Wattle Creek wasn’t far our favorite winery in Sonoma. We stumbled upon them in San Francisco in Ghirardelli Square. We had the pleasure of meeting Ben during our tasting. He was excited and passionate about his wines and his work. He taught us a little bit about each wine, and it seemed like each one was better than the last. We told him we were headed to Sonoma, so he suggested we visit the vineyard during our travels. We were not disappointed by our choice to try his wines again. He met us with a sampling of Sauvignon Blanc, so we had something to sip during our tour. He was so enthusiastic about the wine making process, I could have listened to him for hours. It is rare to find people who truly love what they do and find joy in what they do; it was clear that Ben does, and you can taste that in the wines. The tasting room is gorgeous — it’s inviting and relaxed while being upscale and luxurious. I think one thing that impressed me the most was that even varietals I don’t typically drink or like I found enjoyable at Wattle Creek. I look forward to having some wine shipped back east, so I can continue to enjoy it! Thanks Ben for your hospitality and for sharing so much interesting information with us! We look forward to a return trip in the future!

Had a blast at this year’s blending party! My husband Steve won and gets to name it for a 2016 release! I know what it’s like to go home with a winner! Wattle Creek Staff: well done event! We had a great time. Thank you!!!

This is a great little winery here in the Cloverdale area. This is one of the wineries within the Foley Wine Group and has just installed a new winemaker. His name is Matt Michael and he’s a shooting star in the wine making world. I have followed his career closely from his start at Quivera to Sebastiani and now to Wattle Creek. He’s also started his own small wine label(Baldessari Family Wines) and I have followed that label from their initial release in 2003 and have not been let down since. I really enjoyed the Malbec and the Pinot Noir and they are really good. Unfortunately, do NOT drive all the way to Cloverdale to find a tasting room. You shall be disappointed as their tasting room is located in San Francisco in the famed Ghirardelli Square. Fortunately, you can order wines via their website.
