People have no idea how to review a dive bar. The atmosphere was pleasant and fun on a busy Saturday night. The owner skip stops by to say hi to everyone and has an interesting story every time. People here are enjoying themselves. 5 drinks and the tasty pierogis were 28 bucks. Come on people, get off your high horses. If the bar were a little more clean it would be 5 stars. Also they only take cash. That’s all I got. If you’re in the area, looking for a cold beer, a place with diverse music playing, happy people around you and homemade pierogis that taste like your old school polish grandma cooked em up, then go here

Do not go here. The owner of the bar, skip, is a complete prick. He plays favorites with locals and is not friendly to those he didn’t know. Our friends came from out of town one night to visit us and skip wouldn’t let them in because it was«at capacity», yet he proceeded to let in other groups of his friends. Avoid this place like the plague.

The place is dark, dirty and disgusting. The tap beer is not warm and no where proper temperature. I would not eat here if the food was free. I could only imagine what the kitchen looks like.

I love this little hole in the wall ! Great wings, good drinks and fun to watch the game ! Just wish they would remodel a little but hey it builds character! Love either way !

I’ve heard about this bar from a few friends who grew up in the area. I decided to check it out one week day night when I had nothing to do. I walked in & it was kinda dead & there was weird music playing but I didn’t wanna write the bar off just yet. There was a hippy looking young Jim Morrison guy working behind the bar. I ordered a vodka & club, when I received my drink it looked like someone took a gulp of it, it wasn’t filled. Again I didn’t wanna write off the bar yet. I ordered a few more drinks throughout the night & each one appeared like he drank some before handing it to me. I didn’t understand why not fill the glass if I’m paying for it. Because of that I am turned off from this bar & probably won’t be coming back.

Owner skip is the man!!! Greatest kindest guy in the world One bartender(older blonde woman) needs to leave though. She yelled for id’s before we got fully in the door then yelled the beers on tap as if we’ve never been there before and then called me a cheapskate for tipping $ 3 on a $ 8 pitcher of yuengling… So I ordered all night and was gonna leave her $ 25 for the night till I heard her talking crap. I left her nothing but the original 3… Every other bartender though is amazing kind cool will chat with you even if your a newbie It’s a hole in the wall don’t expect nice chandeliers but do expect sharpie all over the bathroom but it’s not derogatory, it’s names and towns etc… I’ll go back unless I see the bartender then I’ll turn my back and go to pub46 or shots or Shannon rose

Favorite townie /dive bar to date(NOJOKIN). CASHONLY there is an ATM inside. The owner is the coolest guy I’ve ever met, Skip makes everyone feel welcome there. The bartenders are awesome, quick to refill drinks, and pour strong. Food selection is basic bar food, take my advice and go for the wings. Food comes out quickly and is very consistent. Theres a pool table and dart competitions are held here as well. Beer selection can be kind of weak but it never bothers me because aside from the basics like coors and bud, they always have magic hat, sierra nevada, and cricket hill on tap. And guinness when it isn’t frozen in the tap. Beer on tap served in a heavy frosted glass mug. Great liquor selection and the bar tenders will make you just about anything, and it will be pretty strong. Ask Tommy to make you«something new». Inside there are an abundance of oversized modern tv’s that show all the games. It’s a very OLD tavern, the building itself dates back a couple hundred years ago and was one of the first buildings on clifton ave. Back when clifton wasn’t clifton, rather Acquackanonk township! It’s dark inside, the mens room is filled with graffiti, it’s pretty gritty and thats the way I like it. Good place to stop in for a drink and kick it with the bar tenders, meet a new friend, bring a couple friends or a big group and go for the pitchers. Don’t come for the ambiance. Come for strong drinks, great people, a really fun crowd, and great bar food!

The Divy-est of Divy dive bars. Cash Only! This is definitely a popular bar with the Clifton Locals, this where i meet with my old hometown friends when everyone is home for the Holidays. They have a great local atmosphere and fantastic wings, definitely worth a stop if you are in the area if you are looking for something interesting.

Truly a real dive bar. Suggest you stay with bottled beer and plastic glasses! Doesn’t look like the place is been cleaned in years?

Drinks are cheap and strong and is walking distance from my place! They don’t except credit card but have a ATM if you need cash!!! Def recommend trying if you are looking for a good time!

I dig this place. Its def a dive but has wonderful hidden treasures. The 365inch tvs dont hurt the place either… great when you want to hang out and watch the games in your sweats :)

Okay so this is a dive bar so I’m trying not to be to judgmental but this place is an absolute mess! It looks like the bathroom and floors have not been cleaned in years! They offer a food menu but can only imagine what the kitchen looks like! The ceiling looks like it’s going to collapse any minute, so there’s barley any up keep. There’s a whole lot of random things hanging on the wall like every other bar and they have a old pool table and dart board. But besides all of that the one thing that turns me off the most about this place is the service. The bartenders are the absolute worst! There just mean and miserable and do not care about the customers one bit! The second me and my friends walked in we were reined out by the bartender screaming at us for Ids as we were pulling them out, which was not needed one bit and she continued to talk bad things about us to other customers sitting around the bar. I will NEVER return to this place!!!

A quick date with a person just met. Decent drinks(I would prefer less ice). Didn’t carry Grey Goose. Good wings. Atmosphere Ok, real bar atmosphere. seemed like regulars. I felt comfortable. Really nice handsome down to earth bartender. Table area can be kept a little cleaner. We had to move some garbage from the table. I would like to go back with better known friends and really take a look at the menu and see different varieties of drinks. Kinda of hard to really chk it out when on a first date. Seemed to have several varieties of Beer.2 TVs going. Towards the end of the night 3AM Saturday(Sunday Morn).seemed to have gotten louder and more relaxed. There is a pool table. Didn’t see anyone playing though. Music runs the gammut. One extreme to the other, so no one can say they don’t play their type of music because they DO. While I was there I heard«You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling» By the Righteaous brothers, and also heard a Rap song by Drake. Good neighborhood«BAR» that welcomes newcomers.

Love this dive bar. Amazing and cheap frosty mugs, fabulous wings, and six dollar pitchers for football. Skip, the owner, is a doll and wants everyone to be happy and feel welcome. He almost always buys a round for the entire bar when he is in!

On a search for a good dive bar in NJ, my friend took me here as a first stop on a Friday night out on the town. When we first walked in at 9 p.m., the place was pretty much empty. Maybe 10 people inside, including the bartender & cook/owner. Kids were playing darts, older folk playing pool, me & my friend throwing a few back. As the night progressed, this place filled up surprisingly. I must recommend putting a skip button on their Juke because some people that attend this spot sure don’t know how to select good drinking music(at least in my opinion). By the time we left there at 12 midnight, the place was packed. We had to go. It was being filled up with the wanna-be-Gotti types, which just annoy me. But I love this place and love the staff that work there. Kelly rocks, She is on point and quick to refill your drink. Food is served here. Typical bar food — and love the fact that they have pierogies on the menu. Makes me love this place even more. I’d give this place 5 stars, but you know, it was those wanna-be types that seem to go there lately that make me give it a star less.
