Delicious homestyle food! Ribeye salad is amazing as are the onion rings. Friendly service, always accommodating.

First time here and actually never knew it existed. They had great pizza. I had the pastrami pizza with white sauce. Mmmm… and a vodka red bull. The bartender was really nice as well.

Where do I even begin. The service is always great and the staff is very friendly. I was constantly getting refills and the food was AMAZING. I ordered a salad. First of all it was huge. It had so many different veggies on it, probably one of the best salads I’ve had. Being the only vegan in the family can be tough at times especially when my family want to go get steak. But the staff was incredibly helpful answering all my questions and making sure my food was vegan. But for all you meat eaters out there, my family says this place has the best steak and the rest of the food is amazing. I left totally satisfied and I definitely will be returning.

Ok so establishment is not fancy. Don’t go for the ambiance because you will be disappointed. Go there with the intention to enjoy the food and you will be fine. Steaks are great can’t go wrong. Clam chowder was soooo good. Fries are really good. More like a wedge but good. Steak sandwich is literally a full steak on a roll, nothing else. It left a little to be desired. Go to Harris Ranch for ambience, come here for the food:)

Amazing food. Great service. The only thing that would make it a five star is if it wasn’t so loud from the bar. :). Of the few times I have eaten there, I selected the prime rib or sirloin. You get a lot of food(huge slab of meat) for the price. One time I ordered the pasta and I was less impressed. But the steaks/prime rib are so good and tender they melt in your mouth. The flavoring was perfect. If you are a steak sauce person… Try it without and you’ll find you don’t need it!!! The meals typically come with soup/salad, vegetable, potato/rice and bread. It’s a small restaurant connected to a bar with only a door between the two. Seating is somewhat limited and it is best to call ahead to make reservations, but not necessary most days.(Valentines, however is a must).

We weren’t sure what to expect after reading reviews and when we walked in the door. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Guys each had the Thursday night pork chop special and loved it. We gals split the rib-eye sandwich with split order of fries and onion rings and side salads.

The food here is great but service has been slow in our last 3visits! Be ready for a wait they typically have 1 young waitress who seemed super overwhelmed with 3 tables full. Specialty pizzas are great all pizzas are great. Don’t expect fancy servings as they use a lot of plastic containers for side dishes but do expect a great stake which makes up for the slow service.

I just got a large salad to feed my family and it was enough for one person. They charged me $ 5. The lettece was old. I enjoy their pizza but will never purchase anything else.

Seems like the best place in town, good service, the friendly neighborhood place. The only problem is it would not take American Express. We both have the steak sandwich was very good unique homemade french fries. We ate in the restaurants side, but there was a full bar next door connected to it, though they use the same kitchen

As a local, I know we get«used» to things and don’t notice a lot of details. I’ve eaten at Mountain Oysters a million times. Well, maybe only a thousand times, but I’ve never ever been disappointed by the food. It’s not the snazziest place, but the food is good, hot, consistent and comes relatively quickly. Today’s experience was a new aspect for me. I was stuck at home, unable to GO out to get food, yet very hungry. I ordered a large salad, buttered toast and a side of small beans. Not only did they arrive at my door with lightening speed, my server was cheerful, polite and very kind. The food was totally up to my expectations and the convenience of having it delivered was unsurpassable. It’s comforting to know that even in our tiny town there’s someone other than the pizza parlor who will deliver food. My only hesitation about eating at the Mountain Oyster is the occasional interference from karaōke in the saloon next door. I usually telephone to ask when the karaōke will be active and avoid that time frame.

Love the people, the food and the atmosphere. Their pizza is killer as is their prime rib. The prime rib is better than other steakhouses in the area for half the price, in my opinion. Kobe burger and the salads are really good also.

Great food is an understatement. Steaks are from cows that are grass fed. I had the new york steak, and it was amazing. No steak sauce needed. Ranch is homemade. That is a plus for me. Steak soup is homemade with rib-eye steak. The jalepeno poppers are the best I have ever tried. Also tried the chicken club. Another hit!!! Will be going to this place regularly from now on. WAY better than perkos!

I went here once… and remembered, how rude the people were. They ignored me and when I asked to be seated… they said they were closed… I didn’t bother arguing because even if I did, i bet they would’ve spat on my food anyways. SORUDE! P. S. This place is dirty too!

Being one of the only real restaurants in town this place could use a little help. Food is ok, side portions have gotten smaller every time. Staff is hit and miss, and the table setup is a bit odd and can only accommodate a small number. I think we only go back because the only other choices around here are pizza and Mexican.

I have had such a blast at this place… both the restaurant and the bar. The service was good, the food was great, and the beer was cold… what more can you want! We will definitely be back! YAYMOUNTAINOYSTER!

Yeah, I’ve eaten here. It was a while ago. I remember it. What does that tell you? I do remember thinking, «OK, I have to find a reason to come back to Coalinga because I have to eat at this restaurant again.» There is a bar next door. It’s a bar. A bar is a bar. I didn’t come here to drink, people. I came here to eat. Nice salad. Fresh, interesting. Some leafy things I don’t recognize, hey, that’s good. I should branch out from iceburg lettuce anyway. Besides, it gives you something to do while you’re waiting for the meat. I don’t know where they get their steaks. I’m thinking, maybe, God. Directly from God. He may even come down to cook them, because it was perfect. Perfect in every way. Texture. Smell. Sight. Taste. The sound of it sitting on my plate. That’s all the senses, right? Anyay, these people know how to BUY a steak and COOK it and SERVE it. Coalinga, California. Yeah, that’s what I thought.
