Mr. Cupcakes

I’ve been going to this location for a few years and have only had a few times that the cupcakes were dry. The bigger issue is that they crumble apart so easily, you need a fork. I’m not sure why that is.
If you like french toast, they have a really good french toast cupcake with a thinner and lighter icing. I’m just not crazy about the other flavors. For me, this place or maybe the one cupcake I like, is better than other cupcake stores like House of Cupcakes. Mr. Cupcake has better prices too!
Sometimes they have groupons or living social deals but I have not seen any in awhile. I will be back for more.

Agree with the other reviewers that this place has gone downhill. Got 4 cupcakes today and they all tasted like day old dry cupcakes.
The made to order cupcakes are still decent but the stuff out on the shelves are not worth the money. I’ll be taking my eating talents over to House of Cupcakes.

It’s too bad the quality seems to have gone down in the last year or so. They are still pretty good though, but not ‘as good’.

Not bad. But I’ve had better. They don’t seem to take the same care when decorating the cupcakes. Sometimes done too quickly and sloppy. Some flavors are «just ok» others are great. Would just like to see a little more attention with the decorating. I can get a cupcake anywhere, but I go to a speciality shop like this expecting something above and beyond.

The cupcakes are good most of the time. It’s a hit or miss with them. they are not consistent. Sometimes they’re really good and other times, though rare, you’ll get a stale one. It’s on a busy street and the parking is terrible.

Any birthday events cupcakes are ordered from Mr. Cupcakes since I’ve been introduced to them since 2007 great quality, amazing flavors, never disappoints. Please go for some of my favorites are birthday cake, red velvet, Southern red velvet, plain Jane, flan, chocolate sundae, the real deihl, lemon drop, carrot cake and so many others.

This place used to be good. Past 3 months nothing but DOWN HILL. Went in today and was met by a young girl with a HUGE attitude. Her eyes were rolling and she was huffing and puffing. If I had to guess I would say it was the owners daughter because anyone else who owns a business would not allow someone like that to work there.
Anyways onto the cupcakes. They have shrunken down to ¾ the size since they opened. 4 out of 12 that I purchased are completely stale. I can’t believe the 180 this place has done.
BAD ATTITUDE + BAD FOOD = BAD BUSINESS!

This place is just the PERFECT blend of taste and price (aka value). I feel like there were lots of cupcake stores a few years ago, but this place stayed in my heart because they are cheap but good! I don’t want to spend $ 4 – 5 on one giant cupcake. I love that they are a little smaller but it’s not like they are bite sized. They are a regular size and something I can enjoy at the end of the meal instead of seeming like a meal itself.
They have a variety of flavors and periodically add new special ones. I’ve never had a disappointing one. Because of the good price, I like to by 4 – 6 to share with friends or to give to a friend after i know they had cake for their birthday, so it’s an extra treat without being too rich that someone can enjoy it.
My only complaint is their hours. They are only open until 6 on weekdays, so when I drive by after work, I look over longingly. It would be so convenient for me after work vs. a weekend I have to intentionally decide I want the cupcake and drive over, so maybe there’s the hidden benefit of keeping me from going overboard on these babies.

Had cupcakes yesterday from here always loved them. Have to say this time they were terrible tasted like they had freezer burn and very dense I was real disappointed. The icing tasted stale.
What happen maybe they bit off more then can chew with 4 stores.

Mr. Cupcakes is a timeless authentic Cup Cake shop. The one you would LOVE to frequent if only it wasn’t SOO indulgent!
Extremely soft and flavorful cake. Beautifully iced & decorated. Your traditional buttercream taste and texture. And the best part, WAY cheap. $ 8.75 for 5 amazing cupcakes??? What’s not to love?
I had a sampling of (not all in one sitting of course… O.o. o. O) the French Toast, Red Velvet, Vanilla Chip, Lemon Drop, & Strawberries & Cream. All in all each was perfectly moist & delicious however my favorite by far is the Red Velvet. Best I’ve ever had. Not overly chocolaty & just the right amount of flavor and sweetness.
Needless to say… Mr. Cupcakes. you’ll be seeing me again. :)

Went here for the first time yesterday for birthday cupcakes. They have a very cute mascot who welcomes you into the shop! Once you are inside, the aromas are delicious and there are at least 20 different kinds of cupcakes for you to choose from. Ended up getting a dozen and at $ 1.75 a piece, this was a bargain for the northern NJ/​NYC area. Everyone seemed to enjoy the ones they had, which included French Toast, Cookie Dough, Tres Leches (or their variation on that), Raspberry Cheesecake, Salted Caramel, Birthday Cake, and Chocolate Peanut Butter. As you can see from my selection, there is a taste for everyone’s liking here!
The young lady behind the counter was fast and friendly. We also grabbed some cupcake candles that were very cute and a bit different.
The ONLY downside there is to this place is the parking situation. There is a lot by a liquor store next door but I’m not sure if cupcake-​seekers can park there. If not, there are only two or three parks in front of the cupcake store itself. Since we came on a weekday afternoon, we were able to find a park but this might be difficult during the weekend or on holidays.

being from out of town, I have never had cupcakes like these before. I have tried a lot of them too. We normally get one for the whole weekend, and we try a few every day! red velvet, peanut butter and jelly, hot chocolate, triple chocolate, french toast, cookie jar (one of my faves), chocolate caramel swirl (another fave), snowball fight, tiramisu (fave), and coffee and donut (my ultimate fave). that last one even has a mini donut on top! They don’t always have all these flavors so keep that in mind. I just know they are so delicious, and perfect amount of sweetness.

I’m not sure why this place has such good reviews. I have had many cupcakes from here and they’ve always been greasy and tasteless.
A good cupcake should be moist, not saturated with oil. The frosting on these cupcakes is heavy, tasteless and lacks creaminess. So disappointing.

This place is awesome! The cupcakes are baked daily, so they’re very fresh. We took a cupcake decorating class at the Clifton location with Christine and it was very worth it. We decorated cupcakes and got to take some of theirs home too. We also sampled some flavors there, so all in all got to try a variety including, French Toast, Carrot Cake, Raspberry Cheesecake, etc. All great! My favorite is definitely the Viva Las Leches, which is a tres leches cupcake. It is so moist and delicious.
They also sell smaller mini cupcakes that are perfect for when you want to try several different flavors.
Highly recommend them!

I am a mom of a toddler and with birthdays and school parties I seem to end up here often. I have made special orders and purchased out of the case randomly. Each visit my order was fresh and yummy. The worst part of my visit here is usually the person in front of me who doesn’t know what they want rather the fact that there’s usually only one person to take your order ! I know most people just run to the big supermarket to grab cupcakes but these are just so freakin good and the variety is great I think it’s a great value for the price. Go for it !

I LOVEEEE THIS PLACE. Their PB&J cupcake is my favorite and they always have amazing flavors to choose from. I have been there a few times and every time the cupcakes were moist and flavorful!
