Good place to hang out with friends for a beer or two or with family. The food is actually pretty good, different on a nice way. Medium to medium high price range. My family like this place.

Dustin and Jacob are the 2 best bartenders in Fresno. You always feel welcome and comfortable when they are there to take care of the bar. I love the duck and all great people I have met there! Don’t forget to get the tater tots and French fries! I little birdie told me that they might be serving«curly fries with a twist». How amazing would that be I am so excited! I highly recommend the mad duck.

Timothy Murphy here and think the Mad Duck is great. I lived in Clovis, Ca in the past and frequented the Mad Duck several times. it was family owned I thought and the daughter had a great smile, intelligent and came right up to me to talk. The staff must have been trained the some way. I would suggest a night out there to anyone. The food is great, the beer is great, the staff is great, and the family(at least the daughter? I met) is great. and look forward to visiting the Mad Duck very soon and talking in person with her again. 559−681−6861

We ate a late lunch here and were surprised to find it absolutely packed! We were able to grab a table against the wall, and our server came almost immediately to take our order. Unfortunately, we hadn’t really had a chance to look at the menu and then had to wait quite a while for anyone to come back, which was mostly a result of how busy they were. We ordered the walnut and pear salad, the sweet potato tater tots, the burger and the pepper jack mac n cheese. I really appreciated that you could order ½ salads and small orders of the mac n’ cheese. The food was very good and there were some unique flavors. The curry aioli with the tots was amazing. The tots were also good on their own, crispy and well-seasoned. The macaroni and cheese was good, though it had an unexpected herb flavor and needed salt, but it was also very good. The burger was cooked well and had very fresh toppings, though it came without mustard, mayo or ketchup and we had to request them. I wish they had told us that when we ordered, and we would have asked for them at that time. The salad had a good tangy dressing, though the walnuts were raw and bitter. I wish they’d gone the extra step to toast them a bit. I would like to try the second location because my one issue with this restaurant is the layout. There are a line of booths against the back wall, a few regular tables near the back and a bunch of high top tables for two/three. When we came in we were lucky in that a server was passing by and told us we could take the high top that needed to be cleaned or the bar. She was quick to clean it and get our menus. The rest of the hightops were taken by two large groups and blocked off the restaurant for the servers, which meant when we needed anything we had to try to catch someones attention and they had to squeeze through to get to us. This isn’t really the restaurants fault, but something that probably happens when they’re busy and will require some patience for everyone. A final note as we sat by the door so we observed at least three pairs of people came in the door and wait because it’s unclear if you should seat yourself or wait to be seated. Even for my we weren’t certain if we were seated or told the available options to seat ourself. All these people left because no one came to speak to them and most likely, due to the aforementioned tables, no one saw them. I felt bad that this good little pub is losing business from an issue that could be solved by a sign and/or better table arrangements.

Nice, fast, friendly service! We only came for a few beers and some apps. If you like spicy goodness try the buffalo dip. That with a nice cold beer is perfect. They have some great IPA’s and local beers on tap which gives the place a very«local» feeling.

I am giving the Mad Duck 3 stars, the food is always superb. Love the warm goat cheese appetizer, the steak salad is the best, and the bread pudding is awesome. The reason for only the 3 stars is the service. The service there is very hit and miss. If your not 20 something it tends to be more miss! We have sat at a table watching them go to the same table 4 times before coming to ask us if we would like to order something. We usually only stay if we can sit at the bar!

I have been her on numerous occasions have have always had a good time. The place is smaller than average so you do have to wait on occasion, but otherwise its a great spot doe a hang out and some drinks. I have gotten the buffalo dip, the taters and fries, the lamb burgers and all have been really good. Also they have sangria’s that are delicious as well as the craft beers for good prices. Its a real homey feeling here, comfortable and a great relaxing place to meet up with friends and catch up

Came here for the first time for a late lunch and really enjoyed it. Happy hour every day from 3 – 6 and all day Wednesday’s. I got the steak salad and a small basket of fries to share with my friends. The salad was awesome, came in a big fin bowl like you’d eat at home. Steak was cooked medium rare and was delicious. Fries were nice and crispy. The restaurant is a little smaller than I expected, didn’t look like it would accommodate big groups very well. The service was good and quick enough. I’d go here again.

BUFFALOCHICKENDIP!!! Ah. I’ve tried to recreate the taste at home, but it’s just not the same. This pan of deliciousness is very salty and loaded with calories, but, that’s what you’re supposed to eat with beer! Their burgers are also very juicy and delicious. If you like Eureka burgers, you’ll love Mad Ducks burgers! Good crowd. Some young, some older its a nice balance of people.

I’ll have to give this place another chance, I went there for lunch, had the fish n chips and a beer… it wasn’t very good, the fish tasted burnt and the beer was a bit sour. I’ll give it one more chance.

Went by to place a takeout order after a long day at work. Decided to have a cocktail at the bar while I was waiting. Bartender was nice and made a good cocktail for me. Decided to get the steak bites appetizer with the chimichuri sauce.(They were delicious) For dinner I took home the BLT&A sandwich that was made with molasses bread.(The bread choice made the sandwich way better than a traditional BTLA) My boyfriend had the Pulled Pork Sandwich which the bartender recommended and made the point to let me know that they make everything in house, including the BBQ sauce! He really enjoyed the sandwich and was only able to enjoy half since it was packed! We will definitely be back to place more orders Togo but would love to enjoy in house sometime too.

Oh my. The Mad Duck is the real deal. We stopped by on a very busy Sunday afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed the food, beer and the service. The food. Loved the fried pickles. Most places don’t fry pickle spears. This was a pleasant surprise. I had the Triple Bypass – one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in awhile. Pulled pork, ham, bacon and two fried eggs stacked on a roll. Bring an appetite. You’ll need it to finish this monstrosity($ 9.95 – are you kidding me?). My guests enjoyed the steak sandwiches they ordered. The beer. The home brew Mad Dog beer was exceptional. We’re surprised it’s not available in stores or by the growler. It’s good. They also stock great craft beers like Firestone, Sculpin and many others. It doesn’t get any better. The service. From the moment we walked in until we left, we were treated like friends. The service was prompt, courteous and always there without feeling like they were hovering over you. This great service was while they were packed. Unbelievable. We could never see ourselves living in Fresno(just not for us). But when we’re back in town, we’ll stop by the Mad Duck.

We came here for lunch on a Saturday. The place filled up real quick! I love the rubber duckies lining the top of the bar. Nice touch! Plenty of tvs, so if you’re here to watch a game, it’s perfect. We didn’t actually try any of the beers, but the people around us seemed to be enjoying themselves. And they have a huge variety! Now, for the food. There were 4 in our party. We started with deviled eggs. They were so fluffy, with crisp bacon bits on top. Mmmmm. I had the veggie burger. Probably wasn’t the best choice. It was a little dry, but everything was fresh. My husband had a fried egg and bacon sandwich on sourdough. He said it was delicious. The egg was perfectly cooked and the cheese was melty and gooey. Perfect. My stepdaughter had the bacon blue burger. She said it was really good. Her boyfriend had the jalepeno burger. He ate it all, if that’s an indication! But THE best thing on the table in my opinion were the sweet potato tots with an aolie that was sweet and creamy. You could taste the sweet potato flavor in the tots. Beautiful. We highly recommend the Mad Duck!!!

Decided to write an update since now I’ve been here more than once. My 4 star rating still stands because nothing in the place wow’d me, but it’s still a good place I’d like to come to frequently. Last time I got the southern fried chicken sandwich, a side of sweet potato fries, and two beers. I wish I would have taken a pic but I was already a little tipsy and very hungry so as soon as I got my food I devoured it. The chicken sandwich was cooked perfectly, but there was hardly any coleslaw in it, which was disappointing. The sweet potato fries were really good, thick and not too sweet. It also came with some kind of dipping sauce which complimented the fries very well. Also my sandwich came with a side of I think blu cheese which I dipped the fries in as well. Simply awesome. As for the beers I got a barrelhouse stout and something else I don’t remember. Both were good. Not too pricey, but not too cheap either, that came out to $ 25. The service was a bit slow, but there was only one girl working the bar and it was packed. They need to have at least 2 people at the bar when it gets busy like that. Cool place to hang out with a friend or two, I really wish they had a bigger space because when it’s busy it’s hard to get a place to sit, especially at the bar. Next time I come here I will come mid day so it’s not super busy.

Had the triple bypass again. Amazing! No soggy bread this time. Also had the buffalo chicken sandwich. That was OK. A little greasy, leaking and stuff. Fries were also amazing. Onion rings a little burnt… OK service.

Drinks were good. Food was good. Fish N chips was great, big hunk o fish. Sat at the bar, it was crowded but service was still quick. Jug-o-sangria is a must.

Disappointed I think. I had the Lulu burger. Feta cheese.? Really don’t recall it. The garlic yogurt sauce was almost non existent. Was the patty frozen? We split the Mac and cheese. It Tasted like thanksgiving for some reason. Maybe the bits on top are seasoned crotons you buy for stuffing for thanksgiving? Weird. Asked for salt and pepper, the server went thru 4 – 5 sets before finding any bottles with anything in them . Chicken salad buffalo style was so-so. Kind of bland food, frozen? Not happy. Slow to get refills on iced tea.

My Husband and I keep hearing about how great the Mad Duck is(we have an acquaintance who swears by the steak salad), so we’ve tried three times to at least get in the door. It is a small sports bar and is always crowded, although it has patio seating as well. It must be good, right? On our third visit, we finally managed to get a seat at a back booth. We were then promptly forgotten. We perused the whole menu(a couple of times), watched the sports event d’jour on the TV and talked and finally were acknowledged. The server seemed less than enthused to take our order however, I guess salads and sodas weren’t representative of a big enough tip? Short-sighted. My Husband and I are generous tippers, as long as the service is good. The menu has fish and chips and many burger options. I typically love meat, but for some reason ordered a salad instead. I probably should have tried a burger. I had a Chicken Caesar salad, but the server forgot the chicken. So, I had a Caesar salad, which was meager, stingy on dressing(tasteless) and served in metal bowls like I used for water for my cat. My Husband had the Asian Chicken salad. He shared his bland boiled, or poached(tasteless) chicken with me. There was no salt and pepper on the table to try and remedy the salad. Seriously people, HOWDOYOURUINSALAD? We ran out of our drinks. Finally, a nearby female server came over and refilled our drinks. Her table seemed happy. We were becoming less happy by the moment. Our server got his way with a stingy tip. No tip would have been better. We had to go to Starbucks afterward to make up for some of the damage. Will we go back? No. We’ve tried Mad Duck, and there you have it. However, if you go, please for the love of everything you hold dear, try a burger. Maybe that makes all the difference.
