Recently came for wine tasting on a trip with a few friends from Oregon. We didn’t want to go overboard with tastings, but found this little gem while out and about and decided to stop in. I am SO glad we did. The cost for the tasting was perfectly reasonable. The setting is small and cozy unlike many of the bigger wineries nearby that feel like a Disneyland ride. John greeted us right away. Even with a light drizzle, he was happy to chat and serve our wine while we sat outside. He was so pleasant, teaching us about the Dry Creek area, the specifics of each wine we tried. We loved him so much we asked him to give us a call the next time he visited Portland. I highly recommend adding this place to your wine tasting agenda. They even suggested a pizza spot for dinner that was superb. Amazing customer service and a great experience.

Came to Sonoma for a 4 day weekend and visited many many wineries. And this was by FAR my worst experience. They charge a lot for a tasting which does not equate to the pours that were offered. I sat with my friends at this place for about an hour and we only got a couple of tastings. The white wines were given so warm we had to pour them out. We decided to pay and leave because we were sick of the poor neglectful service. We went inside and told them that we were leaving. They said they would only charge us for 3 tastings instead of four! We did not even get half of the wines we should have been able to sample. I will disputing this charge on my credit card. Very disappointed in the customer service and the overall experience. The view, however, is amazing.

Beautiful grounds, service lacking. We visited Cast on a warm Sunday afternoon in October. This location has some things going for it, but in my view, more negatives than positives. The plus side: — Beautiful setting and view, high on the hillside with a wonderful view of the vineyards in the Dry Creek area. — lovely finishes throughout the winery, including the patio area and the(small) indoor tasting room. The negatives: — Service just didn’t align with the feel of the place — because they encouraged you to do the tasting outside, it’s sort of like a waiter’s service at a restaurant — but for the tastings it was typical to have 10 – 15 minutes or more to by before the next wine arrived. With a very short tasting menu(4 wines in a flight) you’d expect to be able to taste and complete it within 30 – 45 minutes. On our visit, we were there about an hour and only made it to the 3rd pour. — because of the table service, you never felt connected to the winery or the server. You got about three sentences of information and then they were gone(not to return for 15 minutes…) 1 so no connection to them, their wine making, or their stories. — 3 bottle minimum to waive 1 tasting fee. You’re pouring 2.5 oz. of wine for the $ 25 reserve flight, and one $ 40 bottle isn’t enough for me to get my taste waived? Just doesn’t have the neighborhood feel of the wineries that keep me coming back to Sonoma.

LOVED Cast wines. For a brand new winery they have some beautiful wines. Kim provided us with the tasting and she was so incredibly friendly and knowledgable, she told us all about the company and their different wines, she was obviously passionate about her job. All of the wines were fantastic and easy to drink. The facility looks new and modern and they offered us a little cheese and cracker plate with the tasting which is just such a lovely touch from a customer service standpoint, i wish more wineries offered this, it makes for an all over more enjoyable experience. There was a $ 15 tasting fee, however I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

I’m not very versed in wine-tasting experiences, but this one was a winner. Lovely woman handled the drinks for me and my buddy, and we tasted six(I think) wines overlooking the beautiful grapevines on a gorgeous Saturday morning, The little snacks that came with the wines were nice, as well, and I enjoyed everything I drank.

This place was fantastic! I’m not one to write a review, but this place deserves to get some promotion! Interestingly enough, I was at a winery across the street and THEY recommended to check out Cast. Have to admit, their sign definitely caught my eye as well. The tasting was what I pictured coming to wine country, but had yet to find. Every winery I have been to, the tasting was at a bar inside… Not Cast. I had the most beautiful tasting outside, on top of the hill, overlooking the vineyard and the hills beyond. The tasting was for 4 of their varietals, but we actually got to try all 6(the petite Syrah was out, so that was the only wine we didn’t try). Everything we tried was great. On top of that, we got a great cheese plate with some crackers and olives. Great touch! I admit that I am Sauvignon Blanc fan, so I’m very picky with those… I will say that Cast’s Sauvignon Blanc has been hands down one of the best I’ve tasted. You need to check this place out, I promise you won’t be disappointed. Thank you Cast! You have certainly Cast that spell on me!

The nice gentlemen in downtown Healdsburg recommended this place — saying it was relatively new to the block with some interesting wines. The grounds are gorgeous with Adirondack chairs facing the view of the rolling hills. Tastings are $ 15 per person, waived if you purchase a minimum of 3 bottles of wine. I enjoyed their Blanc de Noirs(a sparkling wine) and their sauvignon blanc — so I picked up a few bottles of those. They bring you a complimentary snack plate(cheese, olives, nuts etc) which was a nice touch. Staff is friendly. Nice place to visit and to picnic, if you have guests in town, you won’t be disappointed with stopping by here to relax and enjoy the view. But when I’m on my wine buying trips — probably not a location I need to stop off at again.

Unfortunately, this winery does not seem to find the value in all of us working in the industry. The industry discount that they offer is much lower than the standard which does not encourage me to send our guests their way. Always great to support our neighbors but I will think twice about supporting this neighbor for now.

Breathtaking views, this concept is different. The tasting room is a picnic area outside facing the vineyards. The employees come out and offer the tasting $ 15 for 4 – 5. The person we had was a French student and doing an internship, he was very informative. We also got a free cheese plate. Only downside, they don’t waive the fee if you buy a bottle. They waive only when you buy 3 bottles.

Stellar views at this new tasting room! It was a beautiful day to sit outside and taste on their porch! Staff who served us were knowledgeable about the wine and the winemaker and brought us cheese and snacks to nibble on while we tasted. They don’t have the biggest portfolio of wines yet and some were just so-so. Also, tasting is $ 15 unless you purchase 3 bottles of wine which seems a little steep compared to nearby wineries with better wine!

Amazing view and ambiance! My husband and I were looking for a winery with a good view where we could eat our picnic. Someone from Silver Oak Cellars suggested this place to us and we were beyond impressed! The wine was good as well, but we definitely walked away talking more about the beautiful picnic setting, service, music and the view.

Abigail was fantastic. This winery was tucked in on the northern part of dry creek valley, so it took quite a few visits to the area to visit. Also, the winery opened within the past year, so it was perfect timing. We’ve been to the surrounding wineries and this one is a gem. Better views than Ferrari across the street. The wines are also well priced and very good. They have a sparkling wine to a petite Syrah. My wife and I are red fans and it didn’t disappoint. The old vine sin is quite good and actually drinkable without food. It wasn’t jammy, but it also wasn’t a sausage-tasting zin. It was somewhere in the middle with a lot of complexity. Overall, customer service was great, the wines were great, and the views were quite relaxing. This is a must visit winery and we’ve been to dozens of wineries in this area.

Cast wasn’t on our list of wineries to visit during Winter Wineland; however, it was their sign off the main road, that caught our eye. We’re taught not to judge a book by it’s cover, but it is the cover that draws in the audience’s attention. So as we drove up the driveway and found our way walking into the tasting room, we had no idea what to expect. But the anticipation, the scenery(amazing view!), the friendly staff all contributed to our experience. It also helped that our first taste was of something bubbly, and that’s probably one of my weak spots. The other tastes were less memorable, and in fact, my girl friend probably enjoyed their chai tea more than anything else. However, everything we DID like, ended up scoring points towards Cast being one of our favorites for the weekend!

Stellar view, wonderful(friendly and knowledgeable) staff, delish little nibbles to accompany the wines(almonds, olives, dried fruits, and cheeses), AND they were open and accommodating to my dog. Broad line up of wines from sparkling, to sauv blanc, to pinot, to petite sirah and cab. The place to be on a beautiful sunny day in Dry Creek Valley.

The folks at Ferrari-Carano encouraged us to stop by this little gem, and I’m so glad they did! Our server was that perfect balance of friendly and unobtrusive. She encouraged us to sit on the patio for our tasting, brought us water and a delicious cheese board to nibble on. All the wines were spectacular, and the view was breathtaking. This is the perfect spot to just sit a spell and revel in a perfect wine country experience. I hope it’s just as perfect next year! I’m giving this winery a 4 only because the price points are higher than I prefer, but again, the experience and the wines themselves are stellar.

Stopped by today with my Mom and we were floored by the beautiful views, beautiful wines(the Petite Sirah is beyond amazing!) and helpful, friendly staff. I even particularly loved the soundtrack they had playing outside.(I asked and was told it was The Smith’s Pandora station… a delight for an old Goth like me.) Amanda was amazing, as was a young man who helped us(we regretfully did not get his name). Both were knowledgeable and refreshingly easy-going. We had a wonderful time and will tell everyone we know! Thanks Cast!

This place is amazing! I have been up and down Dry Creek Road so many times and was itching for a new winery — and someone suggested Cast. We got there and it was quite busy, and we LOVED it. The owners/staff were all so friendly, the wines are fantastic… and the location perfect. This is a beautiful place to come sit outside and enjoy the view, wine and a picnic. We stayed here the longest of any wineries just soaking up the view, trying wines and chatting with all of the friendly employees. Do not skip this place, I’m making this a regular stop!

What an amazing location, the view is obviously a bonus added to some epic wines. I fell in love with the zin, walked home with a few bottles. Abby was an incredible host, look forward to coming back to see her soon!
