Jeremy is right– there is a smelly ashtray out front… we also call it a «bench» here in America. Had to get my trademark joke in there… it’s better verbally in public. Anyway, yes, there is always mini-mall customers out front smoking. When you pass them, you feel like you are intruding on a clique’s territory. We go in here sometimes, and plan to go more often. We just discovered that the prices are not as high here as we thought they were. I bought faux«Chips-Ahoy» cookies–«Cha-Chings” — for .99. You can’t beat that price. Their ice cream prices are the lowest in town– no kidding. That is huge. The vegetarian/vegan/organic section is very impressive. Great produce and sale prices make the whole shebang even better. There are cool trinket/candy machines at the front left that make a kid’s day.(We were devoted to those machines in the seventies.) Goodwill is next door, along with a pharmacy, UPS, a small eatery, a nail salon, etc., and the Haywood Department of Health, an entity which discourages smoking. Note: This review was updated in mid-March of 2016. I discovered that I was mistaken about this store– it is actually laid out very nicely inside. I will never know if I was envisioning a different location, or a different chain entirely when I wrote the pre-edited version of this review. The bench is mostly sat upon by all, not just employees from Food Lion. I did a surveillance.
