Always delicious food, such a lovely staff. Soooo many options and super prompt and attentive service. I even brought my parents who are NOT sushi eaters and they loved dishes. We also brought my brother who is in a wheelchair and they were so lovely about accommodating him and his bulky chair. I just love this place and highly recommend it.

Awesome sushi, and probably the nicest presentation I’ve ever seen. Wait staff and sushi chefs are all super nice and friendly.

Love this place! I was not a big sushi connoisseur at the time of my visit here but was pleasantly surprised. We ordered several different rolls and I fell in love. Everything was AMAZING! I have been back several times. The service is quick and friendly too. Spicy tuna is my favorite! Add to your list of must haves!

Our FAVORITE sushi in Macomb County!!! The Asahi Special is the best… although we love all of the specialty rolls. We prefer to dine in because of the environment and extremely welcoming staff. Even our kids love it!

Best sushi in the whole county! I had sushi once at another place a few miles away and it just was not as good. Asahi has some of the best rolls like the crazy boy. I also like their box meals which are good to share with a friend. The ladies are very polite and considerate. For example, I forgot my wallet once and had to call a friend and the ladies were very patient and kind. This is my favorite place to go after school, especially during exam week. I love Asahi!

Excellent sushi! If doing it all over again would not have ordered the soup or fried dumplings because the sushi is amazing!!! Would have been 5 stars but a gnat swarmed around my beer all night. And the guy making the sushi was drinking wine. Clean your drains people Also this is a small place so don’t go during peak times. Again though sushi is Killer good!!!

Way over priced. If you are a sushi lover stick with Fishbones or travel downtown. We ordered the very basic California Roll and it was warm, fell apart, and the staff struggled to communicate in English. We made a special trip here just for fresh sushi and this place left much to be desired. I’d pass on this place for now.

I wanted to eat Korean food, but I didn’t want to have to drive all the way to the west side to get it. Fortunately, my smart phone is smarter than I am at finding places. I ordered the stone pot bi bim bap with beef, and I was blown away by how flavorful it was. Plus, the dolsot(the stone pot) was delivered with a sizzle of the vegetables, rice, and beef arranged artistically within. The miso soup that came with it was sparse by itself, but a good accompaniment to the dish. I also got a single salmon roe nigiri sushi, which was tasty and a good size for the price. Having seen all the other reviews, though, I’ll have to try the fried sushi next time. But, that stone pot bi bim bap is a permanent fixture on my «must have» list when I want something hearty.

First time here and will definitely be back!!! Tempura was the best I have had around the area, just don’t compare it to Japan or Japanese restaurants in bigger cities. I would say it satisfies my tempura craving. Sushi was good, we always get spicy tuna but will try the more specialty rolls next time. Note that spicy tuna or spicy salmon don’t exist in Japan, it’s an American thing. Enjoy the atmosphere here. I will go to Noble Fish for sushi but if you want a variety of Japanese food, not just sushi, and Korean food then come here!!! I love Japanese and Korean food, so this one is a winner for me. I love chicken karaage but chicken karaage here is far from the authentic Japanese karaage, so that’s the only down side. Kamsamidaa.

I’m sorry, but the rice was not traditional sushi rice in the rolls that I tried. I won’t be back. Sort of a weird restaurant.

My boyfriend and I has been coming here for almost 3 years now. It’s a nice mom and pop place with great staff and the owner is very nice! We always get their bibimbap and crazy day roll(ALWAYS), but we get other stuff too like crazy girl, crazy boy, and udon. Out of all the bibimbap places I’ve been to, i must say Asahi has the best bibimbap! We super love their crazy day roll as well. Soup and salad are always fresh and yummy. Lastly, you guys should try their Tempura icecream. Super delish!

First time here! It’s a cute little restaurant. I ordered the spicy tuna, rainbow, 911, king salmon and another roll that I forgot. It was delicious! The meal comes with soup or salad. They also have some special rolls on the board. The service was great as well. I’ll definitely come back if I’m in the area.

I’ve eaten here so many times in the past month or so. I love everything I’ve ordered. Great little sushi spot. It’s about 25 minutes from my house, but well worth the drive! Diablo roll is my favorite!

I am a little partial to this place since it’s where my fiancé and I went on our first date. We come back every few months for a date night :-) The yum-yum roll is awesome! A must order if you ask me. The waitresses are very helpful if you have any questions. The chefs give you some crazy presentation as you can see from the pictures posted on Unilocal.Even if you order 4 rolls you may get a whole boat, yes I wrote boat, on your table. They also offer beer and wine for a decent price. The place is pretty small, and I can see how it may fill up quick, but we have never had a problem getting a table.

I consider myself pretty much an expert when it comes to sushi. I have eaten it all over the world. On my first visit they did not have toro, fatty tuna, this time they did. The first visit was great, but didn’t have what I wanted. This visit was awesome, especially considering I came in first of the day at 11am. The presentation is not cookie cutter, very original and the service is superb. I have never been during a very busy time, but have always been greeted and upon my exit everyone in the place says bye. Nice and intimate but not uncomfortable. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

This used to be my favorite little sushi spot. Even though I had closer places to my house, I never minded driving the extra 25 minutes to come here. Unfortunately, it’s just not worth it anymore. The sushi rolls have shrunk in size and just don’t taste as fresh anymore. The last one I got was falling apart and drenched in sauce. I still love their soup and salad, but if the sushi isn’t good, what’s the point?! I can get good soup and salad from somewhere much closer to home. The service has gotten worse, very hit and miss. It used to be top notch and very friendly. The owners used to always smile and come and greet you, but since they’ve left, it doesn’t happen anymore… just left with mediocre service by servers who don’t seem to care about being there. I miss the old Asahi and I probably won’t be going back anytime soon.

Oh hell no! Today I ordered their premium Sashimi sampler to go, and the Sashimi is CHEWY and GAMEY. It tastes like they didn’t get it in rice wine, I’m actually concerned it might make me ill because of that. And I dropped $ 30 on this order not including tip. This is unacceptable and I don’t give second chances when a place does this.

The overall experience was disappointing. The service was as good as it could be with only a single server. I was surprised to find out Shrimp Hibachi meant absolutely no sauce and peppers besides. The sushi was serviceable but far from the best I’ve ever had. Add to this the higher than usual prices and this is not the sort of place I would consider returning to.

I love sushi and this place is disappointing. I came here for lunch. Miso soup and salad which include in the sushi special are very good. Soup was not salty and salad was fresh topped with ginger dressing. We ordered salmon and amazing roll. King salmon was $ 12 and amazing was about 14. They came nicely decorated but disappointingly small for the price. However, the waitress was very nice and décor was very cozy. I might be picky, but this place is a So so for my taste. Small and overpriced portions with mediocre taste. I don’t think I will be back.

I gotta say just A-Ok, nothing ‘wowed’ me, and it’s average at best. Plussed for a great atmosphere, and awesome staff. We had a party of seven and they took care of us like nobody’s business. The first thing I took issue with was the top shelf prices. When I pay $ 13.50 at some places I get a massive roll, with the finest ingredients, and extravagant things like fried scallop or braised lobster on top. Here I got avocado and cucumber. BOREING! I just didn’t taste quality, and the eel I had was so chewy. Also, avocado in a baked roll is a sin to me. Just no. stop. Miso soup was damn fine, Ginger dressing good.
