This is the perfect place to visit and taste wine. There are cute cats and other animals around, the wine is organic and they offer interesting varietals, it’s a casual atmosphere, the grounds are beautiful, and it’s a fully working farm with great organic produce.

I have been to Preston two or three times and every time is fantastic. Most recently, we drove to Sonoma on a late Friday morning and made it to Preston by the early afternoon. The tastings are great — choose four tastes of the options on the menu; if you’re with a group or another person, you can all mix and match! This visit we especially liked the Madame Preston — it’s a white Rhone blend that was superb. The tasting room has that country-kitchen feel to it, the servers are really nice, totally warm and friendly, and even let us check out the back kitchen area when we asked about a contraption we could see through the window(it was a commercial bread mixer). Even better are the picnic tables outside — a bottle of rose and some tasty sandwiches that we brought with us completed the afternoon. I especially like that Preston does some single varietals that you won’t find often: cinsault, mourvedre, carignane. And they’re all delicious. Sadly, individual bottles are just beyond my price-point for casual drinking, but for special occasions, definitely a great choice. Delicious wine, great scenery, friendly people.

Preston has been one of my favorite wine makers for several years now. I’m in their wine club and I always look forward to the arrival of their quarterly shipments. In true Dry Creek style, the highlights of their collection are really the reds, but they make some very interesting and thoughtful whites too(I particularly like the Madame Preston). It is hard to find a Preston red that I don’t like. Lou has really mastered everything from Italian grapes, to Rhone varietals, to a really remarkable Dry Creek zinfandel. My current favorite is their Petit Sirah, but really it is hard to choose! The winery itself is also a lovely place to visit and enjoy a picnic. Whenever friends from out of state want to go wine tasting, we always take them up to Preston. Pick up some olive oil and you will not be disappointed!

I really like Preston. The place has the feel of a very well managed family farm that makes good wines with very responsible agricultural practices. The wines are very good; I especially like the preston red. The whites also have a lot of character. The place is beautiful and the bread is one of the best I have tried. Olive oil is good too. The cats taking naps under the sun are funny.

Hands down one of my favorite wineries. The location reminds me of Provence, the organic and biodynamic wines are fantastic and the bread is rustically perfect! Bring a picnic, buy some wine and enjoy!

Because it’s off the beaten path and a small vinevary that I love I almost don’t want to tell the world about it, but it’s well worth it. Seasonal wines, fresh cheese, homemade bread. As you wander towards the tasting room you are surprised by the beautiful garden, fresh produce for sale, and friendly smiles. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
