Definitely one of the best restaurants for jjajangmyun/jjamppong. The noodles have always been cooked right whereas other places have overcooked the noodles. The other dishes like kkampoong shrimp and fried rice are also very good. For people complaining about prices, it is cheaper than going by fort lee area This is my go to place(over places in palisades park/fort lee)

Very good food but high prices. It is a mix of Korean and Chinese. Let me start with the atmosphere. It is a very clean cut space so you don’t get the home feeling but that is compensated by its modern architecture. All the side dishes they brought in the beginning were amazing. The radish kimchi was quite superb. The noodles in soup and seafood is what you should get.

You know, it’s weirdly difficult to make good jja jang myun it seems, but Ewha Won does it well. The noodles have good texture/flavor and the sauce is seasoned well. If I’m craving jja jang myun ever, I don’t hesitate to come here. One caveat is that their sauce can sometimes contain too many onions. The other dishes are solid, too. But it’s my belief that a Korean style Chinese restaurant should be judged primarily by its jja jang myun. Ewha won passes that test.

Went there for lunch at noontime and we were the first people there. The crowd starts filing in at 12:30. Food is great! We had jajangmyeon and tangsuyuk, both were very generous portions. After eating jajangmyeon each, we couldn’t finish the entire tangsuyuk so we brought it back with us. It’s always great to have something to bring back for round 2 later for dinner! Food tastes great and the service was quick! Would go there again!

OnThis is one of the better Korean-style Chinese restaurants in New Jersey. In particular, their jjajangmyeon tastes very good; actually, most of the noodle dishes I tried there were delicious. The jampong tastes great as well. For the meat dishes, definitely go with the tang soo-yook. The breading has just enough crisp when you bite down, and the meat inside is cooked very well. The sauce tastes sweet and delectable, and goes perfectly with the meat. Though gganpoongi(Fried Chicken w/Spicy Garlic Sauce) is normally my favorite dish in any Korean-style Chinese restaurant, the gganpoongi here is not that great. The chicken in the gganpoongi has a lot of fat in it; it would taste better if they used better quality white meat. The Fried Shrimps w/Spicy Garlic Sauce are essentially the same thing as the gganpoongi, but this shrimp version is twice as good as the chicken dish. BUT, every now and then the shrimp isnt as fresh as it could be, since they get the shipment the previous day. Most ppl cant taste the difference though, but if you’re picky about it you probably will. There aren’t too many tables, so either get there before the lunch/dinner rush, or make a reservation.

Korean style Chinese food. Pork fried rice is just perfect to settle the hunger. Beef with Leek is our all time favor. A bowl of egg drop soup in the mid of frozen winter will bring back all the warm satisfaction. Yes, I am the big fan and will go back for my pork fried rice craving.

The food here is great. The jjajang myun is probably the best around the area. The problem is with the service. When your server is around they’re very friendly and attentive until they’re done taking your order. You will never see them again.

This is a nice little restaurant, located in Closter. I have never gone to a Korean-Chinese restaurant before, and I was pleasantly surprised. My friend recommended the jajajangmyeon, and the dish was absolutely delicious! Don’t let the green noodles intimidate you, as the dish was great and the portion was huge.

Food tastes good. Too much amount for one dish so you don’t need to order for everyone. They serve Jjajang-myun with green noodle which is cool but no taste diffirence. I never seen green Jjajang-myun anywhere before. We were served in a room which is open to adjacent room. The customers in that room were noisy and disturbed us. I wish the rooms have more privacy with divided wall.

First time eating Korean food ever. We were the only non– Asians in the restaurant, but the waitress made us feel quite welcome and, at our request, suggested some menu items to try. I don’t know anything about korean food(yet), but this was a great start. If people seem unfriendly, it might be because they feel they don’t speak English well enough to be understood. My sister expected the bill to be around $ 40 or more and when we got the bill for $ 22 she was pleasantly surprised. Before we go back again I want to learn a bit more about Korean food and what I should order to be a little more adventurous.

Worlds better than chinese takeout! The spicy tofu in garlic sauce with rice was excellent. Spicy kick without too much heat. Portion sizes are good without being rediculous. Service could be a bit quicker, but it was dinner rush so that is expected.

Really good family style dishes. Jajangmyun with green noodles in a skillet, seafood assortment platter in a clear garlic sauce, and sautéed spicy chicken. The food however comes out realllly fast; we got two of the dishes in 20 min.

Ok here is the deal. Foods are average, not bad, not great. The potion was big, the noodle was decent, BUT customer service is horrible. It took us over 30 minutes to get check. We were waving, saying«excuse me» so many times but for some reason, the waitresses won’t see us until nice Korean customer next to our table called a waitress in Korean for us. I asked for more tea after we paid and they said«no». Also, no compliantly drinks after dinner for us.(all other table were getting). I asked the waitress nicely(«could we get the drink for my kids?» This is how exactly I said) and she said NO without looking at me Meantime, I saw other tables are getting them. My kids weren’t screaming, we weren’t complaining for 30 minutes wait, we were just eating and this is how we treated because we are not Korean or we don’t speak Korean? I will never go back even though the place is near from our home. Thanks for the service.

I always go for the Gan JaJang lunch special. That is their specialty. It is not as oily as some other places around. Freshly made and green noodles with a few peas as well(I think they said they use spinach to get the green color). Also I have tried their dumplings a few times and these were very good as well(not saturated with oil, just slighty crispy) Ban Chan accompaniment is good(Radish Kimchi, Mu, Raw Onion, Squash Kimchi). You also get Jasmine Tea with your meal. Staff is friendly and prices are reasonable for lunch. If they are busy though, do not expect a quick lunch. Things will take a bit longer.

Good jajangmyun that compares to Korean jajangmyun is extremely hard to come by in the States. When Ewha Won first opened, my entire family and I found this place amazing. All of their food was meticulously prepared, and the flavor was comparable to what we used to have in Korea. Unfortunately, a few years have gone by, and this restaurant is nowhere near as good as it once was. I think the kitchen has changed up, and the management has gotten more lax, because none of the food is the same. The noodles don’t taste fresh and seem thicker/chewier. The jajangmyun sauce is also bland and it definitely doesn’t have that Korean feel anymore. Even the jjambong is mediocre; they put WAY too many spices in it, giving it a blood red look. The restaurant is still quite busy on certain days, and I believe it’s due to it’s popularity that it slowly lost its way. They couldn’t keep up their quality. Overall, the food is still decent, but it doesn’t set itself apart from the dozens of other mediocre Korean-Chinese restaurants in the area.

Good ol’ Korean food. It’s just so good. This place from start to finish: It started off slow… ridiculously slow. It wasn’t all that crowded, but they took way too long with our order. Just had the side dishes there for a good 15 – 20 minutes after our order was put in. BUT! They redeemed themselves by giving us dumplings on the house! That was their way of saying sorry and their apology was delicious. After that, our food finally came out!!! We got a sweet and sour beef dish for the table and it was phenomenal. Comes with some lettuce on the side and the dressing tasted like secret big mac sauce. It was good. I had the gahn jja jang which is the made to order jja jang and asked them to make it spicy. Trust me, it was spicy. The noodles were green, which I’ve never seen before and it was delicious. Others got some rice dishes and they were good too. The portions on all the dishes seemed to a good size to get a normal person full. Good thing we had the dumplings and the sweet and sour beef :) Overall, a nice, cozy place for a quiet dinner. I believe it’s BYOB if you don’t want it to be that quiet.

This place is one of the few places that serves Korean-Chinese food that is not in the Fort Lee/Palisades Park area. A side from price(a bit pricey compared to the ones in Fort Lee) & kind of slow service it has everything going for them. My wife and I got: Ja jang mien: 2 bowls one for each of us. This is the black bean paste noodles. It is true that they serve green noodles, but don’t be afraid these noodles are delicious! It has the perfect texture, and taste. It is soft and chewy just the way i in visioned my ja jang mien to taste like. The serving size was pretty big compared to the ones we had in Fort lee/Palisades park area. Tangsuyuk: 1 order of this to share it is very large and perfect for 2 people. This is the sweet and sour pork. This dish had a different style & taste to the other Korean-Chinese food places we ate at. I personally loved it & prefer this style, but sadly my wife was not a big fan of it. The difference is simply 2 things: 1) the outside breading of the pork was much more crispy & thicker(my wife thought it was too hard to chew at times). 2) The style of the sauce was a but more thicker and sweeter rather than tangy. I personally would like this style more then the other styles we had in Fort Lee/Palisades Park area. Lastly, the servers are sweet hearts they are so kind and nice, but their attentiveness was a bit slow at times. It took them a while to refill our drinks/waters, and give us our check. I would definitely go back if I was in the Closter area again. Enjoy!

Probably one of the best Korean-Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood. Their food is tasty, clean and plenty to share. Fried dumplings, Spicy seafood soup(Jjampong), Mussels soup, Mapo Tofu, Seafood over white rice, Jajangmyun are all delicious. I don’t have to explain anymore. Just go. Please just go and check it out for yourself. It gets really crowded during lunch so try making a reservation if you can.

This place is a Korean Chinese food spot. To me it’s Korean food. To my Gf its Chinese food. What this place does well is a big o plate of sweet and sour pork or beef and the bowls of black bean pasta. The portions are huge. The pasta are green I’m not sure what makes it green but it doesn’t taste any different from other Asian noodles(bland). My gf always recommend the black bean sauce ‘fried’. The black sauce is very mild and heating it up in oil makes it more flavorful. To me it tastes the same with extra calories. But, my gf always order the spicy red seafood soup. It has the dried red chilis and the small fresh green peppers that wakes me up at 4am for emergency 10 yard dash. The combo of sweet sour pork, spicy seafood soup, and black pasta is one of the best dinner I’ve shared with my gf and her family. Be prepared for a long wait for your food to come out on busy nights
