The Soul Food Kitchen

well, after reading the other post i was scared to try this place, but what the hell. maybe it was a bad day for someone? now to the food and service. i ordered the chicken fried steak and ordered it with brown gravy and i must say it was very good. everything was hot and very delicious. the inside is clean and well lighted. see posted pictures. plenty of food also. when i come back in town i will stop here again.

Da**it, I have to give this at least one star to write a review. Anyway, please DON’T EVER come to this place. Trust me. So, we walk in and get to experience the wonderful aroma of s**t. Then we sit down next to these country muthaf**kers who stare and mumble at us city slickers. They only have water, few coke products, and unsweetened tea. I asked for bacon wrapped jalapeños for appetizer. «We’re all out.» Menu says entrée comes with bread pudding as dessert. Why the f**k they have a dessert section beats me. But guess what about the bread pudding? «We’re all out.» My gf asks if they have pecan pie which was on the menu. Guess…“We’re all out.” While waiting on our d**n appetizer, waitress comes out and says, «You two ordered the mac and cheese and… „We’re all out.“ At this point, I ask if they already started cooking. She said yes. I honestly didn’t give a damn and said I think we rather leave. But I decided to go ahead and order another side dish since she agreed to knock a dollar off. Our mozzarella sticks finally come out with… ranch. Where the f**k is our marinara sauce? Anyway, remember how the bread pudding was out? Well, why the hell did I overhear another waitress ask a couple who just ordered if they are okay with bread pudding? I say,» Excuse me, so you guys have bread pudding because our waitress told us you’re out?” She says, «We have 2 pieces left.» Oh, okay, you dirty muthaf**kers. They finally bring food out and she tells me matter of factly they DO have mac and cheese. Um… cool. Yams were nasty. Cornbread? was nasty. Gf didn’t like her food. Waitress did give me a military discount and didn’t charge us for cobbler. But too late at that point. I won’t ever be going back.

This was the worst «soul food» I have ever had! The service was slow and we were the only customers while we were there, We should of took the lack of customers as a sign! It seems like they took tv dinner fried chicken and just refried it. We will NEVER go back here!

I would not go back to this restaurant! My chicken fried steak was all breading. My husband ordered fried chicken, mac and cheese & collared greens. The bottom of the plate was full of grease and the chicken overcooked. My moms chicken wasnt cooked at all. My tea had black things floating in it. The food was expensive and it took a long time to get our food.
