I really like Plum Tomato — it’s a really cute and rustic little restaurant with solid pizza. I think it’s funny that the pizzas are all named after famous Italian film characters and mafia figures, and the pizza is reasonably decent with a very yummy crust and lots of interesting options for toppings — this is the best pizza in Colchester, by a long shot. They also make a pretty good salad.

I am not a fan of this place at all. I’m not sure how it gets 4 stars in Unilocal. The place is run by a bunch of kids who don’t know what customer service is. This place wouldn’t even let me take my leftovers home. What a joke. Stay away.

The only menu item I ever order at The Plum Tomato is the«Mad Cow» brikini so I am fairly familiar how its supposed to taste. However, it seems as the years go by the presence of their own horseradish sauce has gotten less and less. I remember the days when I would bite into one of these bad boys and my nose would start to run. The roast beef they use, in my opinion, needs some zip and zing. This past Saturday I ordered my usual, got home, and what do you know… no Horseradish flavor whatsoever. Maybe the recipe has changed and they forgot to change the description? New employee who missed the memo? Honestly I am not sure whats going on but if its on your menu it should be in the sandwich. Am I wrong?

Usually when we eat at the plum we have the wings or a pizza. This time I tried the mini calzone. Friend said they tried one and it was big and delicious. I agree with big, but delicious, not so much. I ordered the mini with sausage and hamburger. It was 75% or more ricotta cheese. Not sure why people skimp on the toppings, but it’s a shame. Overall we like the plum tomato, but this item was a bust.

This is one of those spots in your hometown that you miss when you move. Lucky for me being back in town, I got to stop by(and eat everything!!). Their pizza is second to none and they have so many unique options to choose from. My go-to is the Pope pizza(with spinach, feta, tomato, etc). I swear I could eat an entire large pie myself. We also had a side salad to share which was great. Service is always awesome here — it really feels like home. Stop by and try it for me while I’m out of town! :)

Good ambience, good service. Good hot wings with enough kick to make it worth it. Pizza was ok, felt a little too loaded for my preference, but I enjoy their thin crust. A little pricey as well.

Had not been here for awhile. Had lunch on a Saturday. There is a large menu of pizza, salads and sandwiches. My mother and I each had a sandwich. There are many choices and you are able to order a ¼, a ½ or a whole. You also have a choice of breads. A flatbread type or Italian type, both of which are very good. I ordered the«Magic Garden» sandwich, which is all veggies with feta cheese. Included spinach, mesclun greens, tomatoes, mushroom, onion, peppers, sprouts, and black olives. It was a perfect size for lunch. My mother ordered the«Napoleon», which is ham, bacon, onion and cheddar cheese with a mustard dressing. She thought it was very good but not something I would order. Also have lots of choices for pizza, which is thin crust. It did take longer than I would expect to get our order, but not in a rush.

I really love this place and pick up food here whenever I’m on Rt 2. Eating-in the service can be slow so I usually get take-out. They have fried dough on the kids menu which is yummy. I ALWAYS get«Da Bomb» and of course amazing pizza. The wait time for take-out is always longer then 20 minutes so call waaaay ahead.

We had our first visit tonight and it was excellent. The menu has such interesting varieties of pizzas and sandwiches it’s very hard to decide what to order. We had appetizers and pizza. All delicious. Hannah, our server was fantastic. We loved the rustic atmosphere with antiques decorating the place. We will be back.

It is so sad that food this good has to be served by an untrained staff. It is so hit or miss with service. Ordered to go and was given twenty minutes on a Monday evening at 7:15. Showed up in forty five minutes and they didn’t cook it yet. This isn’t the first time. Come on owners, pay a little more for training and or help and make this place something it should and can be.

Went here on a Wednesday night around 830pm I called in a large veggie calzones with extra cheese and 3 garlic knots, they said 40 minutes… Thought that was excessive but I didn’t want to cook so I accepted the time. I got there exactly 40 minutes later, thinking that they were possibly busy… The place was a ghost town. There were one boy and two girls hanging out at the counter… All looked under 21. I paid for my food. A whopping $ 30 and left. When I got home(I live 1 minute drive via google maps) my food was not only pretty cold, the knots were hard and dry and on the calzone… About 1 full cup of ricotta cheese. I tried calling back but no one answered and I was fuming, We ended up scraping it all off and trying to salvage what we could. It was so disgusting. Ricotta everywhere! We ended up throwing it away! The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because we’ve had great food from the Salem branch… Other than that I’ll go across the st for pizza and calzones!

I had not been in awhile; all the changes notice are for the better. Courteous greeting, prompt service, food was very good all for a very reasonable price. I will surely return and suggest you do the same.

I always get pizza for lunch. It’s has always been very good. So good in fact I will have it a few times a week. The problem is the pizza I got Saturday Night. There was nothing good about this pizza. No flavor not fully cooked and lack of cheese. I know it’s busy and it looked like you have many new people working. But $ 17.50 for a pizza it better be like the ones the ladies make at lunch.

If you like soggy thin crust pizza, weighed down by very little cheese and a ton of dry toppings then this is the place for you! I only do takeout, as dine in service is deplorable. Their wings are ok, can be chewy at times, but the salads and sandwiches are good. Note to management: please hire staff older than 30 yo. I get a bad feeling when everyone working in an establishment are very young and giggling the entire time.

We visited this restaurant Sunday after a nice drive around the town we use to live in, Colchester. We entered and the wait staff just looked at us w/o offering any help. We asked patrons if we seat ourselves. After getting our menus and drinks(ice tea that taste like gasoline), we waited for forty minutes and watched people who came after we did get their orders. We walked out.

The restaurant has a very crowded and dark atmosphere. In regards to the food, wings are very good. However, the menu is very limited and pretty much is only open to pizza, wings and sandwiches. I ordered calamari as an appetizer and was very disappointed. The amount of salt and pepper on the dish was sky high. Not good.

I went here on a Tuesday night around 630 pm. I ordered the chicken Alfredo and I received an oily dish. I could literally see the oil on top of my dish. The chicken was also very thin and dry. It kind of upset my stomach by how oily it wAs. I took a few bites and decided I didn’t want to go any further. Points for the staff. The waiter was really nice.
