This is my second time eating here and I love it. The Cuban sandwich was great on my first trip last year and I had the pork plate today. Oh my, I could eat it everyday! First time trying the Yuca and it was great too! Looking forward to my next years annual fishing trip here!

Authentic Cuban food! Awesome Cuban sandwiches for a steal of a price! Husband and I stopped for lunch on our way to the keys, it was busy even at 3 in the afternoon. Service was quick and we were able to stuff ourselves and get back on the road for under $ 15.

We found this place 10+ yes ago while traveling down hwy 27 on our trips to The Keys. We stop no matter what meal time it is. If you are in a hurry call ahead to order Cuban sandwiches. The pork special is the best I have found outside my kitchen :). Ask for a café con leche… for the road. Defiantly worth the stop.

This place was horrible! All the tables were dirty, it took a long time to be waited on and even longer to be served. My food order was completely wrong and my fathers order came cold. Never going back.

Wish I could have tried the food after reading the reviews but After walking in and being totally ignored for 15 minutes and watching an employee spend the entire time on the phone while another one looked like they were doing all the work decided it may be a long time before we saw any food. Maybe will try again if we don’t see many cars in the lot.

Very good, fresh food with nice portions. The service wasnt great but the 2 poor waitresses were overwhelmed at lunch peak. I had the lechon and it was as good as any in Miami. I recommemd.

This is a very unassuming place, but it surpassed all my expectations. We were in town for business and stopped in on a recommendation. Everthing we ordered was excellent and fresh. The cubanos, rice beans, plantains, steaks, and chicken were fantastic we all shared bits of everything. Service was friendly and quick. Prices can’t be beat, it was very cheap. Just be advised that you can’t leave a tip on a credit card so bring a little cash.

Awesome grilled Cuban sandwich and the BEST Cuban coffee con leche. We also had the pulled pork dinner and the ½ chicken dinner. Both meals come with beans and rice, yummy plantains, and Cuban toast. All was delicious! Fed 6 of us for $ 20, the meals feed more than 2 people each! They don’t seem to have much patience for English speaking customers and it’s a true hole in the wall, but you go for the food not atmosphere.

Driving home from Clewiston tonight after having dinner at this place. I ate there years ago on a previous visit and was really glad they are still in business and they are still just as good if not better than I remember. I ordered the pork with rice beans bread salad and plantains and my SO ordered the Cuban with fries …2 beers and empanada appetizer. We shared everything as it is so difficult to choose as it is all so tasty… plus 2 café con leche to go… less than $ 20.
I love this place. It is the real deal!
Great food great service. We will be back!

What a disappointment. Service was slow & place was noisy. Ordered a steak sandwich but was served the Cuban sandwich special which just turned out to be a ham & Swiss sandwich on a toasted bun, certainly nothing special. Ordered French fries also but they were out. What more can I say.

The food at Café Tropical is excellent! I had the ropa vieja, and it had such wonderful flavor. I highly recommend it. But don’t go for the ambiance. Just great food!

This is a true neighborhood restaurant. Excellent Cuban food prepared family style in an enviroment that everyone knows each other and if you are a tourist dont worry, they treat you like one of their own.

I can’t visit Clewiston without making a trip to Café Tropical! Their food is reasonably priced and delicious. The Cuban sandwiches are yummy and authentic. The fries are mediocre, so I usually skip those.
Definitely worth the stop. You won’t regret it!
