I visited for happy hour, not a place to get cheap drinks. The beer selection is good, happy hour, $ 5.00 drafts. The bar menu is limited, more selections would be good. Enjoyed happy hour, friendly staff, good brew, but there are better. They need to try harder.

Entering the place reminds me of a warehouse space. However, once inside its transformed to a typical Seafood Restaurant. The Bisque was really well prepared. Creamy and loaded with lobster meat. The Lazy Man Lobster is slamming. Flavorful and well serve. The Swordfish was surprisingly a big portion. Pleasantly surprised. The waitress was attentive. Will return for sure

This spot is a bit of an anomaly. At first glance it appears to be your classic seafood joint offering up classics like surf and turf, baked stuffed shrimp and lobster pot pie. But they lean new school too, with organic salmon, dayboat scallops and lobster mac’n’cheese on the menu. They’re justifiably famous for their generous happy hour bar bites and craft beer lovers will be thrilled with their extensive local draft selections. But we were here for a lobster roll at lunch and stuck happily to our mission. The moment I sat down, my waitress placed a small loaf of a warm and fabulous whole grain bread and whipped butter on the table. Not that I needed the extra carbs but who could resist? I’ll always take an onion ring over a french fry so loved having the choice here. For $ 1 extra, you can really pig out and have both(moi). The roll itself was the usual toasted bun with hot buttered lobster and ranks up there with the rest of the bunch. With an extensive selection of non-seafood items and a happening bar scene, this is a good choice for families, picky eaters and cocktail hour, too.

Fun atmosphere and great service. Mussels are outstanding and chowder is thick and tasty. Happy hour is the best deal in town and tons of local beer to choose from. Enjoy!

This place has the best lobster roll I ever ate. It was the double meat and had tons of lobster in if. Big huge pieces of tail meat and whole claws. The other food was perfect too. You need to come here and have dinner to see how good it is for yourself.

Authentic food from a bus parked downtown in front of a school. Picnic tables nearby or eat in your car in the parking lot. Portions are good. Variety good and sodas and water served. They sport one soup and one type of sweet. Cash only.

When you pop into a place with«Lobster» in it’s name, the last thing you expect to hear after ordering is «Sorry we’re out of lobster». Well not technically out of lobster– they did have whole lobsters, but they were out of picked lobster meat. As in the stuff that lobster rolls are made out of. No lobster rolls for you ! We were all set to order two lobster rolls this afternoon, but due to some reason we were unable to do so. So we switched to Plan B, which was an order of Shrimp Tacos and a Sante Fe Fish Wrap for $ 11 each. Both came with excellent French fries and excellent slaw. One common denominator in both of our lunches was the small portion of actual seafood in our sandwiches. Just a handful of small shrimps(two or three per half sandwich) and a small amount of fish in the wrap. My cup of RI chowder was terrific(and a pretty good value at $ 3.50) — great flavor in the broth and plenty of clams and potatoes. Bottom line? Well with the missing lobster from the menu and the missing seafood in our sandwiches, we were reminded of an old Shania Twain song — «That don’t impress me much».

I go here fairly often and it’s always a good experience. The food is tasty, especially the clear chowder. The servers are kind and seated my dad in a corner(he wears hearing aids and has trouble in loud restaurants). They are also very accommodating to dietary restrictions. 90% of the menu isn’t fried fish which is very refreshing. It’s all very fresh, well-seasoned, and tasty.

We live in New Britain so it’s a bit of a ride for us to come down here, but it’s always worth it. There happy hour menu is one of the best values anywhere! Matt the owner keeps some of the best local craft beers on tap. He knows his beers! Prices on beers are reasonable compared to some of the other restaurant I’ve been to. Ordered off of the regular menu a few times and haven’t been disappointed. Fried whole belly clams are very good. Never greasy or rubbery. Clam chowder is one of the best I’ve had. For a seafood restaurant this place makes some of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Went to a New England Brewing company beer dinner last night and all the courses were good. Great value for the price. We usually sit at the bar and the bartender Sara is terrific. Always great service wherever we’ve sat.

Hit or a miss… The lunch prices are absolutely stellar! Can’t go wrong with what the bring you for the price. Dinner is a bit expensive. Expect atleast at minimum $ 20.00 a person. This is a great place for some good grub though. Their pasta and shrimp is phenominal! And the raw clams and chili sauce is stellar. I would give this place five stars but Lenny and Joe’s down the street has pricing that is a bit better.

We had an excellent meal with great service. The lobster prices are not cheap, but the Westbrook lobster preparation is worth it.

Long time Shoreline favorite. The draft beer list is phenomenal. Many local breweries. The food is very good. I drank Outer Light Coffee Stout which I highly recommend. The lobster bisque and fish tacos are both favorites. The happy hour is extra happy. Stop by if your in the neighborhood.

The last time I went to Westbrook Lobster it was for a Bachelorette party. needless to say we had a blast… fast forward 8 yrs and I went the other night with my hubby, son and we met up with some friends who were visiting from out of country… It still has that gorgeous view of the Clinton skyline, well maintained, helpful staff(the manager took a photo of me and my son) it was still the same ol cool hip spot… I highly recommend it for showing company the highlights of sunset strip… I really had a good time!

Hubby and I tried their New England clam chowder and it is to die for!!! We haven’t eaten at the restaurant yet but got the chowder to go. They also give you a bread bowl to pour the chowder into if you want. I’ve had some good chowder but nothing comes even close to Westbrook Lobsters«chowdah»! With the cold weather fast approaching we will definitely be getting their chowder a lot!!!

I am so impressed. We had steamed mussels with garlic sauce(perfectly cooked and spiced). It was so tasty, we scooped up the remaining sauce and drank it. We also split a twin lobster dinner(came with two sides). The lobsters were cooked to perfection. It was tender and juicy. We’re coming back next week!!!

SKIPLENNYANDJOES! You want a really good seafood place with an interesting contemporary menu? Try Westbrook lobster. Looks like nothing special on the outside but inside an updated décor, great craft beers on tap. This place this a great marriage of classic seafood and new modern twists. So skip the same old touristy place down the road and head to Westport lobster. Great for kids with a great kids menu. Plus 2 dollar sundaes!

Came in on happy hour. Nice place. People raved about lobster roll with special seasoning. Lobster roll was barely seasoned and served with some fries that were refried and some that were fresh. Coleslaw was excellent. Also had raw clams oysters and fish tacos. That was excellent! Sarah was a great waitress! Saw her sitting people waiting, making drinks, she was all over the place! She had a great personality. She’s a asset to this plac

As a local, this is definitely a favorite spot! Especially for happy hour! Their happy hour tops most in the area. The owners and staff are always so friendly and attentive. The seafood is so fresh and the portions are spot on. My favorite dish is Sarah’s salad– I know it’s just a salad but it is fabulous; between their dressing, the crisp bacon, and the perfectly seared shrimp it just makes for one tasty dish. Their stuffed clams and mussels in a cream broth are awesome as well!
