We ordered udon noodle bowls. Wowza. I never had one served like this before so I’m thinking this is the real deal. A stone bowl and it came out boiling. It was delicious. I’m going back for sushi. The veggies in the bowl were perfect but I must say it was a long time before I could eat it as it was super hot.

Not a bad sushi spot, but way overpriced. The sushi is usually fresh, but not the highest quality. The pricing is up there, mainly because of the neighborhood. If you really want sushi, try to go when you can get a lunch special.

This place was okay. Not bad. Service could be better. Service was not horrible but the lady we got seemed pretty apathetic. Sushi itself wasn’t spectacular but not enough to talk about in a complaining manner. I’d say it’s safe to go here.

Definitely one of my favorite sushi spots in the area — very much of the Korean-Japanese kind of sushi. Sushi is fresh and you get a good amount of food for the price you pay. Udon is also good. Service is good. There isn’t much seating available but we’ve never had any issues when we have gone.

One of the ONLY places in NJ with spicy tuna rolls that actually taste somewhat hot. I think they put sesame oil in them(yum!) WOULDRECOMMEND!

Wonderful sushi place ever! I love their miso and green tea. I recommend you to have a King tuna roll. Tuna is really fresh! Chicken teriyaki was so delicious too. My little boy loveit

I WANTMYMONEYBACK! Food is terrible! Childrens menu is lame and food was awful. Don’t waste your time or money here. Chicken was dry and sushi was questionable in regards to freshness.

Definitely my favorite sushi restaurant in all of New Jersey. The green tea is very very very good. The beef teriyaki, tempura, and unagi don are all very good. The reason why I love it so much is because — unlike every sushi restaurant in New Jersey(if not the world) — it’s actually WORTHTHEPRICE! For ~$ 20, the unagi don has a miso soup, a house salad, seaweed salad, 2 pieces of sashimi, 6 pieces of california roll, avocado, 8 pieces of vegetable tempura, and an abundance of unagi don. I never finish it when I go there, and I’m always able to bring it home! The people there are also very very nice. Highly recommended. :)

This is based on a take out order. Chicken teriyaki was terrible. The chicken was really dry and the sauce was horrible. The quality of their sushi rolls were kind of questionable too. And to top it off it is way overpriced.

Don’t understand how this spot has good reviews still. When they first opened the sushi quality was great, now days, not so much. The sushi pieces are tiny, thin and mediocre in flavor. The service seems rushed like they want you out as soon as possible. The prices for their subpar quality sushi are astounding, I guarantee they don’t last in Closter much longer. Take the trip out to a better sushi restaurant, this place is gross and overpriced!

Mount Kisco is a great little Japanese restaurant located right off the main downtown strip in Closter, NJ. The establishment itself is very small, and offers a cozy and intimate ambiance if you choose to dine-in, though delivery and takeout are also available(and very popular, from the looks of it). There is both lot and street parking, and you typically won’t have too much issue finding a space on most nights. Now, onto the important stuff… A wide selection of Japanese appetizers, entrees and sushi are available. All the western favorites are here, from chicken teriyaki to the ever-popular California roll and various udon and tempura offerings. The menu certainly leans more towards the American palate and brown rice is also available from the sushi bar. Every time I’ve been here, the sushi has always been fresh and expertly prepared while the sashimi is top-grade. You can choose from modestly priced sushi and sashmi dinner combination platters or make selections à la carte if you also want to have one of their excellent entrees in addition to a side of sushi. While sushi is certainly worthy of being the star attraction of your meal, the entrees and appetizers definitely should not be ignored. There’s nothing better than biting into a crispy piece of shrimp tempura or delicious deep-fried soft shell crab to start off your Mount Kisco dining experience, and dinner entrée choices like the classic katsudon are perfectly seasoned and cooked. The service at Mount Kisco is also excellent, and the knowledgeable waitstaff can easily answer any and all questions you have about the menu, and their clear explanation of dishes you may not be familiar with might even encourage you to be a bit adventurous.

Excellent, excellent sushi. Also a large menu of non-sushi Japanese food for those who aren’t into sushi. The tempura is especially good. Prices are not exactly rock bottom, but not awful. Nice to see this little place pretty busy most evenings.

I have never given zero stars to a restaurant, and it’s a shame that I can’t. This place has the most abysmal service of any restaurant I have ever eaten in. Inattentive waiters who glare rudely when you point it out. The food was mediocre at best. Extremely disappointed.
