was offering fitness classes for $ 5. I should’ve know in being the only person in the gym. I signed up for Zumba class and it was clear that I was the only student. I though oh well. then comes 12 when the class should start and the instructor doesn’t show up!!! I was extremely disappointed and wondering how they even operate. Lots of tanning lotions and promos going on with cheap posters of jersey shore woman. Gonna give it one more chance and see how it goes.

Great 24 hour gym! The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Other than the fact that I hate the Smart Line of machines that they have, I think the equipment is adequate for weightlifters of any level.

If you consider yourself the next Snooki or Situation and want to get yourself ready for your Jersey Shore audition, this is the place for you. Seriously, they even have a massive JWoww poster in the front. In-​gym tanning, tons of weights, and a jacked up clientele.
Unfortunately for non-​GTL population, this gym is sorely lacking in most other aspects. The weight room is clearly the focus here and it shows, the rest of the gym is falling apart and the class equipment and cardio machines are in rough shape (some of the bikes have been missing parts for years). In addition, the gym has a funky smell, the staff is pretty incompetent and unfriendly, and the website class schedule is frequently outdated. Save your money, save your time, go elsewhere.

This gym has plenty of equipment for weight-​lifting but it feels like everything is in need of serious cleaning. The equipment feels like it has a film over it from months of simply being wiped off by gym members.
The staff is incompetent at best (do not go to them with a question).
The music in the weight room downstairs is way too loud. I should not HAVE to listen to my iPod to block out the degrading rap music that is usually playing.
The cardio equipment is excellent as long as you know which ones to use, and you only want to use a treadmill. All of the cycling equipment needs to be worked on except for maybe one piece. About 50% of the ellipticals are functional.
It seems that lack of management has really ruined this place. Equipment and areas need to be cleaned and maintained on a regular basis.

I’ve been coming to Titan’s for a little over a year now. I live in 668, so my first year was free, which was SUPER nice (the community fitness center was a full size gym an elevator ride away? yes please!). When it came time for me to start paying, I went down to ask about pricing and the girl said it would be ~32 dollars per month… convenient AND affordable! Works for me. For this price, you get 24 hour access to all of the cardio and strength machines and a calendar full of free classes (I have noticed the amount of classes per week has decreased over the past year which kind of sucks). I know a few people who used the Tanning services — this service is extra money.
Like a review below me said, they charge a fee for upgrade, and I agree with the reviewer, it doesn’t seem like the money is being used for upgrades, but all I really need is a working treadmill, bike, or elliptical so I’m satisfied (although if EVERY member is paying 25 extra dollars per year, I hope it’s actually being used appropriately!!)
One of the things I do not like is the air quality /​ventilation in the gym sometimes (often summer months and busy days, which is understandable, but preventable). There have been many times I’ve walked in and walked out because the gym is so stuffy and hot. My workout will make me like that anyways– I’d rather not start out that way.
Overall, I am a happy gym go-​er :)

Updating this review to 4 stars because I feel that the quality has been slipping lately. Members are charged an annual $ 25 «machine upgrade» fee that has obviously not been used appropriately. A lot of the cardio machines are in disrepair — bike pedals not in sync, heart rate monitors not functioning, etc. Also, the smell in the downstairs weight room hits you in the face like you stuck your head in an old man’s sweaty gym bag. Plus, all of the free-​standing fans have all disappeared! Couple that with the A/​C never being the right temperature, and you’re left with a sweaty, smelly, hot gym.
Overall, this is still a convenient gym with friendly staff, but I wish management would start cleaning up and maintaining the machines properly. With how crowded the gym has become during certain time slots, you’d think they’d do something…

I have gone mostly for tanning. A little pricey but the one thing I don’t understand is their inability to properly clean the beds. There were a few times where it was greasy… Not cool. Needless to say I carry my own wipes to sanitize before I get in. Sadly, it’s the closest tanning spot to my job and I won’t go once I leave work… sigh

On a recent visit to Titans, I saw: 1) sub/​sandwich wrappers in the toilet stall; 2) empty pre-​workout drinks littering the gym floor; 3) snot on the urinal; 4) protein powder all over a locker bench; and 5) a trainer using 2 benches and 3 sets of barbells to train a client. Have to be honest — Titans deserves some credit for somehow being able to remain open.

I think Titans stays open 24hrs to make up for the fact that most days, you can’t get your parking validated because of events at the Q. Thinking of going to work out in the evenings during basketball season? Think again! And what’s the deal with the stench in the men’s locker room?
I would not recommend this gym. The CSU gym is a MUCH better deal

Honestly, it surprises me how few people are in the gym in the morning. For a state of the art, clean, friendly gym, it’s a steal! Plus, the instructors are fantastic.

We Went to Titans and took the boot camp class with Steve Armstrong. BEST class I have ever been to!!! Amazing juice bar w healthy food options. Strawberry shake is awesome. Steve, thanks for showing the broadway cast of HAIR an amazing time. Do not miss out on joining this gym!!!

Very pleased that downtown has a 24 hour gym! I don’t know when the motivation to actually work out is going to hit — so the fact that I can address that urge anytime of the day — is wonderful!
I’ve started rockin’ the morning workouts — and I must say, I’m a tad bit upset with the front desk. They’ve started making you check out towels, and the ladies on the morning shift tend to look — upset — when you ask them for one. I get it, it’s 6am, but … I need all the motivation I can get! Can you crack a little smile for me? Pretty please?
Aside from that, the rest of the clientele working out are very friendly and courteous. There are plenty of machines, and it’s very clean! Great convenient location for all the residents of the East 4^th Neighborhood.

So I got this handy dandy little flier in the mail and after some googling, it seemed like a great deal. I come to find out that the flier left out some kind of important information (like it was only for M/​W/​F), but the weekly 24 hr deal seemed pretty good too so here we go!
Notice how I’m writing this just after the new year? Well, I signed up after Thanksgiving and have been several times now… so no judging! Each time I go there, there are plenty of treadmills open, lots of towels and plenty of TV’s to entertain little old me while I try to get back into 5K shape.
The bathrooms are clean, the management has been fine, the equipment is new, and overall I’m happy with my semi-​flier deal!

Visiting for the week and wish I can take this gym back to California. The equipment is new, there is plenty of space and the staff is very friendly. Definitely worth the expense and time for my business trip. Thanks Steve for your hospitality.

Great gym. Spacious. Plenty of weights/​machines/​etc. Never encountered a time when I couldnt use the weights/​machine I wanted. Great staff.
Café is just as good. Great place for healthy foods/​snacks/​shakes.
All in all, I’m very impressed. I came to Titans a few months ago from Fitworks.

Great gym with awesome classes. It definitely helps with good instructors, good music, I would recommend this gym for anyone! Especially the spinning and bootcamp classes.
