I had the brisket served at my graduation party. The meat and bbq were a hit. The sides are so-so. I would recommend giving this place a try!

Meh. Way way overpriced for average tasting barbecue. I have no problem paying top dollar if the food is great, but this was not the case at Dickies. They close way too early. I was shocked to see that they are closed at 9 o’clock.

Wasn’t bad but wasn’t great. My husband wanted tri-tip and come to find out they don’t sell it. He got a brisket sandwich which he said was ok. I think my favorite was the fried okra. A bit of advice to the owner/manager… Please have your female employee pull her hair back in a hairnet as her hair was flying all over the place and also most restaurants don’t allow workers to have acrylic finger nails while working with food. I’m not trying to tell you how to run your business just giving advice

Great BBQ!!! Hard to explain, but the food is excellent(BBQ) which surprised me because they are busy and rip through tons of meat! It’s on the pricey side, but meat is high everywhere and good BBQ takes time and effort.

I don’t like that I can’t order tri tip at a BBQ place. I know, this is a very silly and stubborn way of thinking, but I live in California, therefore, I WANTTRITIPAS A BBQOPTION!!! The brisket was fine. It tasted great, I just want more of a structured meat. Does that make sense? I don’t want it to be flakey meat, I want hunks of meat in my sandwich. I paired my entrée with the jalapeño beans. Don’t be fooled by the jalapeño, it is mildly spicy. Yes, there is free ice-cream, which is awesome. But the place is a bit small to sit down. It is more of a take-out kind of place, which screws up the ice-cream cone to go option. It is however, very well priced. ESPECIALLY with the coupons. This place fits the bill, if you’re craving BBQ, and can’t make it over to Mikes or Doghouse, you’ll feel BBQ satisfied.

OK let me start out by saying it isn’t the worst barbecue I’ve ever had. But I will never go back and waste my money. The ribs are over cooked dry and have no seasoning. The brisket is dead and tasteless. The pulled pork is good but when I can do that in my own backyard and make the right kind of sauce for it. I gave this place three tries. My dad said he was upset for even trying the place. He also said the only good thing was the free ice cream. LOL we didn’t even get any. Sorry there are other place that have way better barbecue for way better prices. Now I will say the place is clean and the fried okra was really good a bit salty but washed it down with the sweet tea which is also done well.

Food, atmosphere and free ice cream cones… delish! Consistently good each time. Restaurant is always clean and service is lighting fast. Everything we’ve tried has been very tasty! Love the new Sierra vista location too! Update: stopped in 1÷12÷16 for dinner and walked right out. Their prices went up significantly. Deal of the days went up from $ 7.99 to $ 10.99… For walk up order style way over priced! Very disappointed because the food is good but NOT this good. Sorry had to drop my stars from a 5 to 3.

‘Twas good! Ate some bbq pork and beef, along with my side dishes. Not bad for a new place to try, a lot of ppl there when I went to eat for Friday night. Free ice cream w/order of anything you order, says one of the worker’s there! Yay ice cream! The cone is there so you go get the ice cream yourself. Need to try the ribs next time!

The brisket and okra will bring me back. The layout is awkward with how backed up the line gets to place orders; it has been out the door which blocks the entry and exit. The dining room is very casual with country themed but pretty plain tables and chairs. It’s not fancy but it doesn’t pretend to be. The pork was dry so I don’t recommend it. I like the spicy sausage. The macaroni and cheese is okay, as is the«baked potato casserole,» which is really just mashed potatoes with cheese and green onions. The brisket is delicious and I can never find fried okra anywhere so that alone is a win for me. All of the sauce options are good, too, so no complaints there. My biggest complaint has to do with the beverages. I think that $ 2.50 is really high for soda fountain drinks in a restaurant with no table service and, while you get a reusable plastic cup, they do not offer the option to get drinks at a lower price if you come back in with your original cup. You just have to buy a new cup each time, which is silly to me. One of their features is a soft serve ice cream machine where diners can have a small dessert, on the house, after their meal. It’s a nice little touch.

BBQ in the fast casual concept, definitely not the best BBQ meats in town — slightly dry, but the delicious spicy/normal BBQ sauce is kept warm which is unique, while the sides offered is interesting and surprisingly above average in taste, think of it like the Chipotle of BBQ, and for that segment, they aren’t doing too badly. The prices to be honest is on the pricey side($ 10 and up per person), but not as expensive as Westwood. The reason I am a fan of this place is the fast service –done within 5 minutes, the variety of meat selection offered is vast(pork, chicken, beef and sausages), their packaging is neat and spill friendly, lastly the cleanliness of this place is pristine– which makes it ideal for dining in. Their prices and the taste of the meat is not the tastiest in my opinion, but the convenience of its consistency is quite the draw. On a different note parking is very easy here, and to save time order via online and just pick it up. The system is fast casual which means you order via a conveyer style at the counter, then pay, and finally receive your food. No waiter service. Extra: Kids eat free on Sundays, and Free ice cream for them everyday, wohooo, wish I was a kid. The meal I tried was the picnic pack for $ 27.95. The meal came with a choice of 1lb of meat, 2 medium size sides, 4 bread rolls and finally their normal BBQ sauce. The meat selection was the beef brisket, it had a good flavor but the meat was very dry, this was the biggest disappointment I had, but the 1 lb portion was more than enough to be shared with 3 people in my house. The bread rolls was the highlight of the meal, it was so soft, and like eating pillows. While their sliced and lightly breaded deep fried okra sides was crisp and fresh, but slightly over salted, I would request a easy on the salt next time. Lastly their beans tasted just like any other BBQ place in town, so I guess that’s pretty good. The BBQ sauce itself is very tasty, but it is on the sweet side, I do like how the BBQ sauce is kept warm– I would personally request for the hot BBQ sauce next time– because that sauce is the bomb. Although they do offer extra BBQ sauce on their self help side bar for you to take as much, again kept nicely warm. Overall the food here isn’t too bad, yes improvements could be made on the dry meat, but overall they do taste good– I mean its no fast food but not gourmet either. The prices is not too bad for the portion– its not generous that’s for sure, to be honest it doesn’t look much when I took it out, but once I feasted at home I was stuffed. On my last note, I do love the environmental friendly packaging and the non-use of styrofoam, so kudos on that effort.

Saturday special, brisket sandwhich of your choice, coleslaw and beans for $ 9.99 and comes with a drink, get your own BBQ sauce from their dispenser. Good deal and comes with soft serve ice cream! Staff doesn’t smile through nor greet

My girlfriend and I workout at GB3 down the street, and decided to stop into this place because we had a gift card we got during the holidays and never used. Glad we did. In fact, my girlfriend told me I have to write a review. To start it off, the pricing; I found it fair. We don’t eat fast food much, but we were on a road trip last week and were looking for a quick bite, and stopped at like an Arby’s or something. No joke spent a dollar less there then I did here for two people. At least the food here is worth it. This place is very clean and family oriented. Free soft serve ice cream and kids eat free on Sundays. Staff is very friendly. That old phrase, «fake it until you make it,» must be in play here because if someone was having a bad day, you couldn’t tell. Cashier was cracking jokes with us even as we were walking out the door. Food was good. There BBQ sauce is amazing. Said it for years and I will say it again… ALLRESTAURANTSSHOULDSERVETHEIRBBQSAUCEWARM! I will be stopping into this place just for waffle fries and bbq sauce. As I said, very clean here and anytime anything was running low, the staff was on it. In fact everyone was on point. My biggest kudo was to the manager. I used to supervise a restaurant and a manager who gets their hands dirty when they don’t have to is rare. The manager actually got out there and wiped down tables, as well as restocked product with his staff. They weren’t very busy either. In my opinion that is a respectable attribute of management and reflects the business in a very positive light. My motto always was as a supervisor, «I will not ask you to do anything I wouldn’t do, or haven’t already done.» Well, this guy just does it with them. Service goes a long way in an establishment and that is why I gave this place 5 stars. We’ll both be in again.

Not a fan. On 2 occasions the brisket and pulled pork was dry and without any smoked flavor. Famous Daves or Westwoods are much better. Not much of an atmosphere inside. Do not like to stand in line to oder.

Finally got a chance to try out this place. This is one of my bf’s favorite spots, he loves this place. As for me, I was not impressed. I got the Lil’ Hoagie with beef brisket and my bf got the bigger pork sandwich. We each got two sides and a drink. For the amount of food for that we got, I feel like it was a tad overpriced. The meat was really good, waffle fries were delicious. The bbq sauce was a little runny. Loved the free ice cream.

I’m going to keep this brief. Service was average, meal was expensive, onion tanglers were oily as hell, BUT the meats were delicious. My credit card info was compromised at this location(Clovis), so buyer beware. I notifed the store the following day, so hopefully no one else is a victim. BOTTOMLINE: Meats are tasty, but the oily tangers are unforgiving, and an unsafe processing system makes me hesitant to return. Seriously average, three stars.

Great Bbq, went on a Wednesday and had the deal of the day. It was a pulled pork and sausage sandwich. It was delicious, I’d recommend it to all. Tons of food at a great price. Sides are really good, I had the fries and coleslaw they were a good addition to the meal. Service was quick, and friendly. The store was clean with a casual atmosphere. Fun for the kids, they had the free ice cream and loved it.

Maybe I should have listened to the other reviewers, but I’m on a mission to try out all the BBQ places in the Fresno area… Dickey’s was a huge letdown. Portions are ridiculously small for what you spend, and I got some of the worst ribs I’ve ever had in my life. The wife ordered a Big Barbecue Sandwich which cost $ 7 with tax, and it was about the same size as a $ 1 Arby’s beef slider. Honestly, the sliced onion and pickles probably outweighed the amount of pulled pork they«piled» on. Pathetically small. I ordered a three meat platter with briskit, ribs and smoked turkey, and again — very small portions for the price. It’s an expo kitchen as you order, so you can see them plating your food, and when they were plating my ribs, one of the cooks grabbed an end piece from a slab he had just cut from and asked the counter guy if that was okay to use. Counter guy nodded a quiet yes(as if I wouldn’t notice). The person who ordered before me also got ribs, and his portion had to be at least double what I received. If I would have been given actual«ribs» like he got instead of the crappy end cut, I might not be complaining about them, but when I got home, I tried to eat what I could of them but they were all gristle and jerky. MAYBE about two bites of meat there. The turkey may have well been lunch meat, but it wasn’t necessarily bad… just not good barbecue turkey. Tasted very injected. The briskit was pot roast. What is it about this town that has everyone cooking briskit to taste like pot roast? Dickey’s briskit is chewy and stringy, and tastes just like pot roast. The sides were okay, except I take issue with the fact they dress the Caesar salad on the line. When I was watching them plate my order, the counter girl pulled a container of pre-dressed Caesar salad out of a low-boy, and I just knew it was going to be a soggy wilted mess by the time I got home. Overall, a huge disappointment. Small portions, bad food, high prices and employees that don’t really care about quality(example, my ribs). I will not be returning to Dickey’s again. That was a $ 27 lesson…

So, this place opened in the same space as my old haunt, Blockbuster Video. I was anxious to see it open and yet I didn’t go right away. I read the reviews and I have to say they run the gambit. My first impression is, it’s very yellow. Okay, I like yellow. It’s my favorite color next to green, so I had really high hopes. I go to every BBQ place in my town but I’m not happy with everything about those places. Could I be happy here? Would I be happy with Dickey’s? The order process is simple and I do like the choices for the«sides». I chose the Okra and the Coleslaw. Not ambitious but I wanted to start out simple. For my meat I chose the hardest meat to do in BBQ — BRISKET. So here’s the low down. Everything was small, small, small even down to the bread. 1 little, tiny, itty-bitty bun.
Sides: There was enough coleslaw for 3 bites. Okra, there was enough to satisfy. The coleslaw was good, I just wish I’d had more than a few bites – why? I’ll get to that soon. The Okra was awesome, I mean, it’s fried-crunchy and they gave me plenty to satisfy my green fix. So, yeah for the sides, and nay for the portions. You’d think that for what they charged they’d give me more than a few bites of cabbage? Brisket: 1st impression… Dry, small and DRY. It was dry, that’s what I remember. It wasn’t over smoked like some other place(I shall not mention) but it was really, really dry and I tried to eat it with the 3 bites of coleslaw I was allowed. The 3 Sauces: Sweet, Spicy and Original? hummm, they are pretty good. I can’t say anything negative about the sauce. However, not enough sauce to make that Brisket any better. It was pretty dry. Drink: Was water. Water was pretty good and I really liked the crushed ice. In fact the ice was awesome! Just the right consistency and no weird after-taste. In the end not enough water could make that brisket better. Free Ice-cream: I see why this place is loved. Who can turn down free soft-serve on a warm day? It was pretty delicious. Price: Too expensive for my wallet — when I think of BBQ I keep going back in my mind to this little dive in Fort Worth, Texas where they piled the juiciest brisket on top of 2 slices of big white bread and 2 heaping sides of your choice, sweet tea & pie(extra) all for $ 12.00. Dickey’s was total of $ 13+ which doesn’t include the drink. *I may have to go back to Texas to find out if the price went up… but still…* Sorry Dickey’s, you didn’t live up to my expectations. Will I go again? Sure! It’s just down the street and I get free ice-cream when I leave — I guess Ice-Cream does soothe the soul in the end. This is what happens when you become a chain store. Thank you Dickey’s – please don’t become the Walmart of BBQ! So, for that alone, I’m giving you 2 stars Dickey’s! Please try to revamp your Brisket though, it was too dry for anyone to eat but maybe there’s a shoe factory that will use it. Next time I go I’ll try the ribs… who knows that may be your best meat on the menu and I simply passed it up! The moral of this review is: Yellow color means CAUTION. Be prepared to pay out the nose for tasty tiny portions and dry brisket.

I don’t understand the four-five stars:. Seriously. Lol. Came in really excited and left disappointed. I ordered the Western two meat(cheese sausage and chicken) with a side of Mac &cheese and fries, my boyfriend ordered the special of the day(Saturday’s special) with a side of jalepeño beans and potato salad. Dry, dry, dry and uhhhh, DRY! They have their original, spicy & sweet BBQ sauce and both of our sandwiches were covered in the spicy sauce. Mac & cheese was mediocre, beans tasted straight out of a can, potato salad was bland. Overall: save your money, not worth what it cost. Oh, but thanks for the free Vanilla ice cream cone! Best thing at that joint.

Dickeys is what I would call«Fast Food BBQ» The food comes extremely quick. Since it was a new place for us to try. We went ahead and orders all the meats possible. If I didn’t, I couldn’t give it a honest review, right? ;) Anyways, we ordered(2) 3 meats plates with a side of Chicken. All the meats were decent. Not mind-blowing by any means, but not terrible. Some of my favorites was the Turkey, Cheddar Sausage, and Brisket. I’ll probably pass on the reg sausage, pulled pork, chicken, and ham next time. The sides were what you’d expect from a fast food chain. A-OK. We ordered the BBQ Baked Beans, Jalapenos Beans, Macaroni & Cheese, and Potato Casserole. Barbecue Beans… Have you ever had Bush’s? Then you’ve had these. Jalapeño Beans… yeah Mac & Cheese… meh Baked Potato Casserole… You mean Mashed potatoes with cheese melted on top? But regardless of what they’re called, they’re pretty good. The Service was decent, and the décor is great. So in closing, I’ll be visiting Dickeys again for sure. It was reasonably priced and the food came very quick.
