When you’re the only convenience store within miles, you can pretty much get away with charging whatever you want. Such is the case at the six pack shack. While spending a weekend in a nearby cabin with friends we quickly discovered that our beer supply would not last us the duration of the trip(rookie mistake). We gathered money from everyone with a quick Unilocal search discovered this place(literally the only place in town). When we first went in, we noticed a small room in the back full of 6 packs and cases. The selection was decent with your typical bud heavy, bud light, and a collection of smaller craft brews. We weren’t picky this trip, but there was a broader selection than I would have expected Now back to the pricing. It’s a few dollars over what you’d expect to pay, and with little to no local options we had to just bite the bullet on that(for example a 12 pack of landshark was $ 22(which is probably half that in a wal-mart). Due to PA law, if you’re going to buy multiple cases they have to ring up each on separately — bring cash as I can imagine this process would be brutal with a card(which they do accept). They are also a pizza parlor, but to be honest it didn’t look very appealing. I didn’t try it so I won’t comment further on that, but I’m sure it’s edible. All in all this place would have received a higher rating if their prices were more fair, they were absolutely cashing in on the fact that options are non existent

Pizza is solid, but a tad bit pricey. They clearly can afford to price gouge you because the city folk, who come to Elk to ski and spend summer weekends up here, will overpay. Decent selection of beer. Service is mostly good, but every once in a while you’ll deal with the owner who is miserable. Their stock has fallen with me over time.

The pizza was good, the prices were fair, and the service was stellar. We traded life stories with the owner as we watched him make our pizzas. Only wish they delivered.

Walked in to a guy who could hardly lift his head, nevermind be of any assistance. Only game in town I’m guessing but lots of old outdated beer(it does expire) and inflated prices. I walked out.
