Very good food; ok atmosphere. Real good food, and usually great specials. Great salads. Good outdoor seating area. Good place to bring the kids. The food is much better than the atmosphere suggests. Would be great if they had a bit more vegetarian and chicken options. The indoor restaurant is often incredibly smokey — to the point where it can be tough to breath in there. They clearly need a better ventilation system. Lastly, their beer selection is pretty terrible. In an area with access to so many great local beers, their craft beer selection basically consists of a couple varieties of Harpoon bottles and Long Trail(when it’s in stock), and Switchback on tap(when the keg’s not kicked — as it often seems to be on weekends). You guys can’t get Fiddlehead, Otter Creek, Heady Topper, 14th Star or any other good VT beers?

Stopped here after a long day of biking the islands. We didn’t expect more than mediocre food but we were very pleasantly surprised! We had the bruschetta and it was AMAZING. I had the Henrietta sandwich(chicken, avocado, bacon, onion, tomato, lettuce & roasted garlic mayo on a baguette.) I was a little worried about the many ingredients but somehow they worked so well together. And the baguette was fresh and soft. If we’re ever in the area again we will definitely stop by again.

Great place for a casual lunch. I was visiting Brown Ledge Camp and took my daughter out here. We had delicious sandwiches and burritos as well as great milkshakes. Nice service.

Prime location to get a great view of the water. On a beautiful July 4th, my boyfriend and I had lunch here and found it surprisingly quiet and peaceful. We sat on the terrace, ordered sandwiches and drinks. In terms of quality and value, for around 8 $ a sandwich, it’s worth it. Flavorful and fresh, however the house chips were bland– Next time I would pay the extra couple bucks and get salad or mac and cheese. My pink lemonade was also very diluted. It tasted like the Minute Maid brand but watered down. At least there are free refills. Service was good as was my main meal, not in love with this place, but it’s definitely a great lunch spot without breaking the bank if you’re not in the mood for traditional fast food. Note– They have ice cream and WIFI too, but need to ask for the password.

Had dinner here for 3rd time and they are 3 for 3. Food choices are great and well prepared. Service is attentive without being disruptive. We had veggie quesadilla and a lamb taco… both were excellent w distinct flavors and great balance of greens.

This is a great place to go to in Colchester with great food. Very friendly atmosphere with good beer. We had a snack of of their roasted veggie quesadilla that were incredible and we heard everyone bragging about their scallops. It is a great place if you are visiting the area or you are a local.

This is a great restaurant hidden in Colchester. Good food, friendly service at a very reasonable price. Love the chicken and biscuits.

We desperately want to love this place — we live down the road and would love to have another lunch/brunch/dinner option nearby. Sadly, the one time we went we found two major disappointments — first, the greeting and early service were awful. It wasn’t too busy, we we’re told they had a table outside(which they then have to someone else), we were seated for almost ten minutes with no menus, when we were finally approached and asked about drinks we asked for water — a few minutes later the server came back and asked if we’d ordered drinks(the same server.) By the time we got to the menus we were disappointed to see there wasn’t a single choice for a vegan — something that’s not only easy to accommodate, but increasingly common. Anyway, maybe the food is tasty, but the lackluster service and the lack of veggie/vegan options mean we’re not likely to be back.

We are locals and enjoy this place allot and the owners are just good down to earth people and are learning and growing into this business more and more and doing a wonderful job along the way. I have had everything on the menu and many many of them more than once and all have been very good, specials are creative and I have never had any meals that I didn’t like. The views are great inside and out especially with the renovations done in spring of 2014. Great for sandwiches, no burger or fries here but many other options. Staff is always friendly and if it is busy it can be a longer time for dinner but sit and enjoy the scenery and the company you have with you.

I loved it here! We sat outside with a view of the lake on a nice cool day. I had the Mac n cheese with onions and bacon. It was way better than I expected! The service was great too! Everyone was super nice and helpful. I recommend it for a great lunch!!!

Really enjoyed this place with my family today! We had incredible weather and a view of Mallet’s Bat that made me very happy. I learned to swim at the park across the street and went to school here. We had great food all around, I ordered the«dark side» meatloaf sandwich and loved it. This place gets five stars for the great service, and great food. I look forward to another lunch here the next time we are in town! This place should be packed with locals, it’s a great spot. Kick back, drink a Shocktop and enjoy the million dollar views!

Five stars for the view! The view of the lake is spectacular. It is so pretty. My sandwich, the Henrietta, was pretty good. I only wish the baguette had been warmed up. It would have been so much better. I also got a side of their sriacha mayo. I put that on my sandwich and YUM! Check it out and see for yourself.

Food was good, but…20 minutes after we ordered the waiter came back to tell us they were out of waffle mix, so we changed our order. It took an HOUR to get our food after that, making our total wait time ONEHOUR and TENMINUTES. totally unacceptable …

Great location, service was A-ok the time we went for breakfast, excellent french toast. Scrambled eggs were below average, as is often the case. Such a simple and staple dish… amazes me that it rarely arrives with seasoning or flavor of any kind. Why not add a few herbs, and/or throw some cheddar or cream cheese in? We’ll be back and update accordingly…

On a sunny afternoon, it is very unlikely you will get a better view of Maletts Bay than at Bayview Eats. It has been a favorite spot for my family to get ice cream on the weekends. They have old, classic muscle cars that regularly show up in the summer, and occasionally have live music. Bayview has always been plain cool. But it took a weekday afternoon visit to get a better, broader impression of this place. When the sun goes down, dinner is ready to be served(which I learned is now all-season), and the food menu is as refreshingly different as is the ambience. It is casual, easy-going, and equal parts celebratory and intimate. Bring your friends for food and a beer or two, or the family for a healthy tasty meal, or bring a close friend for a quiet intimate setting for dinner and glasses of wine. Bayview Eats is all of these things. What makes this place different is a creative menu that successfully offers appealing food without deep frying any of it. Bayview has great specials too. My wife and I had chipotle barbeque ribs with au gratin potatoes and gently seasoned buttery green beans. The ribs were perfectly cooked fall-off-the bone tender, the potatoes flavorful without being runny, and beans were better, more appealing, and tastier than most I’ve ever had. A small, family-owned restaurant with an accomplished kitchen, good food and drink, and an experience with surprisingly reasonable pricing. They are doing a good job coupling all these things together. I recommend this spot to anyone that wants something tasty and different than the typical burgers and fries experience.

Went in for something quick to support a local business. I didn’t have much money and noticed the BLT was the cheapest item on the menu so ordered that. The women at the counter was friendly and the BLT was ready fast. The BLT wasn’t bad but it was something I could easily make at home. Bread bacon tomato and lettuce were nothing special. If I wasn’t on a budget Id give Bayview Eats another chance. I wouldn’t discourage people from stopping in.

Probably the better choice in the area, but not great. Beautiful location if you sit outdoors on patio overlooking the bay and boats. Food is respectable and actually fairly creative. Service was weak… Shame because we would go back. Male server was very unimpressed and appear to hate his job, or maybe was just not cut out for anything but a diner… As restaurant owners ourselves, I wish I would have told owner… Food was good enough to try again someday

Everything about this place is 5 star, the food, service, the view, the location and soon they will have music on the patio. So relax, have a glass of wine and watch the stars dance on waves across the street. Love Bayview Eats, promise to be back soon.

Great potato salad! The potatoes were cooked and dressed perfectly. The covered bridge sandwich is also fantastic. They also have a decent red on deck(the Tillerman from Hook and Ladder). The woman who waited on us was friendly and efficient. We’ll definitely be back to eat outside and relax. Two sandwiches, coleslaw, potato salad, two drinks, one wine and tip came to around $ 42.
