I tried. I really, really tried. This is a cozy coffee shop — a great place for a lazy afternoon. Unfortunately, unless you have an entire afternoon and you don’t mind rude service, I cannot recommend it. I have been there twice. The first time, we had 45 minutes for breakfast before an appointment. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches and after 20 minutes, still had not received them. We asked the counter person and he said that they were really understaffed and our order would be ready soon. After another 10 minutes, we asked if the sandwiches could be packaged to go and got a very rude acknowledgment. More time and the sandwiches finally came out — no apology, no smile — just a rude glare. Okay… so they were short staffed but this is an independent coffee shop and I wanted to give them another chance. I stopped in today at 1:30 and asked if it would be a long wait for a wrap to go. I was assured it would not be. Again, the waiting. Then I was told they did not have the turkey needed for the wrap. I okayed a substitution. At one point I reminded the guy behind the counter that it was to go. Total wait time — 18 minutes and out comes the wrap on a plate. When I told the girl(same rude girl from my first visit) that it was to go, I got the same glare. When I objected to her«look» rather than apologizing for her atitude or the wait, she just defended herself. The food is fresh and good but the experience is rotten. :-(

Seemed like they had a good crew for a time, but on last few visits not up the standard I expect. A latte should be more than milky coffee.

Best cappuccinos! And so many other super creative and tasty coffee drinks, hot and cold. Nice selection of cookies, muffins, and healthy food. Really enjoy treating myself and family to coffees and snacks here. Hope to come here sometime when they have live music.

Great local café — good food, good drinks, and great atmosphere. It is one of the few coffee shops in the area but easily the best. It’s a better spot for conversation and more intimate and welcoming than Starbucks or Panera. They also occasionally have live music or open mic nights– which are always a great time and well worth going! That’s a big part of what sets this place apart.

Cute place. Went there in the evening, it wasn’t busy so the service was very prompt. I just ordered a simple latte. I appreciated the real cups and saucers for dine-in customers. The latte was ok. Nothing amazing or terrible. It did take a moment to come out, but I was sitting close to the counter and could hear it actively being made right after I ordered it.(Possibly some people are used to sbux or dd style instant service) Didn’t try any of their food but I overhead some other guests eating salads and talking about how much they were enjoying it. Other reviewers mentioned tables being jammed in– which I agree with. If you are trying to get to a table in the middle or along the wall it can be a small act of navigation even when the café isn’t busy. Overall, if you are in the area and in-need it’s not a bad place to stop by.

Sadly, I’ve stopped coming here for coffee. I used to only stop in for coffee and dessert so i haven’t tried their lunches(sandwiches, wraps, etc…). It doesn’t seem possible to get a hot chocolate… tried multiple times but it’s always well less than hot. This seems impossible when you have the equipment to make hot, steaming milk. Coffee sits in thermoses so it’s also not always hot. Service is pokey for basic drinks. Did anyone mention the rickety chairs? Not very friendly people… they could use some training from the Starbucks employee training manual… don’t make your customers feel like they’re interrupting your day. I assume the owner/manager is very hands off. Oh well. There are plenty of places to grab a java… but I hate to see StarBucks just beat out the mom and pop coffee joints. How to improve things: Make your drinks HOT! Service with a smile(basic 101 customer service). Check the freshness of your pastries. Speed it up(the place was nearly empty and it took long just for coffee and hot chocolate… AGAIN). Get organized(food prep, specialty drinks, cup of joe… who does what?). Starbucks is fast, consistent and fresh. You can be that too. Motivate your employees to treat customers like long lost friends. You’ll get amazing results.

Awesome breakfast spot. The breakfast sandwiches were great!(southwest wrap and breakfast panini) the portions were big for the price. The coffee is delicious! The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great– cozy, old fashioned look to it, they were playing 1920s music, and it’s a great spot eat with someone, to lounge, or go yourself with your laptop and whatnot. New favorite spot.

I really wish this place was better than my experiences have suggested. The place is charming, and though the seating is congested by the maximum number of tables and chairs they could possibly squeeze in to the space, there are some very comfortable choices. If I were reviewing just the food and not considering the pleasant atmosphere I’d be offering only one star. The coffee is pretty ordinary and way overpriced. I have yet to order either a regular or decaf coffee that arrives hot. These coffees come out of thermoses behind the counter. The consistently taste old and flavorless to me. If they took this seriously wouldn’t they find a less picnicy way of treating their beverages? The espresso has an overly sweet roast, for my palette, though at least it is made fresh with every order. The menu is your standard variety of sandwiches and salads. Breakfast ends promptly at 11, so don’t be fooled that they list two breakfast sandwiches on the lunch menu. Thinking that meant they were available after 11, the woman at the counter made it clear to me I was not following the rules. I have yet to see the employees offer any help or even appreciation to the clientele. And the process of having your order shouted out when it’s ready, seems like a pedantic choice that doesn’t really honor the charm of the place. But I guess you can’t really put lipstick on a pig. I’m sure they’ll defend this as a ‘casual place’ which keeps them from investing in either the patrons or the food. This is really too bad, because the location and the décor could make this place far more successful if some thought went into the rest of the operation.

My go-to for catching up with friends. Great place to linger over coffee or tea. Service can occasionally get a little slow but it’s always friendly and helpful. The menu has a great selection of premium loose leaf teas and fun blended combos. Great atmosphere, great tea, and it’s always great to support a local business! Take Mocha Lisa’s over Starbucks any day.

I work right around the corner and come here often for tea and coffee. The rooibos chai is my favorite and it’s a really nice place to come and relax with a pot of tea. I unfortunately I would not recommend ordering any food if you have any type of schedule to keep. The food is good, I like the turkey and cheddar panini, but a very simple sandwich comes with a wait time of at least 20 minutes, today I was waiting for a sandwich for half an hour. That’s unacceptable. The staff was polite enough but clearly was in no rush to fill any orders. This is a consistent problem here. Give yourself plenty, PLENTY of time if you do decide to order.

The coffee is good and it has a warm, cozy atmosphere, however this is never my primary choice for fresh roasted coffee. Every time I have been here I have waited about 10+ minutes for my beverage. I understand I am not the only customer and it isn’t starbucks, but this keeps it from being somewhere I will ever just stop in on my way somewhere and grab a coffee.

My wife and I Stopped by for lunch this afternoon after not having been here in some months. We ordered our coffee drinks and our lunch to stay. After sitting and waiting for almost 40 mins for two sandwiches(as patrons that were in line behind us got their lunch orders, one by one) we finally decided to go elsewhere. As a former manager of a successful coffee shop there is absolutely no excuse for this with the staff they had at hand. Safe to say we won’t be coming back.

Love their drinks. They make the best cappuccino. I am a frequent flyer here and it’s true they do not have fast food service, but that’s because they care about the quality. It’s a very welcoming and comfortable place. Their paninis are great if you’re hungry! Worth the occasional wait.

I’ve now had the opportunity to frequent Mocha Lisa’s, as my partner works nearby and often drops me off here to get work done while she is working. I used to go to either Panera or Starbucks for this, and I have to say that I am delighted that I no longer have to go to those cookie-cutter chain coffee shops to have a place to settle for a bit with wi-fi access. A few of the things that other reviewers have pointed out about Mocha Lisa’s are accurate I think. The service is not super fast. You can almost always expect to wait — even for a simple drink order. But that is because they actually CARE about making your drink and take their time to pay attention to your order and fulfill it carefully. As for the service being unfriendly!!! I have never had that experience. In fact the young man who took my order today was as super enthusiastic about the espresso order before me as he was about my tea order. He knew a lot about the products. The prices are a bit on the high side for food that isn’t quite worth it, but is always solidly decent. Certainly their baked goods beat the plastic food that fills the cases at Panera or Starbucks. Their selection of drinks is amazing. I want to keep coming back here just to try new things. The atmosphere is pretty standard for any eatery/coffee shop. Nothing super sweet or quaint or funky, but comfortable enough to get some work done. I wouldn’t necessarily say Mocha Lisa’s is a coffee shop worth going out of your way for, but in this area full of office buildings and shops, it is definitely the best option for both caffeine and decent eats.

I went a few times last month, to give them a fair shot. I found the service incredibly slow, and incredibly unfriendly. Not so much as a smile from the people you pay, or the person who makes your drink. I don’t understand the allure of this place. It seems like it’s popular with stay-at-home moms, and retired people.

Great service and atmosphere! A little on the pricey side though! Coffee is good and about as good as the chain coffee shops. However, I prefer to support local owners and get coffee from mocha lisas. Mocha Lisa Latte is my favorite.

As a local, this is definitely one of the popular spots to have meetings. My biggest complaints are the refills of coffee charge, not even a slight discount, and their sandwiches. With all the options, you only can have a sandwich with ciabatta bread. Why on earth would I choose to go here when I can have better coffee at Starbucks and a multitude of bread options for a sandwich at Panera’s? Not a bad place, but I definitely don’t go out of my way to go there.

Big star for the super patient girl working the counter — I brought my non-hipster coffee shop going aunts and mom. She explained everything and was super sweet. Tables and chairs were cool and comfy. My aunt and I got chai lattes, they were ok, not very«spicy.» My mom and other aunt got pumpkin coffees, which were supposed to be unsweetened, but was oddly sweet. Oh well, we all drank them and were refreshed! BUT…there is nothing I hate more than a DARK coffee shop/restaurant. We all crowded around one side of the table because the only light from the door was blinding! Not to mention when we walked outside… blind. Not cool, man.
