These guys primarily make two wines, an Alexander Valley and a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Both are fine wines, but the Napa Valley Cab is definitely a big step up from the Alexander Valley Cab. During my last visit, our group tasted the current vintages of both wines, and a library selection of both wines. The amount of wine poured is enough to enjoy, savor, and to compare and contrast. The tasting room is very clean, organized, and tasteful. Their staff has always been knowledgeable and down to earth. This is a solid visit for those new to the area. I am deducting 1 star because their style of Cabernet is not for everyone. It’s aged entirely in American Oak — which creates a unique and distinct flavor. Technically, these wines are expertly made. Go try them for yourself!

One of the best American wines. Jason led us through a wonderful tasting and had great recommendations. Bringing a little wine home with us too!

Really really fine wine. Even had a glass of this on my anniversary dinner at Disney’s Napa Rose. One glass was 50bucks! 2nd time visiting this winery for their WinterWineLand event 2015 and 2016. I was the DD for both events for my friends, but the food pairing that they serve each year was really awesome. Friendly staff. Not typically snobby especially for the price of the wines here. I got a nice bottle of cab this year and I can’t wait to open it soon!(Baby due in July) The winery was also very entertaining this year. They hired a live singing and dancing Elvis!!! Good times. Really amazing wine. Be ready to spend… it’s worth it.

George is the man! So fun to do the tastings with him. we learned so much about the difference between their Napa and Alexander wines(the Napa ones are nicer). He took us on a tour to see the famous tower that’s on all their labels. We love cabs so we were looking forward to this, also colorado carries Silver Oak so we wanted to try it out. The house and tasting room are beautiful and they have wines for every year going back fifty. The wines were fantastic. 20 $ a tasting, we split it and it was plenty. The grounds are gates and immaculately kept.

Straightforward tasting room experience and short tour. Silver Oak works with Kuhl clothing brand for their wearables… AWESOME! So tired of all the crappy Cutter & Buck wearables from other wineries. Silver Oak is the Cabernet standard. Very cool to see them make blends now.

We just spent a couple of hours enjoy a tasting. We were treated to a tour of the operations and grounds by Darla. It was simply an amazing place. Thank you so much for being so fun and classy!

Our visit to Silver Oaks was fantastic. George was so friendly and knowledgeable, making the visit truly enjoyable. Even with a large group of eight, they accommodated us with personal attention and privacy perfectly. Additionally, the wines were fabulous! We have only positive things to say!

Pricey but excellent quality wines in a château style tasting room. We love coming here to taste and chat with other fine wine enthusiasts. The Geyserville site is further north but you will avoid the long lines and crowds of the Oakville site. Much more relaxing drive and experience. They still carry the 2007 which was a great vintage.

Silver Oak is in a lovely spot. The property is beautiful. Enter the tasting room and you are in heaven. To the right is a bottle room(perfect for pictures) and to the left– the tasting bar. In the middle, lots of nice gift items. They give you four nice pours at the same time so you can compare and contrast. These are the current release Anderson Valley against the current release Napa Valley and a library release of the two. Today they were 2007s and 2010s. I enjoyed their process as you can chose your favorite easily. I liked the Napa 2007 the best. Both 2010s were similar, though I hate to say as a Sonoma County local, the 10 Napa was a tad more interesting(in a good way). The 2007 Alexander Valley wasn’t even in the running at first, but then I went back to it and once it opened up, it was yummy too. You cannot go wrong at Silver Oak. The wine is superb and the staff is gracious. Don’t miss it – especially if you aren’t from the area and want to try some fine Cabernet.

Lovely tasting room(you can browse and shop) with nice tasting options. This is a classic great wine — they also have some older library wines that you can purchase on site. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about their wines. These wines are expensive in general so splurge and go for the specialty tasting! Big, well made, juicy and balanced(key word) cabs.

Amazing experience, AMAZING wine. We had the best service(Darla) as well. The only reason I wouldn’t give this 5 stars is because there isn’t much of a view. The tasting room feels like a pro golf shop. I would still highly recommend this one though, especially for those who like a big Cabernet.

Romana was so knowledgeable and passionate. Great tour, and discounts for purchases and you get to keep the glasses! Loved being exposed to a winery and a wine maker that WANTS to share their wine with the public. We got to taste some amazing Cabs. It was a great experience. Run don’t walk!

A remarkable experience and definitely worth the drive. The regular tasting is $ 10 and is their 2 current releases.(In our case it was a 2009 Cab from Alexander Valley and Napa.) We decided to upgrade to the $ 20 which was the 2009 and 2007 Cabs from each area. It was definitely worth the upgrade because the 2007 vintage was fantastic. While we were there, they opened a 2003 as well and it was beautiful. It was really great to be able to taste them all side by side. The cellar is pretty awesome and you can look for your birth year or any other special vintage that means something to you. We were celebrating a 40th birthday and everyone was very kind and helpful to us. We definitely walked away with a couple bottles!

Simply wonderful. Tasting Room staff was awesome. Thanks again Kim C. for the great experience. The wines are Silver Oak so they speak for themselves… and speak very well. The venue is magnificent. Great views. Great architecture. Definitely worth the drive. We’ll go back any time we get to Napa.

Beautiful site and great customer service. We had an appointment at 12 and decided to make a quick pit stop somewhere before it. The review for this place were great so we decided to check it out. The place was gorgeous and Dan was really nice and knowledgeable. We had one regular and one specialty tasting. I suggest everybody to choose the specialty one. It is only $ 10 dollars difference and the wines are much better. In summary, 5 stars for site, 5 stars for costumer service and 5 stars for the Cabernet wines. Keep in mind the bottles range from $ 60 to 125 per bottle

$ 20 for 4 tastings classic cabs or $ 10 for 2 current cabs. Very classy. We bought a 2007 cab. Got a wine glass and a very nice reusable burlap bag with the Silver Oak logo.

I don’t know how anybody could give this less than 5 stars. Wine was spectacular. I’d never had the pleasure of tasting Silver Oak, mostly because I’ve never tasted any wine that is upwards of $ 100 per bottle outside a restaurant, but the hubs had heard great things so when we saw the sign we had to stop. I wish I could remember the name of the guy who poured for us. He was so friendly and down to earth. We never got a snobbish vibe at all from anyone there. And we were very obviously out of our comfort zone with high end wines. We actually spent just as much time talking about local restaurants and breweries as we did the wine. We never felt rushed or pushed into buying. We split the $ 20 tasting and the pours were very generous. I absolutely fell in love with the 2006 Napa Valley, but our pourer talked me into the 2007 at $ 115, since apparently 2007 was THE year for Napa Cabs. We’ll see! Let me just say that I have never, not even for a second, considered buying a $ 115 bottle of wine. Call me cheap… that’s fine. I was hooked immediately though, and my only hesitation was taking it back on the plane. With our purchase, we got 2 wine glasses and half of the tasting fee waived. This wine/winery makes me wish I had the means to drink high end wine all the time. Our 10 year anniversary is coming up next weekend and this will be the highlight of our evening without a doubt. And I may never be able to drink a $ 20 cab again… but it will be worth it.
