Bert’s Cut: Good bagels and sandwiches. Friendly service. Fair prices. First place I tried sundried tomato spread… real tasty. This has become my «go to» place.

Great bagels but needs work on customer service and organization. Just today at 9am on a Sunday morning they were out of at least half the bagel varieties. Another questionable practice is random people from neighboring businesses go behind the counter and start preparing their own food with no gloves and no food safety standards! Who are these people… Often wait times are long, even at off peak times. Again, 3 stars just for bagel quality and taste but needs a management makeover to tighten this place up.

This used to be the best bagel in Northern NJ. It was perfect, crusty but not hard on the outside and soft but chewy on the inside. It reminded me of the bagels I would pick up in the Bronx many years ago. Unfortunately the owner died a few years back and they’ve never been the same since. They don’t make the Black Russian(onion pumpernickel with sesame seeds) that was always my favorite. On top of that, the bagels are the big fluffy over grown pillow types that are like marshmallows, no crust and just a lot of bread. For some reason these types of bagels are ubiquitous in Bergen County and I long for the kind that Goldberg’s made before the owner’s death. If you like the marshmallow type of bagel then you’ll like Goldberg’s now, but I think you can go anywhere for those. You never know how a person’s death will affect you even when they are not actively involved with you. To this day I still reminisce about how good his bagels were. RIP.

This place is one of the best bagel spots in New Jersey. My aunt and I travel from Paramus just to buy bagels from here. Prices are good, bagels are delicious, what more can I ask for?

Staff was always looking for new customers to help out. I got a Taylor Ham bagel and it was delicious. There’s a lot of options here, with ‘everything’ bagels and fish and it seems like anything else too. There are also a lot of chips and drinks to go with your bagel. Lots of parking too

Really fresh bagels. I don’t know if it’s the time I happen to go at or in general but their bagels were very fresh and tasty. Just like you want your bagel to be the staff was very quick the line wasn’t very long but the staff still were going very fast to get everyone served. Waited no more then 5 minutes with 6 people in front of me. The staff was friendly as they could be considering they were running around trying to get orders taken care of. They had a lot of options as well besides bagels because they had a full deli counter so you could make sandwiches. I would absolutely go back to get some bagels or a sandwich.

Great local place: Bagels are great because they are chewy, and tasty! Service is nice and quick, despite a recent change in management due to the family who owned the place suffering a loss(we thought they might have shut down and we are glad they did not). They have special bagels for holidays(rainbow bagels! green bagels!) and a lot of regular customers that have their order waiting for them as soon as they walk in the door based on a smile and a wave. You have to love that feeling. My only gripe is that somehow their breakfast sandwiches are not flavorful at all. The elements are all there: eggs, cheese, the bagel is great… but the overall result isn’t great. Instead just opt for a bagel toasted with my recommended favorite: scallion cream cheese — toasted or not is your call. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve lived in NJ all my life so I consider myself an expert on bagels– even a bagel connoisseur if you will. Goldberg’s Bagel has one of the best water bagels I’ve ever had. In addition, the staff are so pleasant and nice! Clearly a family owned business where you feel at home! Definitely recommend!

Pretty decent bagels with decent prices. Their everything bagels are not loaded with toppings like I’m used to, but they’re still crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the inside. I do agree with fellow Unilocalers that the place feels rushed even when it’s not busy.

This is my favorite bagel… ever. When I moved to NJ from CT, everyone raved about all of the bagel places that I NEEDED to try. Although there is a slight improvement in the bagels 1 hour south(yes, that is sarcastic), I have never really been blown away by a NJ bagel. Enter Goldberg’s Bagels. These bagels are actually crusty, without being hard on the outside, and soft and chewy in the middle. They are bagel perfection. And the best part is… drum roll please… they do not put a ¼ lb of cream cheese on a bagel! Have you ever gotten a bagel with cream cheese and actually been satisfied with the amount of cream cheese on your bagel? No? Well then get your bagels here. You won’t have to use any kind of waxy/tissue paper to scrape off cream cheese as you are trying to drive to work. It’s amazing.

Terrible experience. The woman who I believe is the manager spent the first 5 minutes I stood at the register putting boxes away, before taking a prescription bottle of Amoxycilin(antibiotic) out of her purse and putting it on a shelf behind the counter. She then took my order, sniffling. As she cooked my sandwich, she sneezed twice, away from the grill, but saw me looking at her and immediately said«ohh allergies!» so I guess she hoped I hadn’t seen the RX bottle. At this point she asked if I want salt, pepper or ketchup. I very clearly said, «just ketchup» — I watch, stunned, as she put salt and pepper on my eggs, which she had cooked to a dry crisp at this point. When I asked if she put salt and pepper on my eggs, she said«oh I just put a little bit». When I said, I wanted none, she actually blamed me– saying«I asked if you wanted salt pepper ketchup and you nodded», which by the way was false. So, we have a sick and possibly contagious woman putting her hands all over my bagels, then getting snippy when I call her on putting what I didn’t ask on my breakfast sandwich. I will never go back to this place again. Their bagels are also mediocre.

Okay bagels with okay service. I’m not sure what is it about their everything bagel that doesn’t make me go «mmm…» like everything bagels usually do. I always feel extremely rushed when I’m here even when there are no other customers behind me. And I think that the bagels are a little smaller than most. They have a good selection of cream cheeses which is great. The vegetable cream cheese is delicious.
