When you have no where to go snd want a drink late night after midnight this is the spot I tend to go local. Strong enough drinks. Dive type place people usually friendly enough nightly karaōke happens not sure when it begins and ends though.

I ended up at The Hideaway by tagging along with a friend who frequents the place. It is definitely appropriately named; there’s no way I would have ever stumbled upon this place by accident. It sits far back from the road, directly behind some other businesses, so you really have to just know that it’s there. The Hideaway is your typical neighborhood bar. There’s nothing about the place that you can call fancy but that is what adds to its charm. It definitely draws an older crowd and on a Friday night, it’s pretty packed. Arriving around 8PM and it was impossible to grab two sets at the bar. The drinks provide your standard bar options(and I was happy to see that they offered hard cider) and the bartenders were very attentive, even though they stayed busy. The place charges $ 5 to enter after 9PM(even if you arrive prior to and leave to say, retrieve something from your car, you’ll have to pay to get back in) and while the cost is negligible, I’m not sure I’d be willing to pay it. If you’re looking for a laid back, no frills spot, then definitely head to the The Hideaway.

Have you ever been in a strange town and craving a great cocktail or cold beer. We were and then we found the Hideaway. Walked in and we were immediately welcomed and asked what we would like. Great margarita and ice cold Draft for my guy. Even if you’re a local… take the time to visit Sherry behind the bar that will not only serve you a great drink but feed you too. Awesome, friendly and just a really relaxing kool place. Wish they were in our home town of Carson City, NV.

So my friend and I went here last night because the local hotel recommended it to play pool. I feel like I have to preface this by saying we are not the Hideaway’s normal clientele… that said, we could not have had a better time. What a good bunch of people there. We showed up at about 9 and closed the place down playing non stop pool drinking like vikings and cutting it up with the locals. Next time I am around Andrews AFB we are back there for sure!

This is a really decent, no frills sort of place to hang out for a low key night of fun. I visited this place on a whim with a friend while looking for something to do on a rainy night. When we first arrived we noticed it is on the small side, and is definitely not fancy but the people seemed to be enjoying themselves. There are a few pool tables, televisions, a long bar and a small area for bands to set up and play/dance floor. We were lucky enough to stop by on Karaōke night, which ended up bringing in a full house. It was $ 5 after 9pm to enter if I’m not mistaken. The food was very reasonably priced and the drinks were about average for the what is expected in the area. We ordered chicken wings, which were huge and delicious. After Karaōke ended, the DJ(who was pretty good by the way) played a diverse selection of music and many people danced. We ended up having a blast. Very good sized crowd, everyone was 21+ and there was no trouble or fighting. All be back again at some point!

I had a blast at this place. Road past it for years and finally decided to go in once I was invited by a friend. They have a good specialty drink and karaōke. Needless to say one thing led to another and I had to be carried home. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Go there and have a great time.

Recently, I visited here on a Friday Night. It is truly a «hideaway» in that the bar is NOT situated along the roadway. You cannot see it from the main roadway(OId Alexandria Ferry Rd). It is located in the rear of the lot with Route 5 running nearly over top of it. It your typical bar, watering hole type of spot. There is a bar inside. There are also tables where you sit down, eat and drink. There are also several pool tables in the back. The crowd was a friend described as «local». However, they were pretty festive and mostly danced when good classic hip-hop, go-go or slow songs were played. If you are used to going to spots like The Fish Market, La Fontaine Bleu, My Place Sports Bar and Half Note Lounge, then you will not have a problem with the crowd here. The bartenders were courteous and attentive. Whatever you may be drinking, when your glass or bottle is almost empty, they will promptly ask you if you need a refill. In terms of food, I had their fried chicken. I must say that their fried chicken is probably the best of all the PG County establishments that I have been to over the years(for whatever that is worth). If you looking for a local, watering hole type of place in PG County, MD with a 20 to 40 something crowd with good go-go, hip-hip and R&B music, this is your spot.
