I had been pricing flooring to replace all my upstairs carpet and wanted to price hardwood flooring so I contacted Select Wood Floors to give me a quote and was pleased that John, the owner came out quickly and quoted me a very reasonable price. John listened to my ideas about wanting a creative design incorporated in the master entryway, though I wasn’t quite sure exactly what. He came up with a couple designs and ended up doing a beautiful job on all the flooring. The job was completed in the time frame that I was quoted and there weren’t any additional«hidden» costs which I appreciated. I have received numerous compliments on the floor since the installation and highly recommend Select Wood Floors if you’re looking to upgrade your home with beautiful hardwood flooring.

I was contacted by John’s wife to edit my review as it is hurting their business and given extra information, so I am writing a update. When I was there in April doing major repairs and remodel from all the damage a tenant did, the water damage to the wood floor under the refrigerator turned the wood black and lifted them from the floor, so since John had done the refinish job in 2013, I naturally contacted him. I liked John’s work albiet he was not able to remove all the damage but did a great job nonetheless. I called him and he said he was very busy but would get out within a week to assess the damage and tell me what he could do. Then I never heard back. I left another 2 messages. By the time I did hear back I had already had to hire someone else, and presumed John was too busy or this was not a priority, which upset me since I was already a customer. Unfortunately I found out that John had injured his leg w a nail gun and went to the hospital, but that was after I wrote the review and had to pay someone else to repair the damage. His explanation was certainly understandable and I would never want to hurt someone’s business if there is a reasonable explanation. However, my input here is that his wife or someone else who worked w him should have been calling his customers immediately(not wait for me to finally get him on the phone to find out what happened) to inform them that he would not be able to work for however long he needed to heal, I certainly would have understood. I have been in the hospital for serious injuries so understand how crazy that can be. But being self employed brings certain responsibilities if you want to maintain a good client base. His original work was beautiful and he did 3 coats on my floor, and gave me a good price. I was very happy with those results, so I would recommend his work.
