Located nowhere in the Coachella Valley, the Augustine Casino, Café 54 is located within, is all alone along fields of open land. Not much good to say about the casino(more to come in a separate review), but Café 54 has it going on. A somewhat small buffet, it features different themed menus each night of the week, such as Mexican, Italian, and BBQ($ 13.95 per person, a steal really). On Friday and Saturday night it’s Seafood($ 28.95 per person), and the main feature — 5″ all you can eat Lobster tails. Needless to say, any night you choose, I think you’ll be pleased. No vibe, but who cares!!! Lobster, and Lobster, and Lobster ========================== I went back for Lobster tails 5x. Along with trying a plethora of other morsels, I’d have to rate(in order of delish): Lobster, Lobster Ravioli, Crab Legs, Prime Rib, Kielbasa Sausage, and Pork Loin in a Mushroom Sauce. Everything else was average, but the aforementioned with loads worth the price of gold. The casino is not very good, but if you need a fix — it’ll work. The buffet, however, is worth the drive. Tip === Arrive at 5pm, no line. Arrive at 7pm, 45 min wait.

Our favorite place in the Coachella Valley. Buffets are better than some in Vegas or Laughlin. Friday and Saturday seafood buffets are very good. Tuesday Mexican has the best enchiladas, chili verde, and rellenos.

Have been coming here since the buffet was outside on a patio. The food has gone down for some reason. Prime rib is always horrible. I get it every time in case this time it might be good. It seems all their food is covered in some cream sauce. To try to hide the fact it’s bad. The only time this place is good is the Italian pasta on Thursday. The stir fry station. Don’t get me started on the seafood buffet. Lobster is always over cooked. Chewy and with slight hints of what I want to say is ammonia. Also only savior here is the stir fry station. I don’t know what chef Jaime has been doing but it’s obvious its going in the wrong direction. I still come since it has been a part of my routine for several years. Sad that they are slowly making me look for alternatives. Please fix it guys.

Café 59 Augustine casino, I don’t gamble so I will only comment on the café. First off it is not like Augustine casino is a destination location. Pushed way way back in the southwestern corner of Indio not alot of traffic passing by. Free Valet parking of course(please tip your valet if you use the service don’t be cheap) nice young man working that night. Quick service out of the car and in the building in no time. The crowd in the casino was a cross between a Wal-Mart I once visited in Alabama and a mariachi festival. And yes its a casino so naturally the carpet looked like the place is frequented by bulimic clowns. We visited on a Friday night lucky us all the lobster and crab legs you can eat for $ 27.99 get the players club card and get $ 5.00 off. Now understand we were there in early summer no waiting 7pm we were seated with no wait. I have it on good authority between early fall and late winter you may have to wait as all the snowbirds are still in town. Our server was very pleasant and had our drinks to the table soon after our first lobster hit the table. Liquor orders took a little longer as they had to come from the bar. And when our drinks ran low our server was there for refills. my cup runnith over with vodka and tonic. The star of the show Lobster: Baked with drawn butter. It worked out great with lobster leaving the chafing dish as fast as it got there it was hot and ready to eat. I had three tails(I know how that sounds but don’t judge) the first two, little bit over cooked normal buffet issue. But the planets aligned for my third and was done to perfection. Next up prime rib: Well it was prime rib uncut as well as cut horseradish. Nothing special could have used more seasoning and did not see any au jeus tisk tisk. And then: red potatoes in garlic sauce. I have found it best not to asked what a dish is comprised of. I can’t even guess what is in those taters. But I like em! And batting clean up Crème brulle: nice burn on top but the custard was not very fine. However it did taste like crème brulle and I thought that was important. Now in closing you may wonder why I give four stars. Its like this $ 27 for all the good lobster you can eat with all the sides is hard to beat. Some things were good some not so good. If want atmosphere don’t come to Augustine’s casino. if you want to pig out on lobster I can’t think of a better place

I went to Augustine casino Café 54 Buffet for Lobster tail. We had to wait about one hour to get in. It’s very smokey inside restaurant since it’s located next Casino area. Also the restaurant looked old. Service wasn’t good neither. I was disappointed since we cannot get Lobster tail ourselves. If u want more, u have to stand in line. Except Lobster tail, shrimp, & crabs, there was nothing I wanted to eat. I probably won’t go Café 54 Buffet anymore.

I give this place a 5 for there food breakfast is the best here! This was my second time going first time was all great including the waitress but this time the waitress we got was super rude I forgot her name she was a older lady! We would ask for things and she gave us attitude and gave us the things in a bad mood. This lady looked like if she didn’t enjoy working there and did not know how to treat her customers!!!

All you can eat lobster tails on Fridays and Saturdays. The prime rib and raw oysters is good! Not kid friendly though no one 18 is allowed.

I’m not a fan of buffets as a rule since I never feel I eat my money’s worth and the food isn’t very good but you can’t beat Café 54. They have a variety of food options but I can only vouch for the items I’ve tried. The coffee is great, the steak they start you off with is pretty good, definitely stop by the omelette and waffle station and get one of each. The omelette is prepared however you want. You can get regular egg, egg whites, and even fried egg. The freshly made tortillas are a MUST. I tried the cheese blintz and that’s pretty tasty as well. They have a lot more items but I just stick to what I know. All of this for $ 7.50…

I’ve been coming to Café 54 for several years now, ever since my parents moved out to the valley. This restaurant has always had the most reasonable prices with generous portions. Even the buffets are very reasonable. Very good breakfast, lunch or dinner. You always get a little discount when you show them your casino card.

Nini and I have enjoyed many meals here, Breakfast, Lunch, Diner, and special Holiday meals. All have been very good. The Chef Jimmy is very friendly and remembers his Guests. The Seafood buffe with all you can eat lobster is super.

Great food here. We have enjoyed all of our meals since they opened! They honor veteran’s every year. Today we met with friends and had two veteran’s in our group. The complimentary meal for Veteran’s is a special treat. Thank you for supporting our Veteran’s and active duty members of our armed forces!

I have noticed until now I only comment on bad dining experiences and to be fair I should share positive experiences as well. Augustene’s Café 54 is my first positive review! :-D I really like this Café, the prices are good and with a players card discounted and has additional discounted senior days. My favorite is breakfast. The omelettes are the best for a buffet… Those girls know how to get it done. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. My only low mark would be the fact they no longer have wi-fi for their customers. I think they are missing the boat there.

Wow have you had Steak and eggs for $ 4.50 lately? Well inside Augustine Casino there is Café 54 that has daily Specials and you can get a huge breakfast(steak and eggs) for $ 4.50. It came with a pretty good steak, 2 eggs any style, homstyle potatoes and toast. This casino is known for their food at their café and is able to offer you a great deal. Check this café out if you are in town for the Coachella Music festival or any other reason.
